Atkins is the guy who was on his way to work and slipped and craked his skull and ended up in a coma and dead.

You can get DaVinci Syrups, the sugar free, and combine any flavor you like with Club Soda. Make great drinks!

If you like cola's, you can drink Diet Rite - they make several flavors. Also, the Crystal Light stuff is good.

I read that Dr. Atkins had a weight problem, but in the pics I've seen, he doesn't look fat.

Crystal Light is good- but be careful of the amount the nutrasweet still affects blood sugar.

Unsweet tea- I like it.....add spenda and enjoy.
diet rite- very good stuff.

Haven't tried the syrup and Club Soda.....

OH and do yourself a HUGE favor and continue to drink water. you can NOT substitue for water.

I drink koolaid. Don't buy the koolaid with sugar but the unsweetened packages and then add splenda.

You should have asked us when you saw us lol.

First of all I don't suggest the Atkins but rather the South Beach. Allows for a more balenced.

For drinks I recommend:
Crystal Light
Any Diet Soda
Any Hard Alcohol straight or mixed with the above
Kool-aid with Artificial Sugar Splenda, Sweet N Low

Meals
All Blackened, grilled, or broiled
Chciken
Beef
Turkey
Any fish

Sides
Califlower Mash
Green Veggies Fresh
Sweet Potatoes with I can't believe it's not butter no Cinemon Sugar

Snacks
Chciken Wings only hot not BBQ
Nuts, Almonds, Peanuts, Walnuts
Sugar-Free Pudding or Jello

And to top all that work out for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week it will work wonders but remember it is a lifestyle not a Diet.

Breakfast was usually bacon & eggs or an omelet with either ham and cheese or sometimes chicken.

Lunch I usually made a chef's salad, with lettuce, chicken, egg, mushrooms, and blue cheese.

Dinner, skies the limit, meat and more meat. Chicken, salmon, pork chops, steak, ribs, whatever. Lots of it

For snacks I ate lots of tuna, prawn rings, beef jerky, pepperoni, sausage, etc...

Other than lots of water I drank lots of diet coke.

Atkins has to be the most unpleastant diet though... No energy, always hungry, and your shit comes out every 2 weeks in brick form.

Out of curiosity..how many calories do you put away per day?
From the sounds of things..it would be a fair amount.
How much weight have you lost?

Thanks for the tips, I am just starting it and wanted to get some ideas. I understand alot of people think it is horse shit and you just need to exercise but it's very difficult for me and most people to get the time and energy to go do it. I plan to buy a treadmill and do that 30mins 3-5 times a week (figure I can tivo a tv show and watch it while I walk/jog).

Brett if you get my message drop me an icq #5051691.

I'm not a fan of the diet, but everyone around me is doing it. My wife has started and she's made some crazy stuff like muffins made from eggs.

A friend on mine and his wife have been on this diet for at least 6-8 months and they've both lost considerable weight

That sounds like Ophra

Diets don't really work, you need to make a lifestyle change in order to maintain any success you had...that's what is so tough
