Atkins is the guy who was on his way to work and slipped and craked his skull and ended up in a coma and dead.

You can get DaVinci Syrups, the sugar free, and combine any flavor you like with Club Soda. Make great drinks!

If you like cola's, you can drink Diet Rite - they make several flavors. Also, the Crystal Light stuff is good.

God damn those are SO Good

jpwhits 03-16-2004 03:49 PM

atkins gives you cancer

DreamCumTrue 03-16-2004 03:51 PM

I read that Dr. Atkins had a weight problem, but in the pics I've seen, he doesn't look fat.

Mack 03-16-2004 04:01 PM

Crystal Light is good- but be careful of the amount the nutrasweet still affects blood sugar.

Unsweet tea- I like it.....add spenda and enjoy.
diet rite- very good stuff.

Haven't tried the syrup and Club Soda.....

OH and do yourself a HUGE favor and continue to drink water. you can NOT substitue for water.

Imageauction 03-16-2004 04:38 PM

I drink koolaid. Don't buy the koolaid with sugar but the unsweetened packages and then add splenda.

Syl 03-16-2004 04:44 PM

I like diet a & w rootbeer and diet cherry 7up the best ..also for alcohol..stick to the hard stuff..rum, tequilla, vodka (straight) ..i hear these are low in carbs, havent had any gain with drinking those

BuckLover 03-16-2004 04:45 PM

Living For Today 03-16-2004 04:47 PM

yeah it does sound like bs but it does work..after i had my son i had a hard time losing weight but with atkins i lost 35lbs putting me at 10lbs less than what i started out at before i got prego.. its hard work though

jabula 03-16-2004 04:53 PM

Water is best ... but if you crave something sweet you can have diet drinks if you want :)

makefuckingmoney 03-16-2004 04:57 PM

I lost about 45 lbs doing some atkins/lowfat combo stuff..

also, carls jr has that low carb burger, as well as in and out, protein style..

try omelettes for breakfast..also try and start to work out..it helps a ton..

Syl 03-16-2004 05:04 PM

thought this link might be helpful to you ..has recipes, sample menus, etc.. http://atkins.com/food/index.html

RudeBrett 03-16-2004 05:15 PM

You should have asked us when you saw us lol.

First of all I don't suggest the Atkins but rather the South Beach. Allows for a more balenced.

For drinks I recommend:
Crystal Light
Any Diet Soda
Any Hard Alcohol straight or mixed with the above
Kool-aid with Artificial Sugar Splenda, Sweet N Low

Meals
All Blackened, grilled, or broiled
Chciken
Beef
Turkey
Any fish

Sides
Califlower Mash
Green Veggies Fresh
Sweet Potatoes with I can't believe it's not butter no Cinemon Sugar

Snacks
Chciken Wings only hot not BBQ
Nuts, Almonds, Peanuts, Walnuts
Sugar-Free Pudding or Jello

And to top all that work out for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week it will work wonders but remember it is a lifestyle not a Diet.

Couldn't have said it better, the key is lifestyle!

reynold 03-16-2004 05:43 PM

Drink gatorade. It'll freshen you up
a little bit.

Breakfast was usually bacon & eggs or an omelet with either ham and cheese or sometimes chicken.

Lunch I usually made a chef's salad, with lettuce, chicken, egg, mushrooms, and blue cheese.

Dinner, skies the limit, meat and more meat. Chicken, salmon, pork chops, steak, ribs, whatever. Lots of it :)

For snacks I ate lots of tuna, prawn rings, beef jerky, pepperoni, sausage, etc...

Other than lots of water I drank lots of diet coke.

Atkins has to be the most unpleastant diet though... No energy, always hungry, and your shit comes out every 2 weeks in brick form.
:helpme

Ic3m4nZ 03-16-2004 08:06 PM

Shit like Atkins never works you always regain your weight after.
The perfect solution is gym and do sports a lot.. but most americans are too lazy.. hit the gym or give up

Out of curiosity..how many calories do you put away per day?
From the sounds of things..it would be a fair amount.
How much weight have you lost?

Shit like ANY diet doesn't work when you STOP it..you always regain it THEN!

Thanks for the tips, I am just starting it and wanted to get some ideas. I understand alot of people think it is horse shit and you just need to exercise but it's very difficult for me and most people to get the time and energy to go do it. I plan to buy a treadmill and do that 30mins 3-5 times a week (figure I can tivo a tv show and watch it while I walk/jog).

Brett if you get my message drop me an icq #5051691.

raster 03-16-2004 10:34 PM

I'm not a fan of the diet, but everyone around me is doing it. My wife has started and she's made some crazy stuff like muffins made from eggs.

A friend on mine and his wife have been on this diet for at least 6-8 months and they've both lost considerable weight

my mom keeps slim jims and those sticks of cheese handy

raster 03-16-2004 10:35 PM

That sounds like Ophra

Diets don't really work, you need to make a lifestyle change in order to maintain any success you had...that's what is so tough
