Problems sleeping...any advice?

I broke up with my boyfriend 2 1/2 weeks ago, and since then I havent been able to get *any* sleep.

Like, I cant fall asleep until 4-7 in the morning and walk up 2-3 hours later. Im not getting into a deep sleep either, and I know its affecting me.

I dont want to take any meds for it, since I know a lot of times it messes it up further. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks

That herbal crap, ummm whats it called again. Does seem to keep you asleep.

Though I honestly prefer an ambien-valium coctail, with a chronic chaser. Seems to do the trick. The valium though can and will give you very vivid dreams.

Just drink yourself to sleep. Drink 2 full glasses of water, take 2 advil, then get a bottle of gin or whiskey, just do a bunch of shots. Quick and painless, there's no way you can stay awake if you're passed out.

You could get a new boyfriend, that might do the trick

Personally, jerking it always makes me tired, then I'll pass out and be totally awake again in 30 minutes. So you might need to do it 8 or 9 times. Go buy some sex toys and go nuts.

Try some Sleepytime tea (chamomile with peppermint leaves and no sugar added) and take a melatonin with it. You'll be knocked out, not habit forming, and sleep for about 10 hours or so.

Cough syrup (Nyquil night time) and melatonin. I've been doing it for five years, works great. You don't even have to drink that much cough syrup either, just like half the normal dosage is plenty.

Melatonin! Ive been taking it for years. Sometimes it comes in 3mg which I think is too much, I usually take half of one or try and find a 1mg formula.

I find that it helps me get to sleep but my best friend was having problems like yours and it did the trick. The side affect is awesome dreams....but very rarely I have a vivid nightmare which I never had before taking melatonin.

It's easy, just work hard all day and wear yourself out!!
You probaly have a lot of energy or do not move around alot and the only cure is in actuality to wear yourself out!!

Yes it sucks, or take drugs

Melatonin is the wonder drug here. It's not really a drug, it's a hormone and it WORKS great. I had sleeping habits like you until I turned 20, pretty often missing a few days at a time. I take one of these cheap little tablets and in about a half hour I start feeling tired(a natural tired, like I just had a long run, not chemical tired). Then I'm out for about 8 hours and I wake up refreshed.

Yeah kava and valerian root certainly are fun. Large amounts of kavalactones are pretty psychoactive. You'll feel pretty doped up after taking some of them.

Also blue lotus, buy some of that and smoke it and you'll go into a mild-opiate like dreamy state.

Yep yep, but I need AT LEAST 3mg. When it stopped working as well I started taking 6 and I'd still be up for a while. I found that taking a break for one night I'd fall asleep just the same and the next night the 3mg would put me out again.

AND YES THE DREAMS ARE AWESOME! lol they're very vivid and realistic.

haha, never knew there were so many drug users on this board. ;)

Thansk for the advice though, I think im gonna try the melatonin, and we'll work from there.

Hopefully its just a "post-breakup" phaze, and I can get back to normal.

Squee.

I love parking at the Las Vegas Club parking garage and walking down to the El Cortez in the middle of the night. Fun and a little scary sometimes too

Turn the air conditioning down to about 70 degrees, this will help a lot. I guarantee it!

Xanax, the only time I had trouble sleeping (for like a week), I took a tablet and slept the next day 17 hours. I got up something like 7PM.
