Drink four very large glasses of water with LEMON JUICE in it at different times of the day and each time you drink that glass of water take two fiber laxative tablets.. ( Longs drug has them)

Work out atleast 3 times a day for one hour.....

Or eat half a grapefruit before your meals.
If you can do that..you'll definitely lose weight cuz grapefruit really kills the appetite!

But I'd be a tad concerned taking so many laxatives!

15 pounds can be lost in 5 days if you workout on a bike 2 hours everyday.

The diet is just one of the factors, workout is as much important.

with the exercise - part of it is how long you exercise as well as how "hard" - running for 20 minutes isn't necessarily as good as walking quickly for 30. I know on weight watchers they don't care how fast you go but how long you go.

Atkins is great for quick weight loss - but don't count on keeping it off which is what most people want to do. The people who are saying lifestyle change are on the money

Ive been on Atkins for about 14 days now and Ive lost about 17 lbs. Remember to drink a lot of water though cuz this protein-intensive diet may cause severe kidney/renal problems. I've been satisfied with the results plus I accompany it with a 1 hour workout daily -- 30 mins cardio 30 mins weights.

Well, to each his own, I suppose. Atkins is definately the diet for me. Of course, I'd rather have a nice, juicy ribeye cooked to a pink medium over a high flame to crisp up the fat than a stale old pieve of bread or a potato anyday, so maybe that's why I love Atkins so much.

There is a product out now (pills) called Phase2 that block the absorption of carbohydrates and allow you to OCCASIONALLY indulge in pasta or bread or something (starch but NOT sugar) while on the Atkins diet. It only blocks 80-90% of the starch in one meal, though. But for some people it's the one thing that helps them stay on Atkins... a one or twice a week indulgence.

One of the best things you can do to lose weight is give your body time to react to the food you eat -- slow down your eating.

If you break a meal into smaller parts - ie appetizer and main course or salad and main course, your body will tell you its getting full alot sooner than if you just eat one larger portion at once -- it takes the body something like 15 minutes to get the signal to your brain that it's done eating -- one of the main reasons why an appetizer course followed by a long wait for an entree at a restaurant almost always means you will eat less of the entree.

according to the diet I am on, a big name in the UK, lemon speeds up the fat burning process just a little but they never could tell us why either.

Even though they might not have always worked I have been on enough diets to know the rules. Make sure you drink your water - can't say it enough. On top of everything it fills you up.

Also, peel and freeze some bananas for when it is hot and you want an iced treat. They aren't icecream but that are nice frozen and they take ages to eat that way so for me it satisfies the nibble urge.

My progress updated, I have also changed my goals to be more than 15 pounds since I have lost like 8 already. My new goal is 194. I have weekly goals and if I meet it early I will change all the rest of the goals to reflect that.

Heres status so far:

Day 1 (16th) 3 laps, abs
Day 2 4 laps, abs wt. 213
Day 3 (18th) 3.7 laps, wt 211.5 after walking
Day 4 4.6 laps, abs, wt 210.5 after walking
Day 5 (20th) 3 laps, 209 after walking
Day 6 4 laps, 207 after walking, 20 pushups
Day 7 day off, wt 207
Day 8 4 laps, 205.5 after walking

I can already tell a noticable difference in the way my clothes fit, I put on a jacket that I wore this winter and loved it, I was 235 this winter and cut that down up until now to 215 just by being a little more careful about what I eat and drinking diet drinks.

Metabolism + workout calories - food = calories burned per day

That number should be 52500 combined after 60 days for me
The problem with that is that the fewer calories you consume, the slower your metabolism gets. You should lift weights. Muscle burns fat.

So does what I am doing right now. I've calculated my slower metabolism into my diet with every pound I lose.

Just get off your ass and do cardio for 30mins a day and you'll lose it a lot faster than any diet.

The 6 pounds in the first 7 days were enough motivation for me. Plus the fact that all the clothes that were tight started fitting better and better every day. I had a pair of jeans I could barely fit my hands in the pockets, its a lot easier now

Hope springs eternal!

Haha wrong. Overweight for the height of 74 inches is technically 194 and up. Of course that doesnt take into account muscle at all. I dont work out. I dont want to workout. I have enough muscle I just need to lose some fat.

More muscle you have the more calories your body burns up, easier to stay in shape. I wouldn't cut out lifting weights if i were you., or atleast throw in some calestetics never know when you might have to lift a small car, beat somebodies ass or something.
