it depends on what county you live in Florida. For instance the one that I live in does not require you to have an occupational license to run a business out of your house, but other's do. It pays to do your research ahead of time.

I hope that he comes out of it with no problems, other than his dipshit neighbors looking at him differently. But who cares about that.. lol.

I had a neighbor that ran a call girl operation and to be honest it really can be a hassle having a porn operation in the neighborhood. Girls would show up at all hours and knock on the wrong doors.

I agree with the town/mayor/mother 1000%. A residential neighborhood is no place to be producing the kind of material that was being produced in that house.

Hell, I am in the business and I wouldn't want it in my neighborhood. This is what zoning laws are for. I suppose that none of you would mind if a McDonalds, or movie theater, or concert hall was being run out of the house next to yours either.

If you can afford a million dollar house in an exclusive neighborhood than you certainly can afford to rent/purchase a studio.

I do however enjoy reading that this outfit hires such top notch people to be in their productions. A mother who had an outstanding warrant for neglect of a child. Another with an outstanding warrant for drug charges. Nice. I do however understand. If any of the photographers here have spent much time actually talking to the models they know that some of them are pretty fucked in the head.

Gregg will likely have to move because of this. BSO will hassle him now as will the homeowners association for southwest ranches. That area is really nice, homes start at about $300k for the low end and go up to millions for the newer homes on 10+ acres. There is alot of political and financial juice that is living in those homes. The homeowners association will make their lives miserable until they move.

Just another day at the office...unfortunately we interview and hire new models daily...not many of them tell us their past or current situation...and I couldn't care less as long as they don't bring any drugs to shoots.

Luckily we've made tons of local friends in the biz who are letting us shoot at their locations until things are sorted out.

appearantly some of you do not live in "nice" neighborhoods... people pay to live in certain areas...for a reason...

JMM clearly makes a point that if you can afford to rent a million dollar house .. why not just rent a studio in a commercially zoned area???

What is your address? Im going to buy the houses that surround you.

House 1 I will live in. On the front lawn I will have 7 beat up cars on blocks. Every night about 7, I am going to pull out my sanders, saws, etc and just go to town on those cars. No real purpose, just beause I feel like it.

All of that shit would violate the rules of the home owners association and most violate local zoning laws. You'd be history in no time. What Gregg is doing can't be considered as a violation of zoning laws since there is no impact on traffic in the neighborhood, which is why such zoning laws exist. What it boils down to is the neighborhood and police trying to tell them what to do in the comfort of their own home.

If there were 20 cars lining the street and they were shooting on the roof or the front yard, I could understand but that isn't the case.

No no no..I'm sorry, you didn't read Nike's law properly. There is not much room for interpretation in Nike's law:

"Fuck it, if he has got enough private land around him, he should be able to do what the fuck he likes."

I should be able to do what the fuck I like and I should tell the homeowners association to fuck off.

Gregg said he interviews models daily, I would assume he shoots at least half as often as that, or close. You don't see impact there? Look again.

As for your statement that what Gregg is doing can't be considered a violation of local zoning laws because there is no impact on traffic is just 100% wrong. It IS a violation of local zoning laws. If he wants to challenge those laws, he can, but as it stands RIGHT NOW, it IS a violation. There is more to zoning laws than simply traffic impact.

The case will be brought before the town's special master on Aug. 12, Poliakoff said. Such offenses carry a fine as high as $250 per violation.

No, actually that IS all there is to zoning laws regarding "home offices". I have another business that is run from my partners house. We checked into local zoning laws before we did it. Nice try though. What is considered "excessive traffic" is obviously open to interpretation though.
