What up peeps.

I live in PA, and i was in a head on collision last year. At the accident they asked me if I wanted to give them blood and if not, lose my license automatically for a year. I gave them my blood bc i wasnt thinking straight, they found chron in my system. Even thought i smoke daily, well not anymore bc i kicked that. I could have smoked 28 days ago, and its still in my system, they said i was impaired on something. I got a great lawyer, i got 30 days in half way house, which is a prison, but i get to go on work release, I got my license suspended for 1 yr, I got 2 yrs of probo. If you dont have anything is your system, making you totally alert. It was just an accident, your insurence will cover it all basically, because you wont have med bills to pay nothing. Just a tragedy to the other family members. You MUST GET a good LaWyer no matter what. Nothing should happen to you. Federal court, county court, whatever its all bullshit. where are you from that you were at keywest and driving home? Find out what the laws state about being in a accident and having agrivated assault, thats what i got, bc i hurt someone. But not bad thank god. Please if you drink and drive you will be fucked. Please dont do that shit. Thank YOu

I hit her, and she slammed on my hood and I started skidding off the road into the grass. She probably skidded for a good 30 feet and she was on the bumper/hood the entire time for the last 5 feet she went down and i couldn't see her. She didn't go under the car really but just out of view.

Sorry if some of the things I say are harsh, mean, and unemotional but i have a million different thoughts going thru my head at once and it is just sometimes hard for me to think clearly.

Being sorry for something that happened is not the same as being/feeling guilty. There's a huge difference between guilt and sorrow.

My grandma died to about the same affect...

she decided since it was a drive down the road that she didn't need her glasses...pulled out of her driveway and crash, gone in an instant...the poor girl that hit my grandma's car was about 22...

well, honestly, NO ONE in our family held it against her... in actuality it was my grandma's fault...and we definately felt sorry for this young girl...

sure my mom's mom died and we lost our last grandparent, but thats nothing compared to being the one that hit her and killed her.

Rest assured, you did nothing wrong and as for this woman's granddaughter I hope she realizes that too...

Your insurance company should take care of that. As long as you werent drunk or under any illegal substance, you should be fine. They will most likely try to sue you personally, but I doubt they would get anything since it really wasnt your fault if she was trying to commit suicide. If she didnt try to commit suicide, then it was an unfortunate accident. Eitherway, Im sure your insurance company will be able to handle that as long as you had insurance.
Dude, its not your fault so dont be too hard on yourself. You didnt kill her on purpose. Its a sad thing to happen, but its not your fault.

Thats not true. Marijuana will only show up in a blood test within 6-8 hours after smoking it, after which time it gets absorbed into your fat tissues. A urine test will show up positive for a month but not a blood test.

hmm, well I come at this from two different directions.

Firstly, when I was a kid my uncle hit and killed a guy on a bike that was sitting under a bridge at 3am without his lights on. My uncle had one drink but wasn't legally drunk and after a very long trial he did three days in jail. He is also a paramedic and tried to work on the guy when he realised he hit him so was in therapy for a good while.

Secondly, my husband is disabled as a result of being hit by a drunk driver. If you had anything in your system that you should not have had *OR* were overly tired I really don't have that much sympathy. Being overly tired behind the wheel is deadly and a 15 hour journey is a long journey after you have been partying for days.

However, if all was on the up and up you have to remember that someone lost a family member and one thing people do when they going through loss is lash out. You, are the face of their relatives death so they are lashing out. If you did nothing wrong you will be okay.

Thing is though, the things you have said here are on a public board. You never know who might see them and do you want that read by a lawyer? Especially the bits about being an old hag.

A few years ago I was driving though a town and all of a sudden this guy seemed to dive in front of my car.
He was pissed to high heaven and died instantly - Nothing I could have done about it.
Sure plays on your mind for a long time afterwards.
Never had the slightest problem from the police or family over it. But even today, in areas where people and cars mix, I always think it is likely to happen again.

I understand you feel angry because that woman traumatized you in some way. Completely understandable. But you have to understand that even though her grandchild is just "some white trash", she still lost a family member. And your statements about her family say more about you than about them.

You're 19. You know nothing. Perhaps when you get older, you'll learn to understand the value of life for everyone. Untill then, I hope you get over this and keep a few things in mind next time:

- A car has brakes. They are there for a reason. USE THEM when necessary. Someone fucking up the back end of your car is always less important than "taking somebodies life".

- Don't make a long drive directly after a few days of partying. Get some rest before you travel. It helps to keep your eyes open. Make sure you eat properly and drink alot of water to help you to focus.

- Don't, never under any circumstances, call anyone on your cellphone when driving unless you have a headset or car speakers. You will NOT be able to drive and call at the same time.

- Show some respect for her family members. They are just sueing you because they're angry. A simple "I feel sorry about the whole thing" might have been enough not to sue you.
