Being sorry for something that happened is not the same as being/feeling guilty. There's a huge difference between guilt and sorrow.
If that was you on the hood of that Jeep, would you expect your parents to say "I'm not sorry, why would i be sorry for something i had zero control over?" They had nothing to do with it, but you can bet your ass they'd be sorry it happened!
Maybe a bad analogy, but you obviously have no concept of the term "sorry", and even less of a concept of the term "respect".
