why do so many people miss this part?

you need a link to your custodian info on the cover page or the main page, not text that says you comply. or even simply the custodial info on the page.

Kimmykim 04-22-2003 05:13 PM

The fact of the link and where it is may prove to be quite important at some point...

Just throwing up a page that no one can find easily is not a good idea.

Or at least in a "prominant location"

I do not consider the licens agreement to be a prominant loaction, BUT...At least Micheal did post it. That is more than some others did.

Micheal, I will update the listing because the info is there but I would suggest you post it as the law specifies.

freeadultcontent 04-22-2003 05:24 PM

The way we have been doing was approved by our lawyer. Despite that I went ahead and added an additional link to our cover page just for webmasters piece of mind.

AaronM 04-22-2003 05:24 PM

Sorry I spelled Michael incorrectly. :glugglug

No offense meant to you, but there are lawyers who tell their clients to list the law firm as the custodian of records. In other words, not all lawyers are providing the best advice for their clients.

jcnlv 04-22-2003 05:34 PM

Hi,

This thread was just brought to my attention... also noticed we are *not* on the list you are using.

http://www.bestadultcontent.com/HOME

once inside the site, click on the LEGAL INFO link towards the top of the page...

any reason our legal page does not pass?
If it does... please add us to your list as compliant.

Thanks,

foe 04-22-2003 05:38 PM

yes

Fix it, let me know that it is fixed, and I will update the listing. Untill then, start kicking yourself for not asking a US attorney about US laws when you are selling to US clients.

Shame on you. :1orglaugh

Just for your info, I know excatly what paperwork I need to sell to US clients. I have been selling content/pictures for the past 25 years to the biggest magazines in US, inclusive Playboy and Penthouse, and there have never been any one of their attorneys, pointing any fingers at the releases or ID's I have provided. So I'm sorry to say, I can't follow you. Maybe there's something I am missing, since english is not my first language.
Please inform...
:) :)

No offense taken AaromM, as everyone knows many lawyers all dissagree on how this law is interpreted. Ive always done my best to make sure we were compliant.

It is prominatly posted inside the site.
It was linkable from outside the site with directions on how to do so.
Now it is also included on the very first page of the site.

YOUR WEBSITE IS NOT exactly COMPLIANT

Can you follow that?

You may be doing EVERYTHING correctly on your end BUT you have to publish it correctly on your site. Your license agreement has the info and because of your incessant whining, I have even updated your listing......Kinda. :1orglaugh

EscortBiz 04-22-2003 05:55 PM

The people who are in serious legal trouble related to shooting content are not the ones with a address issue, and they dont even see it commin, like the GGW and 5 others in the past 90 days.

For those who where at the CT thing know exactly who and what im talking about.

Okay, I heard you....:1orglaugh

So it's a matter of writing it "political correct"
I find someone on your list which is approved, and do some "copy and paste"
Thank's for your patience...:)

If we do not police ourselves...Then who will? Oh yeah, the Government.

Who would you prefer to have point out the problem if it was a concern for you?

Sassyass 04-22-2003 06:11 PM

How do we get on the list?

Exactly. Scott from adultlease.com is crying on my ICQ right now.

[17:52] AdultLease.com: well my friend before I fire back on gfy I am not sure it was cool to do it the way you did.... I am not saying it's not helpful just went about it wrong
[17:53] AaronM: IMO...Anybody who does not follow the law to the T is guilty of going about it wrong. I posted facts and the fact is that your site is not compliant. Get pissed and fire back if you like but if I were you, I would fix the problem then notify me so that I can update the listing.
[17:54] AdultLease.com: Who the fuck made you judge and jury ?

His respone was AFTER I took my time to explain why his site is not compliant. [sarcasm]How grateful is that?[/sarcasm]

Some people just don't get it.

basschick 04-22-2003 06:20 PM

i guess they'd rather find out from a REAL judge and jury :(

but the webmasters that trust their content provider's word that the content is legal deserve better. why don't web content producers simply put a link to their custodian of records info on their main page? i don't get it....

Great Post Aaron.

Aaron, super job! You've obviously put a lot of work into this and it's of great benefit to everybody who buys content.

Hye Aaron, your not going to post Manny's content company?:1orglaugh

jcnlv 04-22-2003 06:40 PM

I am curious to know how many of the content brokers out there have actually *seen* any of the custodian of records information from the producers they represent.

It is great that they give the name and address of the producer... but what are they doing to verify that information?

Does the broker need copies of all releases and IDs to be fully compliant? .... or can he just pass the responsibility down to the producer?... or worse yet, the producer's agent...

Does anyone know the U.S. law on this?

MichaelAncher 04-22-2003 06:40 PM

So Aaron !
Check out my info site ( bottom ) hope that's to your liking.
"kinda"...:)

The Other Sweetie 04-22-2003 06:46 PM

Unless I overlooked something, David Lace's Title 18 info is only accessible after you log in to their site, but you've got them listed as compliant.
2257 has to be prominently displayed on the website...which means it must be readily available without registering or logging in, correct?
So am I on crack or what?

asuna 04-22-2003 06:47 PM

danm 2257Compliant.com is taken.. would of been a great resource site..

Brujah 04-22-2003 06:54 PM

My content provider stole my wife, my dog, and my truck. Can't trust 'em, but he did have his 2257. Bastard.
