I believe he will be convicted, but most everyone thought Michael Jackson would be convicted as well. That doesnt change the fact that he hasnt been convicted yet. That's what the trial is for.

He has not been convicted yet, only accused. But he is about to go to trail acting as his own attorney. Even if innocent, odds are that acting as his own attorney he will not have a chance.

No way this goes to trial, if they are already offering 3.5 years, I think we will see him serve less than 2 years. Should be back at the pulpit in 2017..

Donny Pauling Jr. pleaded no contest Thursday to four felony sex charges involving two minors, a plea deal that will send him to state prison for six years.

The plea marked the end to a dizzying saga of sex crime charges that also implicated the former commander of the Sutter County Jail.
Pauling, 41, acting as his own attorney, admitted to oral copulation and having sexual intercourse with a victim 14 years old in 2012, continuing into 2014. He also admitted to lewd or lascivious behavior with a girl related to former Sutter County sheriff's Capt. Lewis McElfresh, "motivated by an unnatural or abnormal interest in children," according to the plea.

The facts of the plea also stated McElfresh masturbated while watching Pauling commit sex acts with that girl, who was then 16 years old.
Furthermore, Pauling pleaded to a misdemeanor charge of massaging a third victim's genitals in early 2014. That victim was 16 years old at the time.

It looks like he basically ended up taking the deal he was offered before he fired his attorney and took over his own case. The article says he will have to serve at least 3 of the 6 years and he will have to register as a sex offender for life.

He has lamented at the number of women he had previously recruited or worked with who have since contacted him depicting their regret and shame at having done porn.

He was never all that successful. Like 95% of the people here he was just trying to fake it until he made it, but it makes for a better storyline to say he gave up something big. He lost his wife because of a cuckold scene that went far beyond his control, and most likely losing her was too much for his ego to bear. Most people may think that Donny Pauling is a hypocrite.

The devout Christians might think he is a poor victim of the "devil".

Psychologists and psychiatrists are probably thinking that he suffers from personality disorders.

His behavior, his many flip-flops, his constant need for attention, his mood swings are not those of a person with a normal psychological balance.

I do not like at all the Puritans and I never liked Donny Pauling but I think the best place for people like him is perhaps the psychiatric hospital more than the prison.

I think they need to hang him and set him on fire.. But that's just me.

Just call the jails and get the information, or at least confirm it, that's what I did. Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes (even with multiple calls and searches).

You should write him, make them open letters to all of us for reading. Make sure you attempt to send the thread after the letters were posted, that way he gets some gratification and comes up with more pages to explain how this is all a misunderstanding.
He will be in a different jail it sounds like so maybe they'll let it pass the first time like they did for me.

Seriously, even if you set aside the insufferable self-righteousness and self-absorption, Donny apparently was approached by an adult who asked Donny to have sex with his 14 year old relative while he watched. Donny's reaction was not to call child protection services or another law enforcement officer to get this child some protection, instead he apparently chose to participate.

I feel tremendous empathy for his family and loved ones who are no doubt in considerable pain over all this, but Donny caused this. He chose to give in to his most vile tendancies.

Inmates should be kept from each other to some extent. I've talked to jailers and much like criminal defense attorneys they don't think very highly of those they deal with on a daily basis.
Being put in with other bad criminals makes things worse.

As far as change goes, can a person change? Somewhat.
Whenever someone asks that question I phrase it by saying "what happens when you go to the gym several times a week for long durations with a plan?" Change happens, significant change, throw in diet etc.
Some respond better to training more than others.

In regards to charging people as sexual predators it's effective. I had someone in a college course that was always so damn quiet, it was weird, nice guy though. He never liked to talk to people because he was under house arrest and talking would result in them finding out that he may have been caught illegal porn. Apparently he had depictions of a high school girl on his computer in the police report. Happen all the time now with kids and snapchat, my niece is wild and I think she got in some trouble with snapchat.
I read later that he violated his probation by watching a regular porn flick (they had the title and everything and it was rather tame).
Being labeled a sex predator is a life sentence, everytime you meet someone new you wonder if/when they'll find out and you'll always be able to tell when they do. The unfortunate thing to is like a felony, it doesn't matter how severe it is, it's all the same thing to the mind of the average person.
