It used to be very common through the 90s because the legal system had not been fully updated after the collapse of the Soviet Union and basically... a person would get 15 years for drugs in the car or a gun or 15 years for shooting the cop. So,... a lot of cops got shot.

What country are you talking about? If you'll get caught with a gun, you'll get 2 years of prison. If you shoot a cop in Russia you'll get a lifetime sentence, because it's considered as a very serious crime. So it's an extremely rare case here if someone shoots at police. And vice versa, it's very rare case if police shoot at civilians in Russia (incomparably rare than in the USA, for example).

If Poland were a successful economy its working class would not have left the country.

As Polish is now the 2nd language in the UK and there are Poles living in every village. It is millions who have left, The biggest emigration in history in peace time.

The effects in the UK have been falling wages for most working class. The Poles earn to little to buy houses and are trapped in low wages poor housing. With of course exceptions that have made businesses and shops.

Is this a possibility for the Ukraine? Where would all the jobs come from?

The world needs to direct economic activity to where people need it.

When i lived in Vladivostok in the 90's/early 2000's... GIBDD (formerly GAI) were getting shot constantly. In the late 90's at GIBDD posts, they had to wear a bullet proof vest and a flak jacket. What "facts" are you talking about? You are trying to compare now and then. 90's were real gangsta times here. Now it's a different country. And I was answering to a question on what's going on here now (not 10 or 15 years ago). That's a big difference you know?

Just one thing to compare. $300 was a real cool salary in the late 90s/early 2000 (most were paid about $100-$150 a month - no j/k). Now even a subway train driver is about $2000...$3000 a month.

I'm in Poland. Comparing to Ukrainian reality it's better in terms of social infrastructure, financial services and even job market.

Western people simply can't imagine corruption level in Ukraine, there are things you'd start shitting bricks once you hear about, there is no common sense used for anything, things get complicated on purpose - somebody's making money on that, and, in most cases, it's mafia = Government.

Regarding Ukraine, you're questioning things that are not really important in the first place, what if I told there are no jobs now, there were no jobs before, no salaries right now, people don't care, people survive - especially elder people.

You need to understand that we've been robbed by our Government and Presdient in particular. That was the reason we wanted to get rid of him.

National question. Once again, the separation idea has been brought in by Yanukovich himself, clearly with support of Russian propaganda and media to divide and rule.

USA want here ? Do somebody from Russia or Germany tell how Mexico should be governed ? US already did what they did, with their bullshit "wars": on terror, drugs etc. installing brutal govs in South America, killing Allende etc.

Average people from east try become more western which means less corruption, less crime, more safety and peace. If they dont succeed they emigrate or look for jobs in this "hated" west.
