They simply modified the product and kept selling them. So why is everyone so freaked out this time? I am pretty anti-gun and would agree with most bills. This one was not effective at all. I think the idea of it being better this time is pretty mute.

You mean 'moot' - meaning of little merit. 'Mute' is the inability to speak.

The type that would own such guns are typically the same that fear the government. Every time gun legislation ends up on the floor, they see it as still further proof of why they need military style weapons to defend themselves.

I am seeing tons of people I know who own guns. They don't really fear the govt. I think they fear certain people in their society. Who knows why they are all rushing to buy. If the more extreme bills are passed they would lose their money... Would they really shoot an officer to defend their assault rifles? I do not think I would be willing to do that.

After that knifes and bats will kill more people and you gues it already they will be banned or need a license for them.

Since the UN dictated that only the government should be allowed to use force we better ban pepperspray and any other selfdefence spray as well.
What did i read in the paper.... people use dogs to attack other people? Dogs are too dangerous for the commons they should be banned as well.

Because the gun industry and their lobbyist the NRA using it to scare people into buying more guns. It's fear mongering at it's best something the NRA is great at which happens to be good for their main concern, the gun manufacturing industry.

It's not about rights, it's about profits.

Not to mention pre-ban guns from before 1997 are still very,very common. It's not like they get thrown out in the trash or wear out beyond use.

You understand that govt does exactly this. They make laws to protect the people from each other. 200 years and we have yet to ban fertilizer in order to protect children from bombs. I understand a certain amount of mistrust but this is the major role of govt.

People were scared shitless when the first assault weapons ban went into place and that didn't lead to more bans. It was allowed to expire in fact.

Now they're fearful again, and again it's without cause. The only legislation that Obama passed on guns in his first term was to ALLOW them to be carried into national parks. WHY don't people just get it through their heads that they're fearing fear itself? haha, it's so laughable.

Every responsible gun owner is probably APPLAUDING every single one of the new measures. But there's a LOUD few who just won't tolerate any change, even though their rights are already severely restricted and have been for their entire lives! God, just move on to the next thing.

Pepperspray is a millitary grade weapon and you go many years to jail if you have it. Most knifes are illegal just like all guns for the commons, fertilizer is illegal to own without a license as well. If you defend yourself you go to jail as well in Holland that is with Dutch laws which it seems obama and the other politicians want your laws to go to as well.
If a burglar comes in your house or rapes your wife you may hold the thief but you are not allowed to hit him, you are supposed to hold him and ask him if he waits for the cops in holland by the law.
I know how governments work so i know what they will do next, you however believe whatever they you too so your a lost cause anyway.

Muslims and blacks seems to be the big fear of my friends who own guns. I know a fair amount of both so I fear the guys with guns who are afraid of the "others". I don't want anyones guns but it seems unreasonable that we can't keep an AR15 out of the hands of a delusional kid's hands.

There is NO evidence that tightening regulations to require universal background checks for ALL gun purchases, or banning specific weapons intended for the battlefield will lead to the loss of "many more freedoms." That's gun nut fantasy.

He just shot 26 people and the consensus was that he was unstable. I think we can assume that any of these mass murder nuts are unstable. Why is it we always hear the same bull shit about the Constitution but only when it revolves around Guns. Never hear these same people complaining when free speech or various other rights are being attacked.

Many of the hard core Gun rights people are the same people that will blame gun violence on video games just like the NRA did and will often be the first to try and throw so called freedom of speech under the bus, when it relates to porn.
