I will never understand how people can kill each other.
Yes i do understand that sometimes people get into a situation where you have to protect your own life or the life of people close to you. And even in a situation like that i think you should only use deadly force if there is really no other option.
Other than that there is no excuse to kill people or hurt someone. None.

Death penalty shouldn't exist. Killing someone who killed someone. How much of a better person are you then?

Because the dirtbags who are doing home invasions in LA carry guns. Gang bangers with no care for human life. We have something called the 2nd Amendment here. It entitles me bear arms, which in a home defense scenario translates to protecting myself and my family. Notice how I didn't say property, because for that you call the cops once they leave.

I'm trained, professionally, as a police officer and by the military to handle it.

I live in an affluent neighborhood, in a nice house. Those homes are now being targeted by LA Gangs. I can assure you that if my home gets "Flocked", as they call it here in the Los Angeles area, the last thing some shit bag coming up the stairs with whatever he's carrying is going to hear is the rack of that shotgun and blinding light in his face.

Should that not deter him enough and he presents a clear and present danger to my family, and the use of deadly force is authorized to stop him/her, I will not hesitate for a second to send him home to whatever God he prays to in situations like that.

So, if you can answer a question, and it makes sense and doesn't get me killed, I will get rid of my gun.

What would you do if your home was invaded by gun wielding gang bangers, your wife is asleep, you see them coming with their arms up your stairs, and there is no where to escape to? What do you do in the next 2-5 seconds to save your life?

The main problems with guns are people. People who don't know how to handle them.

I'm pretty anti death penalty but in that scenario I would probably take some satisfaction in watching that sick prick sizzle in the chair.

California does lethal injection though, so no sizzle.

I used to be ok with the death penalty until that Ohio Governor commuted everyone's sentence on his way out of office and made his arguments for it which I thought were great points. Principally however, i'm am ok with the idea of killing someone that raped and murdered a little girl or killed a bunch of people.

I agree with you almost 100%... BUT... I can think of examples of people who are just TOO fucked up... they did horrible things and are so on a different level (read... fucking evil / crazy) that they will NEVER rehabilitate, or even think a little bit like "us" (us = people with good intentions who do not want to do harm).

Psychopathy can not be "cured" by therapy...that is IMPOSSIBLE. Their brain just works differently. That is a fact... Some psychopaths (and there are a lot among us, but I want to refer to the "bad ones") who have done horrible violent stuff will keep thinking about doing that...and sometimes do horrible stuff again and again the first chance they get...They are predators... with uncontrollable urges... good luck fixing that

those people...are hopeless... and although I do not approve of violence... death might be a good solution for all parties... I am not promoting it... I just do not exclude the option in some cases, reality is a bitch....

He has a sweet job so my guess is that he's in a pretty nice area. But nice areas are where shit like that is starting to happen both in LA and here in NYC. Places where the 'haves' and 'have nots' must co-exist closely with one another. It's the economy.

I agree. Lol. I don't go near those bad neighborhoods.

I live in one of the most affluent communities in California. The gang bangers are now traveling out of their neighborhoods and targeting more wealthy neighborhoods. I am not wealthy, but I live in a wealthy neighborhood.

This new gangbanger thing is called "Flocking". They basically get together and go to rich neighborhoods, four or five of them will arm up and do the home invasion thing. The economy here is awful, and they are now preying on distance locales that have more money than their neighborhoods.

Also related, the crime statistics show that gas station and convenience store robberies are elevated again. The economy is squeezing them all back to violent and street crimes.

If you had an 8 year old daughter, and she was kidnapped, held for a period of time, say 5 months, tortured by her assailant, raped repeatedly, starved, basically 5 months of the worst situation you can think of, then murdered and dismembered by the kidnapper, you would not support a capital conviction, and go watch him die? I'm pretty anti death penalty but in that scenario I would probably take some satisfaction in watching that sick prick sizzle in the chair. California does lethal injection though, so no sizzle. Haha.
