you do realize they are beating you, right? while you are complaining about them on an adult message board, they are actively wining elections and, like it or not/right or wrong, making a difference in government.

The Tea Party is not fighting for freedom, they are delusional thinking their country has been taken away from them and erroneously believe it is due to out of control government spending and 'entitlement' programs. At the same time voicing the need for less regulation of industry and less taxes. The fact is that those who get meat of the tax breaks are corporations and multi-millionaires while the people are tossed a bone and spun to think it's steak... steak that liberals are trying to steal from them.

What makes it even worse and less forgivable is these very same activist are working hard against their own best interest. It is sad and pathetic to witness some elderly gentleman or woman screaming about the wastefulness of government spending and socialism while carrying a sign that says 'they' better keep their hands off the old gentleman's social security.

There is a distinct talent that the right shows on presenting it's spin to a country of uninformed, flag waving, patriotic people that gets them riled up. Yes the right can win the war of the words and have done so spectacularly for a couple of years now. But the Tea Party is not fighting for freedom, they are ignorantly fighting for a continuation of the status quo and a deepening of the American plutocracy.

thanks for reading
You're not reading what I wrote with an open mind, All thru history, it's been fanatical liberal protesters, protesting the war, protesting the killing of baby seals, owls in the forest, what every they could get their heads around for a cause. Clubs like Green Peace, the Sierra Club, even the Black Panthers.
The very idea of a large protest has always been a liberal affair.
Then comes in the Tea Party, completely NOT liberal, they are conservative, they have a right to protest, they want as a core, less government spending. Yes other groups are trying to get their voice heard in their, I mean they have a lot of power because of pure numbers and area they cover. But they were heard last November and unless they give up
I see them growing, especially after seeing what the GOP and the Democrats just did with the budget with their unwillingness to make hard choices when everyone is talking about process instead of substance. Deficit targets and triggers are process. Spending cuts and tax increases are substance.
What I perceive with our government as being a problem, may be different that you're perception, but you can't argue that the Tea Party is a substantial force in just numbers and resolve, calling them Racist or under the control of the corporate world is just a lame attempt by those that are scared it them. They are doing exactly what this country was formed to do. Voice your concerns about the way our government represents us, I'm sorry if you think thats wrong. I'm here to tell you that we need to have a voice or idiots like Barry will just continue to spend in an unchecked manor, he would have signed any debt ceiling bill as long as it gave enough to run the country till after his reelection bid, he didn't care about anything else, or he would have made it public.

In 2010 idiotic Americans voted them in.

In 2012 awakened Americans will be voting them out!

Their numbers will not be getting any bigger.

You're fairly clueless on this topic.
We spend over a trillion dollars more than we bring in.
No amount of taxation will bring in a trillion dollars a year.
Intelligent people know that. The rest badmouth the tea party.

(Emphasis added by me)
What I highlighted there is exactly where we diverge. Yes I think that the tea party has every right... no, an obligation to protest their government for what they see as wrong regardless of which side of the political fence they are on. It strengthens our society, civilized debate strengthens our society.

Yes I agree that the tea party has had a huge impact on the political landscape of the US, are you happy with the outcome? Completely fractured, crippled political system with the minority..................THE MINORITY...........refusing to negotiate with the majority leader in the Senate. Be realistic, the tea party may have had a huge impact on our political system but it has had a HORRIBLE effect on Washington. I thought it could not get worse but it did. I believe there will be a backlash to the tea party's influence which is directly contradictory to what you believe with happen, time will tell.

But I digress...

The tea party has been proven to be about as grassroots as I am thin (I'm not BTW). There have been so many ties to huge corporate interest backing their 'movement' that it is quite obvious that they are being manipulated. It is incredibly easy to control your average American, non-politically savvy citizen and they have been played like a harp. Here is how;

Be afraid, everyone hates us because we are AWESOME (what up!) *how I met your mother*

You pay too much taxes, take your money back it's all YOURS!!

Pay no attention to pollution... its good for you and so hard to understand. No seriously there are graphs and shit

Banks are bad, evil things that rape kitty cats and will steal your bag lunch... but regulation of any kind is far far worse.. no seriously take my word for it

No one should get a penny of money from you, fuck the elderly, sick, poor and disabled. It is Darwinism baby, survival of the fittest

Capitalism is just super duper keen to the max and we hate socialism and anything we disagree with, all of the above... yup, socialism. you dont wanna be a commie do you?

Tea Party member's tend to be or seem to be completely ignorant to what is in their best interest. They hate socialism without even understanding the concept and holding their arthritic knuckles wrapped around their social security checks. Young ones demand deregulation because they mistakenly think that will cure unemployment, they demand that unemployment compensation be cut and that the free market runs health care. They are one pink slip away from absolutely relying on 'socialistic' programs to save their asses. They are so self centered, uneducated and selfish they cannot see past their own pay studs. There is a thing called the common good and they completely ignore it and show their political immaturity by getting the most inane, belligerent no nothings elected and then convince themselves of whatever spin is puked out towards them.

You are right, the tea party has had a dramatic impact on our political system and we, as a society, completely deserve everything we get as a result. I am sorry I have seen the beginning of our decline. We were once a country of lofty ideals with a love of integrity and the respect of the world. The political circus that is the American plutocracy has made us either the target of scorn or a laughing stock worldwide. I wish we could return to our former glory but with ridiculous influences we have now and for the foreseeable future it is not going to happen.

You're wrong on both counts. I know what I am talking about, just because I disagree with you does not make me clueless. you're attitude and the millions of Americans that share it are a huge part of the problem. Note I said attitude and not views.

I never said any amount of taxation would bring in a trillion dollars a year did I?

I would guess I am at least as intelligent as you are. Although I have not seen much evidence of yours, at least not in any contribution you have ever made to a political discussion here

No porn for you! At least if Michele Bachmann has anything to say about it. The GOP congresswoman is the first presidential candidate to sign a pledge that calls for banning all forms of pornography and gay marriage. It also requires fidelity between spouses.

The depth of hypocrisy on the right is so fucking absurd, it is now truly debilitating.

A herd of sheep, led by corporate interests, trained to continuously vote against their very own interests.

Fucking pathetic!

this Quote may seem a little extreme, but it's what I thought about reading your concern about what the Tea Party has done to the political environment. Because the same was thought of when Ross Perot ran for president.

The tree of liberty needs to be watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

As more and more people see what our government is doing to the US, they will reach out in concern, the Tea Party offers help for those that are not happy, they get corporate money, doesn't mean they run it, there are over 2600 tea party groups if I remember right

When the economy is doing badly, it hurts our buiness, when it's doing well, it helps, simple math.
Some freedoms could be taken away from us, like the second and third signing of the patriot act by Obama

well champ, they would be;

1) I am not clueless. I simply hold a different point of view than you. Your assumption that I am clueless because I disagree with you is kind of ....well... ignorant

2) I never said raising taxes would generate a trillion in revenue a year as you implied I had.

No disagreement with me here. Most business people that are right leaning believe the conservatives have their best interest in mind. As a matter of fact the bigger the business the more back they have. I am more concerned with the non-business owners. The majority of Americans who work for those businessmen that are getting more and more fucked and are too blind to see the source

Maaaaaaaaaaaaybe, but I think the left has proven two things;
1) They could not muster enough party unity to open a bottle of wine at a washington mixer
2) They are committed (I mean as much as they are capable of being committed to anything what with having the spines of a jellyfish) to the first amendment

that just stands to reason

Of course, but then again freedoms are like currency, they can be given and taken away on a whim. It is a much bigger concern when our rights are taken away. Something the Patriot Act accomplished... I think this is something we have agreed upon in the past

I love it when you add a lol at the end of an insult that clearly you're the only one that gets due to lack of explanation, sally forth young keyboard warrior and continue on your quest to bring enlightenment to those that have no guidance but to read verbatim the democratic logs!
It is funny and not an insult you dont know your porn history. to lean right and work in adult is like a jew for the nazi party. Janet Reno saw going after adult porn as a waste of resources. If 911 didnt happen porn was going to job 1 for askcroft. Young? Im 47.Wait til the extreme right comes in and porn will be a big target. You can say leave me alone I defended you on a porn board.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaybe, but I think the left has proven two things;

The democrats have proven they are like herding cats, all the power they had for a year and focused it all on passing a law that over 50% in most polls want dissolved.
And during that time, the unemployment rate was shit, if that had more focus, maybe more people would be working and more people paying taxes and the government wouldn't been having this shortage of money?

I am a liberal, not a democrat. The party of the ass has done absolutely nothing with the power the American people gave them. I bet I could win a war with you in showing disgust towards their party and their leadership see what I did there? I implied leadership in the same sentence as the democrats!

Only as old as you feel, I'm fifty and feel about 25 sometimes, except in the morning sometimes.

And as far as Janet Reno, who's to say? You're using conjecture, not fact.

Most politicans go after porn for brownie points, fact is it would take a major shift in the morals of the comon man to shut down porn. So they make points by giving the porn industry rules like 2257.

Sort of like the same thing with guns in the US, did you know there are 20,000 gun laws in the US, this is how they get brownie points, when it really doesn't do shit to protect you from people that shouldn't have guns or have the illegally.

I use to be a true thru and thru Republican, then the party changed and so did I.
I think the disgust in both parties is pretty bad, no true leaders in a very long time

Our efforts were to no avail. During the first six years of the Clinton administration, federal obscenity law enforcement declined by over eighty percent. In fiscal year 1997, there were only six prosecutions in which the lead charge was a violation of federal obscenity laws. In fiscal year 1998, the number was eight.

Worse yet, to our knowledge, there have been NO prosecutions initiated against major interstate distributors of hardcore pornography in several years.

But more than any other factor, his failure to fulfill his 1992 obscenity campaign pledge can be traced to his appointment of Janet Reno as Attorney General, because when Reno was the Miami State Attorney, she refused to vigorously enforce the obscenity law, despite the fact that Miami was awash in hardcore porn.

In her article, "You wouldn't know it, but porn is illegal: Prosecutions lagging during Clinton years" (Washington Times, 5 November 1998), Rachel A. Roemhildt wrote:

"Although sexually graphic material is easily found in magazines, videotapes and on the Internet, what most people don't know is that much of it is against the law...During Mr. Clinton's first term, however, prosecutions for obscenity plummeted. While Janet Reno fights 'kiddie porn,' on the Internet, the adult hard-core and illegal porn is left unprosecuted. Justice Department spokesman John Russell said the emphasis is on child exploitation 'because Attorney General Janet Reno wants it there. That is where our money and manpower are directed.' "

No you dont. I like you but if you know then you wont admit you know the truth.
As far as LA it being all legal talk to Seymour Butts:
During 2001-02, Glasser was the focus of an obscenity-based court case, People of the State of California v. Adam Glasser, et al. over the depiction of vaginal fisting in his 1999 video Tampa Tushy Fest 1,[2][5] even though the film won the "Best All-Girl Sex Scene - Video" award at the 2000 AVN Awards.[4] Glasser pleaded not guilty to violating California Penal Code Sections 311.2(a), "production, distribution or exhibition of obscene matter"; and 311.5, "advertising or promoting matter represented to be obscene," better known as "pandering obscenity." Then before trial, he reached a plea agreement in which his company pleaded "no contest" to "creating a public nuisance," and paid a $1,000 fine, in exchange for all other obscenity charges being dropped against the defendants.[5]

You know that California is one of two states that porn is legal, while some forms get more attention that others, fisting fits in that catagory that gets noticed by the bible thumpers. I'm sure he laughed when he paid the fine

HAHAHA the suggestions the tea party will ban porn. When there is no party position on the topic. When in fact both parties vote en masse for any legislation that bans porn.

Goes to show...when people suggest a tea party position on porn...they are not reflecting any reality, just their own bias, projected onto the tea party.

As do I. I project a tea party that just wants the government to handout wealthy peoples money within the limits collected by taxes. To stop mortgaging the young peoples future to pay for baby boomers as they suck the wealth dry, leaving behind a legacy of debt & despair to their children.

Tea party fights for america.

You're such a clown. Everything that is wrong with this country is in your liberal propaganda that you spread on this forum.

See, I can sound like I'm 11 too.

First of all, I do not have to prove anything to you and I am generally disinclined to interact with you on boards because you're a troll to anyone who disagrees with you. However, since your response to that answer is so completely predictable, I will humor you with just a few suggestions I would make to my congressman.
  • Eliminate tax loopholes for corporations and multi-millionaires
  • Return the tax rate to the Pre-Bush Levels
  • End the wars and bring back US Service Men
  • Dramatically cut and reform military spending
  • Investigate social programs and eliminate fraud and waste
  • Right now if you earn over 120K (not firm on this number) you do not pay into social security. Change that so that every citizen must pay into it.
  • Regulate big businesses
  • Get rid of subsidies for business that do not need it. Two examples that immediately come to mind are corporate farmers and the oil and gas industry
  • Tax on Gas (just like Dukakis suggested back in the day) and use that revenue to rebuild infrastructure and make more toll roads to help generate states income
  • Investigate, reform and remove fraud from all social programs

Those are just a few of the things I personally would want to see. However, the House of Representatives is probably the only group of people in the country that knows where all of our money is going and I am sure that there are literally thousands of expenditures that can be cut, investigated, reformed and audited that could generate billions in revenues. To list them all here would exceed the maximum character count I am sure. But see that would take work and being a bunch of drama queens is how congress is choosing to act. None of those suggestions are particularly useful for feeding the trolls or suited to sound bites which the public seems to crave.

The bottom line is that you disagree with me, so be it. If I worked hard I could care less but it would take effort. And since I am absolutely convinced, judging from your past behavior, that you will just respond with some arrogant and ignorant, not at all though out 'pithy' reply I am done humoring you. If however you show some maturity and counter-point me with an intelligent reply I would be happy to debate you some more.

Thank you I needed a laugh this morning.Where were you guys when the white guys were spending all that money? Reagan and Bush spent like drunken sailors, no tea party then. Makes you think hmmm. They carry signs saying TEA stands for Taxed Enough Already which is weird when a large number of tea party members pay very little taxes and those who do pay taxes, they have dropped under Obama.
Michelle Bachmann leads the teaparty caucus in the congress and she wants porn banned. Lots of evangelicals involved but dont worry Josh. They take it all and come after porn you can tell them you defended them on a porn board and they will leave you alone.
Learn your history, all the big porn prosecutions happened during Nixon ,Reagan and if 911 didnt happen it would of been Bush also.Dems come in the obsenity task force Bush created Obama dissolved. Most the righties here owe their career because of Gov money that helped develop the net and Janet Reno thinking going after adult porn was a waste of money. Otherwise life would of been very different for those people.

these tea party flunkies are being taken for a ride. pretty much any movement that gains any kind of following will be infiltrated by corporate interests. its starts out innocently enough with a bit of funding then next thing you know, they are running the show.

what is their solution anyways? spend less...ok, then what?

what i find the most hilarious about these guys is that they are the same people who felt protesting should be illegal, and that protestors should be shot, etc. now they are protesting. i guess protesting is not just for liberal fags after all.

yeah, I figured you were all about taxing your betters and then throwing a few more taxes on top of that.
You're not just clueless, you're also a southern shitstain looking for your betters to pay your way.
why would you ever expect me to treat you as anything but the trash you are when you start by calling me a troll and finish with more insults.
You're not worthy of intelligent conversation, thats why I treat you as I do.

ah yes, the mighty black crayon has it all figured out.

what's your solution, spend more? ok, then what?

you see, in the intelligent world, they iIS a tomorrow after you spend less. Eventually when you spend more, it all comes crashing down.

oh, and please run out and find a url backing up your claim that the Tea Party felt protesting should be illegal and protesters should be shot.
I'll wait right here.

I am all for spending less but in the right places. The fact is no politicians want to spend less. This is their business, their career and its all backed by your money. They will try to romantisize any movement that gains momentum, simply for votes but at the end of the day, its business as usual.

You're not worthy of intelligent conversation, thats why I treat you as I do.

CBS/NY Times poll: The more you get to know the tea party, the more you dislike them

The percentage of people with an unfavorable view of the Tea Party in a New York Times/CBS News Poll this week was higher than it has been since the first time the question was asked, in April 2010. Forty percent of those polled this week characterized their view as ?not favorable,? compared with 18 percent in the first poll.

HAHA you blast fox news & call their viewers retards...& look at you attacking the tea party with polls from sources as slanted as fox.

Next november, tea party takes control of republicans. Then it takes control of america 2016 when obamacare forces the uninsured into the jaws of the sharks.

Finally a 3rd party political movement has some influence.

Finally America's political system is evolving.

Any other mature democracy has at least 3 parties that can be elected to power...

We at a min have 4: Loony Liberals, Democraps, Repubican, and Tea Baggers.

That would balance shit out a bit.
