My AWFUL experience with Paxum so far.

Ok, I didn't want to bring this to the boards, but enough is enough.

I opened my Paxum account in November.

After sending my docs, and getting my account accepted (which took a couple of weeks), my card was finally shipped.

I got hit with a $45 card fee on December 15. And was told that my card was sent on Dec 23.

So far so good (I'm not happy to pay a fee even before I get the card, but what ca I do, right?).

On January 17, after no news or card, I talked to Ruth, from their support, about my card. She guaranteed that it was shipped on Dec 23, and that I should get it within 2 weeks.

On February 3, no card yet, I contacted Ruth. She apologized, said that it might have been lost in the mail, and told me she was going to send me a new card, through express shipping, and it would take 1 week for me to get it.

Today I received a card, with a postal office stamp from January 18 (I figure it was the first card sent?)!!

Fine, fuck it, I'm happy to be able to use it finally.

I go to the ATM, and try to withdraw some money. It shows "insufficient funds". I'm like: WTF? I have almost $3k on that account!

I go online, and find out I had to transfer my money from the checking account to the credit card. No biggie.

I do that, and check my statements. And what do I find on the statements???

I got hit with a SECOND $45 card fee on February 3rd. AND a $95 EXPRESS SHIPPING FEE!

WTF!!!

Cliff notes: Got hit with a $45 fee on December 15th. The card was only mailed on January 18th. On February 3rd I talk to support because I didn't get my card yet, they send me a new one and charge me a $140 fee, without my approval!!

I really do hope I get a full refund on those fees. AND I hope you guys improve your game. So far I'm not impressed at all!

Ouch tranza, I hope it gets figured out and fast that $140 fee would have sent me over the deep end and quick! I can understand your... we'll call it frustration yeah? But I get the feeling that your situation is an aberration.

Why is there a fee for the card? What other options are there for getting the money out?

You say the money by default goes to a "checking account"? Do you get a book of checks to write against it? Are they free?

I noticed there is a small fee when transferring from checking account to the card for withdrawal, am I right? What fee is it exactly?

No idea what the options are. I'm interested on the card for ATM withdraws only.

Hi Tranza,

As always you got a hold of me easily this morning, and I'm pretty sure you already know that I would have taken care of this for you without any need to involve GFY, but anyway...

Your account is currently being investigated and any fees that should be refunded will of course be refunded to your account.

As with all our clients, we do appreciate and value your business, but I would ask that, should an issue arise in the future, you please allow us a little bit of time to investigate and correct any errors before bringing the issue to the boards!

I'll contact you as soon as I have an update on this issue.

------

Juicy - so you know, the package was actually shipped from Montreal, Canada to Brazil, therefore the rates you show are not accurate at all. Please redo your search via Fedex and you'll see the figures are well over $100 USD (close to $200 actually) for an express shipment from and to these specific locations.

-------

Tom - We offer the following withdrawal methods - Wire, Check, ACH (in US), withdrawal to an existing credit/debit card, and of course withdrawal to the Paxum Mastercard.

The $44.95 fee is the annual fee for the Paxum Mastercard. It is actually free to signup and get setup for your Paxum account, and you can access your funds through any of the methods described above.

Each Paxum account is split into two; first there is your ewallet where your funds are delivered (sometimes referred to as a checking account), and then there is the Paxum Mastercard, one of the options you have for withdrawal. We do not provide checks to draw against your Paxum ewallet account, however we do provide the withdrawal options described above.

I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have about Paxum, feel free to hit me up directly if you prefer, or check out our site for more information (including fees/limits)

--------

Cash - there is a 25 cent fee to transfer funds from your Paxum ewallet account to your Paxum Mastercard. The load is instant and you can access your funds immediately.

Why is there a 25 cents fee to transfer your own money to your card that you pay $45 a year for, to withdraw your funds at an ATM where you also pay more fee's to access your own money?

ePassporte are gone now I know that, but they didn't charge to transfer from Wallet to Virtual Visa.

Get a better discount ... Or fire whoever ships your stuff cause you are overpaying...

Call FedEx and ask for a "Rep" tell em listen we gonna switch to UPS or whatever and to give you better rate.. they will...

as long as you do some volume... But as you see below normal rate is less than $100 US.. no where near $200..

So fire your shipping "person"

Here's what I dislike about this most of all. The guy has been waiting for months to get a working account, has contacted the staff multiple times and has been fairly patient. On top of all that he gets over a hundred dollars worth of extra charges on his card.

So what happens? He gets talked down to and chastised as if he is some little kid for "taking the matter to the boards". Look, I'm glad he did. It lets other people know what is going on. Personally I would have given you one screwup and a week or two to fix it before doing this. He has given you many chances already and has been more than patient. Don't talk down to him as if he's just some asshole looking to damage your business. Save that crap, solve the problem, apologize, and go from there. Usually you guys are very professional and that's been one of your strengths but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. Usually when people "blame the customer" it's a very bad sign unless it's clearly the customer's fault. Same for playing the "sweep it under the rug" game. You guys messed up. Admit it and apologize if that's the case. Don't wave your finger at him and tell him he's been a bad boy for calling you out on the forums. Every company and person makes mistakes. But it's how you handle it that matters more.

Paxum reps do not have access to any of the accounts. So if you hit one of them up, they just have to go to the main office peeps to get it taken care of.

No problems with them here.

Signed up, ordered the card and the $44.99 fee or whatever was come out, thats fine by me they are shipping a free card to me before I even have any cash in my account.

Get my card and my balance is -$44.99 so thats fine.

Start getting payments in my balance goes into the black and now i can use it.

I've bought domains and other stuff online with absolutely no problems.

Done ATM withdraws of $500 and no problems.

All in all, nothing wrong them at all.

CashX on the other hand, I signed up thinking they were the best option and order my card. After 2 or 3 months of waiting and still no card I submit a ticket.

Take 4 weeks to be answered (maybe less, but was a long fucking time)

And the response I got was "the card you ordered was canceled"

No explanation or anything, now they want you to pay for the card before you get one so they can fuck off to be blunt.

I know I was going about how cashx was the best option, but I retract all them statements and would now say (at the moment) paxum is the best solution.

CashX, Payoneer and all the others can fuck off.

I just hope redpass works out aswell because I am a zombaio user. and that set-up would be excellent.

Your story sounds more like brazil postal service being shit and you being impatient. which lead to a fuck up. combined with paxum maybe making a couple fuck ups themselves which I am sure they will sort out for you.

I just got mine today, released on February 2. Didn't test it yet and I don't see any other charges than the annual fee so far (crossing fingers)

Anyway, I don't see why people is worried about Fedex when Paxum is located at an UPS office

When you ordered your card you forgot to unclick the "express shipping" box at the bottom of the page under the submit button, it comes pre checked. Now you know what your traffic is having to go through.

Admit it and apologize if that's the case. Don't wave your finger at him and tell him he's been a bad boy for calling you out on the forums. Every company and person makes mistakes. But it's how you handle it that matters more.
Thats exactly what I was thinking. Ruth came off as a real bitch. If someone talked to me like that after I paid to use their service I would ask for a refund and move on. For having to wait 2 months and then have extra fee's come out of his account, I thought he was pretty tame.

OK, so tried it at an ATM and it worked fine, no issues. They charged me $2 for the withdrawal as expected, so no surprises. However, the currency conversion is off the hook: a whooping 12% So all charges considered, to get $100 it costs me $16, although the cost is lower if I withdraw more money (ie $1000 would cost me around 13.2%). Still very very VERY high costs

The currency conversion is set by the banks ATM you used. The only fee paxum applied to your transaction was the ATM fee.

well, yes and no, it all depends on the deal with the intervening parts. I won't go deeper on this since it's not my intention to educate you on banking procedures, although you may want to read this from http://www.mastercard.us/support/atm-locator.html :

Quote:
you may wish to contact the financial institution that issued your MasterCard, Maestro, or Cirrus card for further assistance concerning ATM locations, personal account withdrawal limits and restrictions, local currency cash advances, currency conversion, exchange rates or other services offered. You will find their contact information on the back of your MasterCard card and/or on your billing statement. Or you can visit the issuer's Web site to manage your account online.
but even leaving Mastercard regulations aside, the objective fact is that FOR ME, to withdraw money from Paxum via ATM costs between 13.2 and 16%. No matter who applies the conversion, the OBJECTIVE FACT is it costs 13.2 to 16% to get the money.
Anyway, no big deal, I will choose to use it or not as I see it fits, just please don't try to play games on me, it's very annoying and I've the feeling I have more years of banking and CC experience than the entire Paxum staff. Or 99.99% of adult industry as we're at it

Firstly, I apologize if my initial response came across as 'bitchy'. Personally I prefer for things to be dealt with off the forums when they are already being dealt with through an open line of communication, and that is where I was coming from.

With regards to Tranza's situation, we have investigated the situation and we will be refunding the additional fee for the replacement card, however since Tranza requested on ICQ on February 3rd that the second card be shipped via express, and as the shipment has already gone out, we cannot refund those fees.

In the future we will ensure that any requests made for an express shipment of the card via email/ICQ/IM will be followed up by an email request from the client direct to our accounts department to ensure the client confirms s/he is aware of and willing to pay the express shipment fee.

Harvey, I tried to add you on ICQ regarding your currency exchange issues. Paxum does not add anything to the Forex fee so the only reason you would see such high exchange rates would be based on the ATM machine itself. Please email me ([email protected]) your Paxum email address and I'll have someone take a look at your account.

Sometimes having posts on the forums is good though...helps some of us in making business decisions (not saying that it has in this case). Everyone fears another Epass etc so we're being very very cautious right now in making our final decision on which companies we'll use for payouts to models and affiliates. It's good for us to read both the good and the bad.

Just my two cents.

It wasn't a matter of things being done or not. He was simply stating his experience for everyone else here to be the judge.

If you guys can't handle people sharing their bad experience, then get your shit together.

And maybe try telling people it's going to cost them $100 to have some FedEx'd. Not doing so seems scammy to me.

So customer pays for item, is told it was sent, has to ask for it again, finally gets it with a postmark showing that it wasn't sent when he was originally told it was... and the solution is that the customer has to pay for express shipping?

You've gotta be kidding me.

Wow. This is such bull and you guys know it. You mess up the shipment, and instead of making it work by sending it express on you, you send the card express without him realizing you would charge him (as any sane person would think you eat the fees of your own fuckup).
And why would this stay off boards? This is the only way he can make anything work since he gave you 45 days time to make it work.

I warned you guys about paxum long ago... I knew to stay far away from them once I heard from an unreliable source that jimthefiend might be a co-owner.
