Tea Party = Koch Brothers

It's been suggested for some time now that the Tea Party was not some organic movement like OWS was. Turns out the two main origination behind the Tea Party, Americans for Prosperity & Freedomworks were actually originally one organization called Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE), which was linked to Big Tobacco and was created by the Koch Brothers.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brenda...b_2663125.html

A Small part of the article..

Quote:
"The common public understanding of the origins of the Tea Party is that it is a popular grassroots uprising that began with anti-tax protests in 2009.

However, the Quarterback study reveals that in 2002, the Kochs and tobacco-backed CSE designed and made public the first Tea Party Movement website under the web address www.usteaparty.com. Here's a screenshot of the archived U.S. Tea Party site, as it appeared online on Sept. 13, 2002:"
Certainly worth a read, and shows what a lot of people suspected, that the Tea Party was never a grass Root group but rather pre-planned and created by special interest. Finally it's been proven by the National Cancer Institute of all people..

Ironically the Tea Party has been also trying to push lower taxes for big tobacco.. Go figure..

I been sayin' this for a while

The Tea Party was a grassroots organization for about 15 minutes... then it was highjacked by the Kochs & other Social Darwinists who want to take us back to the Robber Baron days.

I mean who really believes that some 'grassroots' organization that really got a head of steam 3-4 years ago has the massive amount of money they do? Oh right, apparently quite a few people do Follow the damned money, people...

With their accomplices in the right-wing media, they've done a masterful job at hiding their true intentions. Social engineering at its finest...

Of course it was. People are sheep and they hated having Blackie Blackenstein as President. I bet Rick Santelli was paid. I dont think it was a random moment.

Wasn't this already extremely well known for years now? Posted years ago that the term "grass roots" is meaningless anymore because it's been propagandized out the wazoo by these.. folk. The next time you hear the term applied to any political movement, just completely ignore it as it has no meaning aside from marketing.

I think this is the first time it's actually been proven.. There was a lot of speculation and people kind of assumed it was organized by special interest, but far as I know this is the first time it's been linked up solidly.

and all the tea party members are paid fakes I guess.

its amazing what the rabble believe.
Yes, a loose knit group of people who want lower taxes, smaller government, and fiscal responsibility could ONLY be created by the Koch brothers because no intelligent American could want such things................

So the tea party is exactly like every single liberal 'grassroots movement'? How dare they get rich supporters!

Lol@ OWS being grassroots. Apparently HuffPo didn't post that article about George Soro's funding it from the start.

Bingo.

Only the bullshit that people agree with is "legit".

REALITY CHECK: Neither OWS or Tea Party is what we think of as grassroots.

But both are pretty much as grassroots as it gets these days. Somebody always has to fund ANY movement. Somebody has to pay for people to go out and spread the word and have an office in all the cities, etc.
And most guys with real money and power actually give money to BOTH "sides" to hedge their bet.

All of us speculating and thinking how clever and smart we are...in reality we aren't even on the same page as a George Soros or the Koch Brothers.

Sorry Crockett...you and I are not "experts" in that world of high stakes politics. Heck, I'm not even sure what you do in the adult business. lol

Did you read the article? It's pretty well proven in that article that the Tea Party movement was pre-planned over 10 years ago by Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE). To the point they even registered the domain name www.usteaparty.com

Then magically years later the exact same tax plan that CES was pushing comes true, being pushed by the so called "grass roots Tea Party movement, right down to using the exact same name the "Tea Party". Added to this the Tea Party has been pushing anti tax for big tobacco which was the original goal of CES.

Sorry but a spade is a spade.

The tea party of 2007 was grassroots, created by Ron Paul supporters. YouTube it. Koch had nothing to do with those.

Did you really just completely ignore looking up when OWS was actually created? News flash bro, it wasn't even in the 2000's. It wasn't in the 90's or 80's.. It was back in the 70's. Some of the SAME people are still involved today. Ask Obama's buddy, Bill Ayers. He'll tell you all about it.

You could google this info and come up with it in seconds. If a spades a spade then you should try calling it for both sides, not just the one you disagree with.

This is why people who aren't open to facts if they disagree with them, should avoid political discussions at all costs. Makes you look stupid.

You don't want to believe it's true.. Right here is the Supplemental File from the document with all their findings..

Look at the names of the key players, and look at the organizations they have been part of. It's all right there in black and white, plain as day.

The use of the term "grass roots" is only for consumption by the targeted niche of people so they feel they can become active too. Has nothing to do with a conspiracy, it's simply marketing which most people here should readily understand I guess?

Corporations start phony grass roots websites for all kinds of self serving reasons, don't they? Like starting up dozens or hundreds of sites saying that corn syrup is practically good for you and science stating otherwise is bunk. Trying to re-brand it as corn sugar even though such a product already exists.. things like that.

Things like this is why education is important.

We still don't have "healthcare". You know that. What we have is a big gift wrapped ton of new money for the insurance companies.

Doesn't change how good our "health care" is by one bit.

And all the homeless bums I see standing on street corners with their signs? They will never be able to buy health insurance and/or pay the tax that's charged if you don't buy insurance. They will continue to be the drain on emergency rooms (the supposed reasoning behind forcing everyone to buy overpriced health insurance) and keep the hospital system still using that as an excuse as to why they are justified in price gouging.

All a "modern society" needs...is for people to pay their own goddamn bill when they go to the doctor.
Insurance should only be for catastrophic occurrences (car wreck, bad illness requiring hospitalization, etc.).

if you valued your healthcare as much as you value showing off your fancy phone, you would have healthcare.
I have healthcare, my employees have healthcare. Pretending that its the government's responsibility instead of your own makes you the asshat.

Thanks to living in Socialist hell hold of the great state of Massachusetts and having Mitt Romney Care, I pay roughly $35 bucks a week for my insurance premium which includes a prescription card, eye care and dental under a decent insurance package from CIGNA. I also have a separate HSA but that's just a extra bit of insurance and a safety net.

When I lived in Freedom loving land full of Christians, Canadians, Dead British tourist and Guns nuts otherwise known as Florida, I paid about $130 a week for almost the same coverage..

Long live the free market damn those evil socialist by making me pay less for my health insurance..

There is a whole lot more to the ACA than simply ending the drain on emergency rooms and making sure everyone has insurance. In fact, it has already played a role in reducing health care costs overall. There are other ways that it will save more money in the long run (preventative care) as well.

Whether or not it "saves" more money in the long run remains to be seen.

In the meantime...going to the doctor is not one penny cheaper. Nor is going to the hospital. Prescription drugs are higher cost than ever.

Not sure where you can see that health care costs overall are cheaper when not ONE thing has been done to stop the price gouging by hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.

Until the actual CAUSE is addressed...we aren't doing anything at all but making sure that everybody (which doesn't really mean everybody) buys health insurance.

All the people who live paycheck to paycheck OR are unemployed OR are homeless and/or bums will still NOT buy insurance or pay the new "fine" (tax) when they don't. And they will still use the medical facilities...

And YES, people going to emergency rooms and other people who can't pay their medical bills were the bullshit excuse that hospitals used to very suddenly raise all their prices through the roof starting in the 1980's.

I guess people never did any of that prior to the late 1980's and it was just a sudden occurrence.

I was born in the day...but not yesterday.

And I KNOW from personal experience how it works. Had a hospital bill in 2002 that was outrageous (from a car accident). Had no health insurance. Hospital let me pay $500 a month on it while I was recovering. About 6 months in, they had a meeting with me and disclosed that the "real" cost of my hospital stay was a small fraction of what they were charging. I made the payoff for a few grand.

The whole scam was to hold hands with the insurance companies and charge exorbitant prices that nobody can pay.

It's all about money.

And nobody is ever going to stop that. Just too much money involved for any politician (including Baby Jesus Obama) to actually fix it.

This is the biggest scam of the health care industry which is why we need govt regulation.

You think the insurance companies pay $35 for a aspirin when you go to the hospital? No they sure as hell don't because they aren't stupid but they have the power to dictate what they are willing to pay. The average un-insured person in this country gets raped.

Look up the cost of prescription drugs in Europe & Canada, then compare that price for the same drug in the US. The insurance companies in the US pay a bit less than the cost you will see in Canada & Europe.

Meanwhile the average person is changed 3 or more times the amount in the US because our govt fails to regulate the pricing scheemes, in fact your co-pay usually cover the bulk of what it cost the insurance companies.

Right. The HMOs are nothing but parasites. They do nothing. They heal no one. They handle our money and decide whether they want to pay for our health expenses with it, or pocket it.

We need single-payer.

Massively wasteful, and rife with corruption.

How about those of us who grew up being taught that we should be responsible for ourselves? And that personal freedom was a good thing?

There was no Fox News when I was growing up in the 1960's, or as a teen in the 1970's, or as a young adult in the 1980's.

I'm not sure when the idea that the govt. , or anybody, is responsible for my debts suddenly became a "good" idea.

One thing is for sure...every penny you take from a govt. agency makes you beholden.

Just like if I handed either of you a large sum of money. You would owe me. Not the money, but you would owe me...just like in the mafia movies. lol

I don't want to be somebodies bitch...especially the govt.

That's the way me...and millions of other U.S. citizens (which neither of you are) were raised by our hard working parents and grandparents. You go to work, you get paid. YOU pay your bills with the money you are paid. End of story.

I edited to add a link that proves you are wrong on most of that wall of text. I don't really care either way but figured you might want to read it. If you're just posting for fun or something then please continue.

I read it...it says MEDICARE costs to the federal govt. will go down.

IF you read my "wall of text" (carefully thought out), you would have seen that I correctly stated that actual COSTS of going to the doctor, or the hospital, or your prescription drugs continue to go up.

I don't give a fuck what some politicians in Washington D.C. do to cook the books. If a pill cost you $4 last year and it costs $4.25 this year. It went UP.

The costs are not going down in any way for the actual services and products.
