Look up the cost of prescription drugs in Europe & Canada, then compare that price for the same drug in the US. The insurance companies in the US pay a bit less than the cost you will see in Canada & Europe.
Meanwhile the average person is changed 3 or more times the amount in the US because our govt fails to regulate the pricing scheemes, in fact your co-pay usually cover the bulk of what it cost the insurance companies.  |
Right. The HMOs are nothing but parasites. They do nothing. They heal no one. They handle our money and decide whether they want to pay for our health expenses with it, or pocket it.
We need single-payer.
Massively wasteful, and rife with corruption.
