Wilbo 12-03-2002 09:35 AM

Wow, is this true Dollars4all.com?

eroswebmaster 12-03-2002 09:35 AM

I can't wait for some big gov agency to come in and rattle a few people's cages...it would be so fun to hear about some of these guys going to prison.

justsexxx 12-03-2002 09:35 AM

Confused

justsexxx 12-03-2002 09:36 AM

How did you find this? You login to their own stats area?

ControlThy 12-03-2002 09:37 AM

Wilbo 12-03-2002 09:38 AM

Something leads me to believe we might have a disgruntled employee on our hands ;) and btw...who the fuck is a "gruntled" employee?

Shooter 12-03-2002 09:40 AM

Geez you'd have to shave with retention like that

Gary 12-03-2002 09:41 AM

those retention rates are awful, plus they seem to shave quite a bit.

Va2k 12-03-2002 09:41 AM

Fucking awesome good job on the hack :)

FlyingIguana 12-03-2002 09:42 AM

so is this how most paysites make money? throw up some plug in content, shave like mad and make extra coin on upsells?

Jak 12-03-2002 09:43 AM

Dayum.

Jak

suesheboy 12-03-2002 09:43 AM

Keep posting this and forward to to whom ever in the governement controlls these things.

I would assume the attorney general

Daymare 12-03-2002 09:44 AM

holy shit... they are BIG time shavers

Wilbo 12-03-2002 09:46 AM

I wonder what their new name will be when they close up and come back?

Alvaro 12-03-2002 09:46 AM

hehe, im waiting to see dbarry's words.. he owns it

.:Frog:. 12-03-2002 09:47 AM

Yikes!!!!!!!

Mutt 12-03-2002 09:47 AM

maybe more interesting is how little business they are doing. even with that huge razor they aren't making anything, must be something else going on because with numbers like that they have to be losing money.

Serious eye opener.

Trax 12-03-2002 09:49 AM

damn

All these pay per sign ups shave.. This is how they pay you $35 a trial sign up.. ALL OF THEM.. Have you ever seen the inside of some these sites? What a joke..

Our files will prevail in determining amount of valid hits, signups, and E-mail subscribers.

Ummmmm, which one of your files will prevail?

RockDaddy 12-03-2002 10:03 AM

never mind

justsexxx 12-03-2002 10:05 AM

WOW how did you found out?

Andre

Jakke PNG 12-03-2002 10:06 AM

Funny. :)

heymatty 12-03-2002 10:08 AM

wow, thats an eye opener

from the user / pass looks like a custom hack done for someone, I wonder if they have any more planned :)

SpaceAce 12-03-2002 10:08 AM

You can't see it in the screenshot, but the column on the far right (yep/nope) is actually labelled "Shave".

I wonder what's really going on here.

SpaceAce

justsexxx 12-03-2002 10:10 AM

Yeah better could make a screenshot of that as well, before dollars4all find out:)

jimmy3way 12-03-2002 10:11 AM

That's funny but true. There are some sites that don't shave but most of the big pay per sign ups do.

My advice: find a site that doesn't shave and send your traffic there.

Paul Markham 12-03-2002 10:11 AM

What amamzes me is thety are stupid enough to put that info on the net. Did they not think someone has the brains to hack into it??

Sounds like they can look at a glance and see whether a webmaster is getting credit on the rebills or not by the "Yep, this one was shaved", "Nope, this one wasn't shaved".

And lets call it what it is... Theft!

If you had 100 sales you would have been "shaved" $1770 if you promoted the teen site. Pretty serious if you ask me.

SpaceAce 12-03-2002 10:15 AM

Hm, I hate to say it but this looks kind of real.

Check out ...

Whoa! Looks like it just got shut down.

Oh, well, http://www.dollars4all.com/administration was full of other things like "build_pwd_database.php" and "admin.php", etc. Also, a bunch of data dirs. It looked like a real administrative script collection.

SpaceAce

ServerGenius 12-03-2002 10:15 AM

I guess we won't see a reply from dollars4all in this thread

DynaMite :1orglaugh

ServerGenius 12-03-2002 10:17 AM

Yep it's closed now hahaha

DynaMite

ServerGenius 12-03-2002 10:17 AM

A tat too late I'm afraid though :1orglaugh

DynaMite

SpaceAce 12-03-2002 10:19 AM

Sure we'll see a reply. Someone is going to have to come in here and tell us how it was all faked by some hacker/ex employee. Doesn't matter, though, even if it isn't true, I'd day their sunk. At least with anyone who logged in before it got shut down.

SpaceAce
P.S. - Second possibility: someone will come on the board and say "shame on you" to everyone who logged in "illegally" to view their "confidential" information.

Brad Mitchell 12-03-2002 10:20 AM

Holy Moly never seen anyone caught redhanded like that before.

Brad

RockDaddy 12-03-2002 10:21 AM

I wonder if we'll still get the usual rally of sponsors claiming that shaving doesn't exist and that we are just being paranoid or that maybe it's our traffic, or our banners are stale, or we need to improve our sales abilities,etc.. lol

Dirty F 12-03-2002 10:24 AM

Almost every sponsor shaves....prolly not as much as these guys tho.

.:Frog:. 12-03-2002 10:24 AM

Why is this theft allowed but someone stealing a chocolate bar from a 711 would get in more trouble? I don't understand.

Is there no place to report such shady business?

of course it is possible some ex-employee planted that page and leaked the login/password. Its impossible to tell.

Well it is now well known that "shaving" does happen, however, it is unfair to accuse all programs of shaving.

jimmy3way 12-03-2002 10:27 AM

Am I the only one who noticed that that file contained..uh maybe I am.

Nevermind.

Hee hee, got work to do.

justsexxx 12-03-2002 10:29 AM

I expected that someone would close that account and a friend uploaded it on a freehost server:-)

http://www12.brinkster.com/gfyd4all/dollar1.html

RockDaddy 12-03-2002 10:29 AM

They are based out of the netherlands so you probably have no legal jurisdiction there. One more thing to take into consideration when promoting a sponsor now I guess.

Although, I've been doing this since '96 and this is the first "documented" evidence I've ever seen. I'm sure it will be a very long time before you ever see it again. Sadly.
