Im seriously considering moving to somewhere warm and where the dollar is worth more.

Last few days ive gathered quite some info but still im not sure where to go.

I want to keep an appartment here in Amsterdam but live like 6 months a year in another country and spend my dollars there.

Im looking for a tax free country as i will move my business there as well.

Im looking for something warm and safe.

The best i could find was the Bahama's and the city Nassau but it looks like the cost is living is quite expensive there.

Anybody any input?

Costa Rica. i've thought repeatedly about getting a small place there to live part-time.

Steen2 11-26-2004 12:13 AM

Tax havens?

Gibraltar, Panama, Caymans, USA, Belize, the list goes on.

Google is your friend.

Theo 11-26-2004 12:17 AM

bill people in euro

i think that's the best solution to try

I know what countries there are, i have google as well, just hoping someone has more inside info. What countries are nice to live and which ones are not, etc.

More and more sponsors will bill in Euro i think.

Dirty F 11-26-2004 12:20 AM

But im not considering this just because of the low dollar. Ive been busy with this for a while now, i have no reason to stay here during the winters. But now the dollar going insane i feel hurrying it a bit.

Doctor Dre 11-26-2004 12:20 AM

I know a spot but you really don't wanna travel back and forth . Cost of plane tickets will be huge

I want something that is quite easy to reach, not 2 days of travel and 3k to get there.

emthree 11-26-2004 12:23 AM

Why not just move your accounts offshore?
Plus use offshore sponsors? or sponsors who are willing to pay/bill from other locations?

CET 11-26-2004 12:26 AM

Sounds like either Mexico, Thailand or Singapore would be good spots. :2 cents:

Because im tired of living in Holland 12 months a year. Holland is a great country but i hate winters. I can work anywhere where there is a internet connection. I wouldnt being in a warm country surrounded by bikini babes while drinking a margarita a few months a year...i have no reason not to do that.

Amsterdam huh? that's where i plan on going :thumbsup

Hi Battuss,

I've been thinknig about it too for a long time now but the major issue is the damn Visa needed for long term stays in the various countries of interest. The only one that seems good to me is South Africa. No Visa needed but the crime rate is frightening and it takes 15 hours to get there by plane. All other countries require complexe request via their embassies. Let me know if you find a solution! Euro zone islands are cool but deal in euros and that's the problem.

Africa is also not an option for me. Im really thinking about south/middle America and yes the visa thing will be the biggest problem most likely. Some countries let you in with enough cash on your bank account tho.

And most important of all, what are the women like? Good looking?

Lev 11-26-2004 01:09 AM

Nigeria will be your best bet :thumbsup

Lacoste 11-26-2004 01:15 AM

Health insurance is cheap, not an issue. The visa to Costa Rica is only valid 3 months then you must apply and the plane ticket is pretty expensive (about 1250 euros) depature from mardrid. Not intresting.

yeh the dollar sucks over here in aus as well :(

Jakke PNG 11-26-2004 01:48 AM

I'm seriously considering a move to malaysia, I got some friends over there.

The downside is that it's a muslim country and I think porn is illegal. :(

The positive thing is that it's dirt cheap and that the currency is on a fixed rate to usd.
I gotta look more into the legalities.
