The fact that you support something like this is horrible... I don't care if you think it's good to use against the tubes or not... These extensions are meant to blacklist everything and require you to whitelist sites, and normal users won't customize it that much, they'll just install the extension and go on their merry way never seeing an advertisement again.

You don't get it do you? How do people make money on their websites? They put up advertisements next to your content that you give them to get sales on your sites... These programs block them too... Therefore you're enabling people blocking LEGITIMATE ads too.

We work off the premise of providing content and products, people promote via hardlinks. When I hit a site that has pop up after pop up or under, I want to to take a baseball bat and crush the mutherfuckers skull into goo. Sick of it.

Most people understand the need for advertising on websites, and most are ok with some ads appearing. This isn't the problem. The real problem is with OVER-advertising either by super aggressive marketing companies, dumb webmasters, or both.

Alot of advertisers think that more is better. They think that hammering the fuck out of end users is the way to get seen. They have either never heard the word "targeted" ads, or they can't be bothered with it.

Take Youtube for example. Youtube used to COOL and a FUN destination. Now ads pop-up in the vidoes I want to watch forcing me to click to close them. Even worse are ads that force me to watch 5 seconds before I can "click to skip" the ad.

Problems like Ad Blocker are a GOOD IDEA, and I'm saying this even though we spend money on advertising all the time. The Internet Advertising industry as a whole is just getting a little out of control, ignoring customer surfing habits in exchange for more more more. Although I want my ads to be seen, I don't blame surfers who want ad blocking software at all.

Want proof? How pissed off do you get at yet another Live Jasmin Pop-under, with some annoying twit moaning through your speakers when you didn't want or expect it?

I am old school and obviously attitudes have changed drastically since my days. Perhaps one of the biggest changes has been the change from a "modestly gentleman's approach" toward others earning their living from smut.. To a "fuck you asshole I am going get what ever I can" attitude.

The majority of tube sites are not factoring anyone or anything other than themselves. They neglect (sometimes even ridicule) all others that are involved in this industry who are trying to earn a living too.

Now having read what you posted it appears to me that you are somone of at least modest intelligence and perhaps even an accomplished businessman. Therefore you know as well as I know that a good reputation is one of the biggest, most valuable assets of any business. And that repuation does not just involve how the end user views them but also how industry colleges, employees, etc perceive them as well.

When any business adopts a cold callous unsympathetic and negative attitude towards any group. Sooner or later that business should expect some sort of eventual retaliation. Especially if their actions are directly responsible for preventing others from putting food on their table and paying their bills.

Now no one is trying to stop anyone from making a dollar and no one is certainly trying to control how many dollars somone earns. But consequently no one should be bulldozering others without concern or remorse....

So are you telling me that these guys, a group of hardworking and legitimate webmasters should just say "welp, oh well, as long as none of pornhub.com's ads are showing, then I'm okay losing a good portion of our income."

I'm just trying to put into a language we all get. I'm not against ADS, just the ones that pop up endlessly when you log in or hit a banner or an AD you think is a photo but is actually a pop up.

As a surfer, that shit pisses me off and makes me think to never buy anything from a porn site cause I am annoyed. Especially the site doing it to me. If people make sales from idiots who are ok with it...just wait for the chargebacks once the surfer's mommy sees the bill. lol.

I am in favour of almost anything that hurts the free porn supported by advertising. Granted I am against the piracy but let me add 2 other reasons.

1) I am old school and I have been at this for more than 40 years. In a very real way this is a "family" owned and operated business for me. Now I am not hurting financially by any measure. But I do not like seeing where the current attitudes and behaviours have gone and I have a grand child that is taking over my business. I would like to see my grand child continue business in the same way I do/did. In fact I do not want to see my grand child have to become a disrespectful asshole that believes they are entitled everything without ever lifting a finger.

2) There are too many fucking *punters* involved in this industry. And sadly a *punter* does not care about anyone except their desires and getting to play big shot. Porn occupies the same place as alcohol and cigarettes. Today's punter controlled chanels of distribution do little or nothing to prevent children from accesing our products and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Children got their hands on porn in the old days. But in the old days they did not get it directly from me (or someone like me) Instead they had to sneak around to get it. And that made a big difference in the way a young man grew up and treated a woman. Today's young men think it is perfectly acceptable to treat woman the same way he would treat a blow up doll.

Don't get used to it, but I agree with KillSwitch this time - The Adblock progs are a massive issue.

I have seen a few scripts that can fuck them up - I will see if I can find them.

Advocating the blocking of normal on page ads on sites is just killing the golden goose, however so is throwing a dozen pop-ups and pop-unders to surfers.
