Xbiz to go out of business
That's my next prediction. I nailed it with epassporte, too fucking predictable.

What exactly do they do, run an adult industry news site and some shows? Not a great market to be hitting up for ad dollars these days. Do they do anything else? |
Bad business model in general.

I wont even read stories published by XBIZ these days, and no longer visit the site.

Is Xbiz really that hated?
|
I doubt it. They provide a superior product in their trade mag compared to the others. Who knows what all they have cooking under the hood. But they certainly do not appear to be hurting for money.
I would say it's more realistic that they will be one of the last viable companies standing in the next 12-24 months when adult is a ghost town. But I suppose time will tell, as it always does, in such things. |

I'm an xbiz advertiser and they don't seem to be slowing down at all? Their social network is incredible and I've pulled plenty of business from them over the past couple of years.
|
IE, you're their bitch.

I really hope people stop messing around with their stupid awards, its a big joke they playing on you. The award means total shit yet all of you people fly the banners (awards) on your sites and on here and give them lots of free traffic. congrats on getting played. If companies still care about their awards in the future I think I will be skipping over those companies and doing business with someone else. Quote:

There are some good people there. Why all the hate? ...really?

hmm interesting

Sounds like a rumor.

We have done very well advertising with Xbiz, sponsoring their shows and I can tell you that Alec, Moe, Kristen and the rest of the crew are all very smart, easy to work with and good at what they do. I think their mags are excellent and they have good writers. Xbiz.net is jumpin' and they have done very well with the shows (as good as a company can do with adult shows these days) and they always work hard to promote those who support them.

Havent been keeping up with the news as of late. Why are people so upset with XBiz? Or is this just typical GFY bitching?
How did they "support .xxx" and so what if they did? Do they own part of it or something and spin news or something covering it? Thats the only think I could thing of that would be worth bitching about. Other than that whats the deal? Typical GFY bitches? Or is it something more? Spill it. I actually look forward to getting my issue in the mail every month. |
Can you predict who I'm going to marry? I'll pay for that one.

Does anyone else kind of find it odd that only 22% of the people who replied to the xbiz poll said they were against .XXX and the other 78% said they either support it or didn't care either way??? Here is the link to the XBiz poll: http://www.xbiz.com/polls/poll.php?id=119287 interesting, it's a blank page now. By comparison, a poll run on GFY during the same time: fucking-around-and-business-discussion/714663-icann-approved-xxx-vote.html (88% against!) Lawley has been an active poster on the XBIZ forums. Lawley is givin plenty of lip service within the XBIZ pages. XBIZ.net is one of the premium and most well-established adult-industry, discussion boards. It is a members-only board, and membership is restricted adult -industry professionals. Stuart Lawley must agree with that assertion because xbiz.net is the only network he joined and the only adult board on which he decided to contribute. http://www.freespeechcoalition.com/xxx.html The nature of the public comment period provoked press interest, particularly in the technology press. Articles regarding the comment period appeared in the following outlets (in no particular order): the BBC, The Register, Domain Name Wire, DomainIncite, The UWM Post, Tech.Blorge, WorldNetDaily, CircleID, PC Magazine, PC World, ZDNet, GeekSugar, Silicon Republic, V3.co.uk, The Domains, Xbiz, among others. In general, the articles that expressed an opinion came down in favour of "option 1" and the approval of the dot-xxx application. This opinion was also largely reflected in comments to the articles from readers and in online polls. http://www.circleid.com/posts/a_summ...od_on_dot_xxx/ Lastly and most importantly I do not recall XBIZ comming out and denying that they support .XXX. You would think they would make a release about where they stand but have yet to do. I also find it kind of funny that all .XXX press releases come out of XBIZ first. YOu have been informed bro! |
I still like reading their stuff. In the office just the other day we were commenting how much content was in the mag as compared to AVN which just seems to be ads now.

1. Do YOU actually get the trade mag monthly? I mean the hard copy version. Based on your shared opinion, I'd say you do not. |
