Bro, the ocean...just like the porn biz, goes beyond California...

I was thinking we all go to Cancun, or better yet....out of Mexico and onto a tropical island. The Bahamas or Jamaica sound fun!

Or we could all go to Europe...

Just anywhere with a little freedom would be nice!

i know this place is not as exiting as Vegas but you are always welcome here

Czech Republic

On December 14, 2009, the Czech Republic adopted a new law that took effect on January 1, 2010, and allows a person to possess up to 15 grams of marijuana or 1.5 grams of heroin without facing criminal charges. These amounts are higher (often many times) than in any other European country, making the Czech Republic the most liberal country in the world when it comes to drug liberalization.[9]

I don't use alcohol or drugs. this is my home and where I work... I'm a sex shooter, if I need to move I'll go somewhere close where the agents can supply the girls. mexico is closer than AZ or NV... the fags are trying just as hard to shut FL down as well. we will probabaly all set up in SD and work in TJ just across the border.

well, i don't use drugs either, that one was just for Robbie ;)

but setting up shop in Mexico doesn't sound very promising either, most things i hear about that place recently are drugs and murder. i could imagine that when the mexicans realize that money can be made that way they might want a share. and it sounds like they don't accept a no

We did a lot of shopping when my daughter got married. No one came close to $50k, I don't think anyone we talked to even asked five figures.

You must be talking about a Chelsea Clinton wedding.

Too bad I don't smoke pot or shoot heroin.
I'd sure love to visit that part of Europe though.

If you are shooting in California and any of these new rules go into effect, you guys are screwed.
Robbie I am one of twelve people on the subcommittee and the policy we come up with has to be effective as the NATIONWIDE policy.

I can assure you that anyone who thinks they will be able to produce content, ANYWHERE in the United States that does not follow this policy is sadly mistaken.

Call me and I will fill you in what is really going on, no one else on this board, or any other board is on the subcommittee.

If you're looking around for quotes, you're not likely to run into this end of the market. It's all done on recommendation. They don't advertise in Yellow Pages.

Yes it's a rich crowd. The kind of people who go to a wedding planner, church, dress which can cost $5,000, outfits for the bridesmaid, best man, ushers, big reception for 100s, cars, flowers, etc. Even over night hotel stays for some guests. It mounts up fast. This end of the market will and do pay $3,000 and up for a good shooter. Stills and video, arranging lights, getting the sound right, etc. All costs money.

Then there's the "afters" for the shooter. Copies of the prints or video. Nice earner.

The nationalities where it's customary to give the bride and groom money instead of presents. Go for this end if they can afford it. My aunt married a Greek Cypriot and they spent $40,00, according to my father. Big Greek Orthodox church in London, Hotel reception in Central London for what must of been 300 people plus. They walked away with a profit.

About 1975. It was before my first daughter was born in 1977. Shudder to think what it would cost today.

They were dressmakers and invited every single person they knew. Family, friends, business acquaintances. Anyone who would give money and not wanting to be seen pinning a $50 bill to the brides dress.

Will the law, if it is, apply to American citizens?

If so moving to the moon won't make them exempt.

If it does, good news for us non US citizens. I might pick up a camera again.

#1. Naturally, photographers, DJ's and catering were all shopped by recommendation.

#2. $3,000 for a shooter is a far cry from $50k

I'd be real interested in finding out how a subcommittee in California is going to tell me how to do business. Or a guy shooting in tennessee, or texas or anywhere for that matter. I'll ignore it just like everybody that is sane will. I don't know what's gotten into the govt. in California, but they are out of their minds. You know I'm your friend Dan....but I have no intention on doing what your subcommittee tells me to do. And I assure you I WILL produce content.

Watch me brother...I won't get fined one time. And I won't get locked up either. And neither will the thousands of other independent websites shooting content all over the country everyday. L.A. producers don't realize how big this business really is. You're just a handful of guys who are local to AVN and XBiz so that area gets all the press. Reality is more people actually SEE the content that is being shot outside of porn valley. Some of these sites shot outside of Porn Valley get HUGE traffic and sales.

And if OSHA wants to come to my house and tell me what I can and can't do when shooting video and pics of my own wife...good fucking luck to them.

It ain't gonna work.

And it won't work on Rachel Aziani, and it won't work on Kelly Madison, and it won't work on Celeste Fox, and it won't work on Brittany Love, and it won't work on Brandi Love and it won't work...I can keep going and going.

We will continue to shoot and produce as we please. The people getting hurt by this kind of insanity are the same ones getting destroyed by piracy...porn studios shooting the same pack of stripper/escort/porn girls out of porn valley for generic porn sites.

Don't get me wrong...I love those girls and their work. But they are all over the place for free which has already decreased production out there. And now the govt.. wants to jump on you with this craziness? Just saying, you guys are in for a lot of headaches. I'm glad I'm not in your shoes.

I'm thinking that TJ could become a big spot for shooting. Just like it is now a big spot for medical procedures and boob jobs.

I'm guessing you're following the news as these "rules and regulations" are getting schemed up there...what's your general "gut" feeling? Do you think they are really gonna have condoms and goggles on people in a scene to prevent bodily fluids from being exchanged?

I'm just shocked that with the economy falling to pieces...that California is actually trying to destroy one of the little things it has left.

And again...if this goes through, all the girls in L.A. are gonna do is just escort a little more and dance an extra night at the club. Shooting porn is only to get higher prices for themselves dancing and hooking anyway. It's all synergistic for them to make more money in the "real world".

Nothing will change, except Los Angeles won't be making a nice chunk of tax money that it currently does make. The girls will just replace their lost income with tax free cash money from dancing and hooking. And production of porn scenes will simply move to another area.

It's just insanity. It's like California has a financial death wish or something.

Just like some digital wedding photographers today who charge over $100,000 per wedding! That's correct. Over $100,000 per wedding and their work from a technical standpoint looks like it was shot by a slide film photographer about 10 years ago!

Nah not political correctness....I was just quoting the relevant part that mattered to me. I also know it's the damn Pink Cross Foundation that started a lot of this bullshit. And I see AVN selling them a fucking booth at the AEE every year. It's ridiculous.

Our "industry" has much bigger opponents than "homos". Gay production will be hurt even more by these insane regulations. Especially the new ones that would require you to buy insurance against "injuries" which Michael Fatarosi is already saying could be things like anal prolapse.

Well, gay guys do anal in every scene. So these California rules and regulations affect them just as much if not more.

This has nothing to do with homosexuality, and everything to do with religious insane people looking to put you out of business in California.

But if you want to hate gay people...be my guest. I don't.

This has nothing to do with homosexuality, and everything to do with religious insane people looking to put you out of business in California.

But if you want to hate gay people...be my guest. I don't.
no hate, in fact not even any interest. it's just straight politics Robbie... you want something from me, give me something. you want my vote, lay off my job

If you're shooting content outside of LA or the state of New Hampshire (or is it Vermont?) you're guilty of pandering. In Arizona -- where I'm from -- it's a class 6 felony.

Will the cops in your area enforce the pandering law?

Depends.

If they choose to enforce it on you, are you in trouble?

Depends.

Are you immune to these laws?

Nope.

Anytime you pay a model, and you told her what time to be on your set, and what to do while she was there, she's your employee.

Will OSHA enforce its employer/employee laws in your area?

Depends.

If they choose to, are you in trouble?

Depends.

Are you immune to these laws?

Nope.

If she earns more than $600 bucks in a calendar year, you're to report her income to the IRS. If you don't, they'll eventually find you.

And her.

None of this has anything to do with LA porn people, or independent web sites, or how big this business is, or the content being shot in (or out) or Porn Valley...or anything more that what's already established law, and if the local/federal authorities are gonna choose to enforce what's on the books if they come after you.

lol - then i guess you have switched sigs off and overlooked dozens of threads where i announced content sales and posted pics

but honestly: i don't like to spam and i indeed prefer a more non-aggressive sales technique. it worked at least good enough to be here for 7 years now and still doing well.

but i will think about how i can improve awareness - green watermarks are a no-no though

People are really missing the point and purpose of the subcommittee.

Within the next few days. I am going to write a detailed statement of what that current nationwide OSHA laws are for blood born pathogens, what the subcommittee is trying to accomplish, and what my personal beliefs are in this matter.

Dan, it was all in the papers some years ago about "blood born pathogens" when they attempted to pull the same stupid stuff at wrestling, boxing, MMA, and other events where bleeding and sweat are in play. It failed then too.

In my humble opinion...some of the folks in California get a little too full of themselves and they bring the eye of the govt. down on them. Just be careful man. Once you get your name up in front of govt. officials you become the next target.

One good way to do that is to get on a "subcommittee"
You should know from your years of shooting that the best policy is to keep your head low. Once you become a "spokesman" for this business, your days are numbered. I've seen it happen a few times now.

Exactly. Some people run porn a business with less skill than it takes to run a market stall.

Anyone without employees liability and accident insurance is risking a multi million dollar law suit. Model hurts themselves on your shoot, your liable. Just the threat of having to defend it will send most squealing if they don't have insurance.

I know. If i had of said the prices some pay I would of been flamed for exaggerating. Parts of this thread illustrate the wealth of some.

Not really. It was a no brainer.

Our sets were often returning 10+ times what custom would of.

I just have to put up with a few custom shooters telling me I don't understand how the Internet works.
