Question about .info and .us domains
I thought about getting some domains with these extensions for adult blogs. Are .info and .us domains bad for SEO? I've heard mixed things about it. I thought it would be a cheap way of building some new sites. Any opinions?

In short yes.
It will take more work to get a .info into a good position compared to a .com or .net . Also watch for the renewal costs, while .infos etc can be cheap to start with, they end up rebilling for a bit, which is where they get you. Lastly its harder to get trades for those shitty tld's .. I know I won't trade with a .info, because honestly most of them are only around for a short while. |

stick with a .com even if you need to use multiple words.

If you can get some solid keywords (i.e. no brandable domains) in a .info or .us domain for a reasonable price, it's worth pursuing for a blog. Paysites should definitely stick to non-hyphenated .com's. I have some top 100 keywords in alt extensions and get decent SEO results with them.
Wholesale renewal prices for these extensions are in the ballpark of .com, so you should be able to find some reasonable retail prices at most registrars.

If they are good keywords, then it is definitely a good idea to get .us or .info domains. As far as ranking goes, .info does not rank very good but .us rank fine.
The key is getting a good domain name, for example, I got ExGF.us and it's a double bonus, short domain, niche specific and all other ExGf extensions were already taken so it was a good domain to pick up. By the way, ExGF.us domain is for sale here: https://gfy.com/sell-and-buy-forum/955748-exgf-domain-sale.html Shamelss plug ![]() |
