Two things:

1. Why don't all these Programs that are closing switch to Revshare and keep their affiliates? I mean, why shut down? okay, to keep the $, right, but couldn't they just change their biz model?

2. Time to start promoting CCBill Programs (like PeabodyCash!)

Good luck to those hurt by yet another "one" biting the dust.

Didn't they stop paying people several months ago? I know I can't get them to pay me so this comes as no surprise.

Because they had Revshare as well. And when the new income stops and you're paying out a ton of rebills to affiliates and not making anything for yourself...then that's when you close the affiliate program.

Whether we like it or not...an affiliate program is designed to make money for the owner. When it becomes a liability and you are making less than your affiliates, then you close it down.

The Quickbuck sites were generic porn websites. That stuff is everywhere on the tubes and torrents for free. So new "real" sales were pretty much impossible to make for it. Then the squeeze starts on the x-sell model and the smartest thing that they could do is exactly what they did: Shut down the affiliate program and make money.

Sucks for us affiliates. My account is "terminated" too. But since I haven't made any sales with them in the last couple of years since torrents and tubes blew up...I had nothing to lose anyway.

So you are saying that they could afford to pay out the large PPS payments for years, but suddenly out of nowhere they wouldn't be able to hack a full transition over to rev-share?

That really doesn't compute. However, best of luck to whatever they go on to next.

All these programs should send their links to TopBucks so we can map their IDs, that way we can take over the WM payments and keep the WMs making money!

Ahh, my dream world. It's fun inside.

Those programs don't rely on affiliates...they have less active than a small affiliate program. They purchased traffic and circle jerked the transactions through groups of friends. Once you take away the ability to cj the sales the chaining of income fails, the purchased traffic fails, and the entire network falls.

Yeah, if you payout a big ass PPS but you're monetizing that join and still making a profit off of it then it's all gravy. Millions of dollars worth of gravy. But if things changed and now you're just paying out a few rebills from old traffic I would say that they see no reason to keep paying it out.

Their content wasn't gonna draw (already free everywhere) and their affiliates (including me) don't have enough traffic anymore (most traffic is now at pornhub, redtube, etc.) to make it worth it to keep paying on those rebills.

It sucks. But that's what is happening and before it's all said and done I'm sure that many of the programs with generic non-exclusive content are gonna pull the plug in the same way.

Best any of us can do as affiliates is try to ride the storm out and see what's left in the end.

Quoted For Truth. Another sketchy sponsor bites it. Good.

But since I haven't made any sales with them in the last couple of years since torrents and tubes blew up...I had nothing to lose anyway.
partially right

not being able to pay revshare part i don't agree with you

that's the easiest thing ever to do (ie look at all the ccbill revshare sponsors)

I think you hit the nail on the head tho about not being able to convert & retain with old sites and generic content though.

IMO it could be done but it's just not as lucrative as it once was. so not worth the time or hassle of dealing with afiliates and the costs that come with that, plus having to start shooting some new content and new niches, etc etc

I'm sure Hooper has made his porn fortune by now anyways.

What a bunch of dicks.

There's no excuse for not paying rebills to your affiliates (whether this is the case with them or not, I don't know, I have no business with them. I am just going by what others have insinuated.) if you are still processing them. No excuse. If you pocket the money, you're a scumbag and I hope a pissed affiliate finds your personal information and spreads it along with how you ripped them off all over the internet as well as your hometown so you can't even open up a mainstream program or a physical business without being shit on. I know there's no way I'd just roll over if someone took off with my cash in that way.

I didn't say they couldn't pay the rebills. I'm saying they don't see any future in it for them, and see no reason to pay out even one more dollar from it. And no, I'm not saying it's "right". But businesses do that kind of shit all the time.

Just watching the local news here in Vegas and the Norwalk furniture store where I got some of my furniture here in Vegas...shut it's doors and left about a dozen people screwed. They showed this one woman who had ordered $2600 worth of furniture a few months ago, and they just closed up shop and kept her money.

Unfortunately, shit like that happens all the time.

thats fraud. The women likely paid with a credit card and can charge it back. Affiliates can't do that. Any company not continuing to pay out on revshare is fraud pure and simple and should be reported to the AG in that state, if they are in the US. I would throw them under the bus personally as well if any company pulled that shit with me on revshare.

That really doesn't compute. However, best of luck to whatever they go on to next.
Because they didn't "rebill" they did cross sales.. No one would rebill on shit sites like those..at least not on purpose.
