So what do you think about the guy that tried to blow up the Delta plane on Christmas day??

Here is my opinion on the situation:

#1. I think the homeland security director should be fired. (bring back ashcroft)

#2. I think she should start racially profiling these passengers.

#3. The gov should take the rest of that bail out money and buy x-ray body machines for all airports this year and install them by the end of 2010.

#4. Bomb sniffing dogs should be at every main security entrance at every metal detector until the machines are all installed. You can't get nothing buy a dog's nose.

#5. Don't let anyone on a plane anymore with carry on bags.

#6. Don't allow the media to tell people how to make bombs. If you watched the news cast on MSNBS, they showed you how to make a bomb out of PETN (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34616570...shington_post/), wake up people, your telling these idiots how to blow up shit!!

#7. The terror watch list should be on every airline's computer at check in and should auto check the passenger's names and auto deny them a ticket.

#8. All turbin's should have to fly in one plane, this way if they want to blow it up, they take themselves out and no American's get killed. (Alqida Airlines)..

I think none of that would have mattered since he did not board the plane in the US and therefore was not subject to US law.

I simply think that, unless they try their shenanigans in the bathroom, no terrorist will ever hold a plane of passengers hostage again like they did on 9-11.

But it was the US's watch list that allowed him to enter the country from an airline that is based in the USA. Delta is a major airline and if our homeland security was working he would have never got on the jet in the first place. Our embassy failed to relay the warning. I just think the (secretary) Napolitano should step down. I don't think she is capable of protecting our airways.

If that bomb went off during flight, everyone on that plane would have been killed.

Well I look at it this way, (1) for the US and (0) for Jihad at this point, It was the citizens of the plane that bum rushed this kid which is probably why that bomb didn't go off. According to the PETN or properties of that material he had, he had to light it on fire to get it to explode.. I'm sure the guy was trying to light his underwear on fire and someone figured that something wasn't right. Hell I heard of a wedgie but this would take the cake. I',m glad he burnt himself up!

No we don't live forever and we know this, but it is all our duty to keep a watchful eye, it's the governments duty to adhere to their own polices and safeguards that are beyond the reach or grasp of the private citizen. If they can't, someone has to be held accountable and get the fuck out the door like the secretary for example. If those people got killed on Friday, do you think the secretary would still have her job?

I think that it is somewhat funny that we say that 'our system failed' when the guy got on a plane in Nigeria with the bomb and was then missed in Amsterdam as well. Where the fuck is 'our system' in all of that? With the exception of not accepting the parent's earlier warnings as completely serious, I think that we made very few errors and I applaud the quick actions of the passengers and crew on that flight. But, I certainly think that we give Al Qaeda, the MILF (no, not hot moms), the Taliban, and every other terrorist organization, extremist, or insurgent a good laugh every time that we have these 'knee jerk' reactions (someone on here called it that, yesterday, and I think that it is a great analogy). All too often we quickly point the finger at ourselves and make everyone, except the root source of the problem, suffer because of it.

Like I said if the watch list was paid attention too or updated, then the service agent would have never allowed the kid to board the plane in Nigeria. It was a US plane, if it was Nigerian Airways or someone else I would agree with you BUT IT WAS A US PLANE, A PLANE THAT HAS OVER 2,000 DESTINATIONS INSIDE THE US! (don't you get it??). And yes we should look at ourselves, if we had 1/10th of the security measures in place back on 9/11 those towers would still be there.

The state department gave out the visa to this guy. The state department runs the embassy that his father gave a warning to. If you ask me this was more of a failure of the state department than homeland security.

You can keep make new rules to prevent the attacks of the past but they will always find a way around it. Everyone has to put their shoes through the X-ray machines because of the shoe bomber so this guy put the bomb in his underwear. Next time it will just be in a balloon up his ass if they start patting down our underwear.

We have to catch these guys much earlier and the state department could have done something about it.
