Welcome, neonlights.

I once heard a stripper say to me that she would do a 3-hour webcam session for me for $500.

edit......I think that is is yet another lame attempt at a fake nic.
you are right...i should stop thinking about this too much and just do it. i was a bit worried cause i read some articles about some guys getting busted because the content was too obscene.....but what is obscene ? its so vague and broad.

Good luck with your venture. A piece of advice; instead of posting a bunch of clueless questions, try reading the old threads and using the search function. You also might want to try being an affiliate of some sites for awhile. Running a site isn't as easy and grabbing a camera and point and shoot. ;)

now has anyone done this before? which off-shore jurisdiction is best?

Do you also have to shoot your content off-shore ? it seems the obscenity law is very broad and vague, what is the chance of getting busted like Max Hardcore ?

Thanks again, I will keep reading this thread.
If the police want to find you trust me they will. And Canada has obscenity laws so moving there will not work. Shooting offshore obscene content will not protect you. You need to see a local lawyer who knows the business. California allows things other States may not. If you want to stay safe stay a long way away from the Max Hardcore type content.

It's so tough it's going to cost you a fortune and unless you have something truly unique, which is tough for a newbie, it will not make any difference. The free loaders will watch other peoples videos.

I have a question.. how are content pruducers able to compete with the Russian content providers? They do that for crazy low prices, with beautiful girls.. how is that possible to compete with that if you are not from eastern Europe?

There are people who buy on price and people who buy on quality. A beautiful girl is only half the story, location and experience then come into play. Plus language which is a bummer for me.

If your dream is to shoot content then maybe you just focus on that for now. Build up a library of videos and stills and then try and sell them to others or market them yourself.

Just get releases from all of your talent and crew and plenty of ID's.

Offer to pay your models and actors what you can. Work with people who will work within your budget.

You should consult a lawyer who specializes in adult entertainment so you know what you need to do and your risks.

PMSL that Markham thinks this is serious.

After 30 years as a pornographer, one would have thought he would have more of a clue.
