Polish Government Is Going To Censor The Internet

Yes, that fucktards are preparing something like Australia did - The blacklist of all domains that are uncomfortable for them. They also want to illegalize the whole internet gambling.
This is breaking the humans rights to the freedom of information and speech! Fucking pigs!!! Remember your country may be next!

ahh wait ok i see it. They want to block internet gambling sites so people can't lie about their income, pedophile sites, etc.

It's not like australia. They aren't trying to block porn altogether. Shit, i can go to a gas station 500m away and buy porn dvds

This part is particularly interesting:

Polski rząd nie jest osamotniony w dążeniu do ograniczenia dostępu do internetu: państwa UE osiągnęły kompromis w sprawie nowej dyrektywy proponowanej przez Komisję Europejską, zgodnie z którą będzie możliwe blokowanie dostępu do internetu tym, którzy nielegalnie ściągają pliki i korzystają z niebezpiecznych stron, np. o treściach pedofilskich czy propagujących terroryzm.

More it less, that says that Poland is not alone and other countries in the EU are planning on blocking sites offering illegal downloads, known pedophile sites and those supporting terrorism.

If only they really were going to block cp and terrorism oriented sites it would not be any problem for anyone... but I am afraid this won't stop on sites like that..

If a website is illegal, why aren't the domain/IP shut down instead. It can't be THAT difficult??

Because that way the governments couldn't control us...so they use excuses like this to control everything we do and when we do it.

This move isn't the only threat:

As the U.S. backs off its control of ICANN and a more "global" influence escalates, folks are going to see a lot of things that they never imagined, re: content restrictions and country-level adult firewalls, similar to those used by China and other countries.

"Freedom of speech" is an American value. Sadly, I think many countries will now see (or be prevented from seeing) just how true that is...

You really believe that? The US has less true 'freedom of speech' than almost any central/western EU country. True freedom in the US is a myth the gullible and unitenlligent believe sadly.

I think that the thought is probably in regards to sites that are in a foreign country but violate local laws.

The thing about CP sites is bullshit...I mean people know what sites have CP on them and do nothing about them? Like its ok to run them, but we won't show them to our surfers? Its just an excuse.

How would the Polish government enforce CP laws in other countries that don't have the same laws?

I don't really agree with the issue, by the way. Just pointing out that difference.

Only FBI is allowed to run illegal sites. And the other countries do "not" know about it.

Do you think all countries in the world care about CP and various other Internet enforcement as much as the Western world does? A good chunk of the world can barely afford to eat. Another chunk of the world is in total chaos. There are plenty of opportunities for people to get away with CP, they already are.

Whether or not something is legal matters little in many countries.

In general, poland is full of people with no money. Most people here don't make enough to pay for porn sites, and if they do make enough, why would they pay $30 for a porn membership when a super hot hooker costs $20?

Seriously, the people here are the worst in the world. Jealous bible thumbers. You have no idea the fucking looks i get when i stop at a gas station to fill up and some fucking geezer tries to stare me down because my cell phone is worth 3 times what his car is (average car in poland is 15 years old). There is no middle class here. People make 400 euro a month after 5 years of university, or they making 10k euro a month because they run a company. This place sickens me sometimes. Every announcement the government makes, its just making this place worse and worse. There is so much corruption here it's not even funny. Just recently they started putting fotoradar on the streets disguised as garbage bins to steal more money from people.

This block is probablying pushing the agenda of the catholic church which is against porn and gambling. There are days when I literally have to live off gas station hot dogs and potato chips because i don't have a calendar and they pull some fucking holiday out of their asses you have never heard of and everythign is closed. Religion has way too much power here...

You guys aren't losing anything if our gov't blocks porn sites, although I doubt this thing will even pass because I'm fairly certain its against some european union regulations.

They literally just took these things out of service last year and replaced them with Kia Cee'd police cars:

Poland is doing fine. It's getting better every year. Recently, there has been a discussion about obligatory blog registration (some argued it should be controlled just as regular press). Media liked the topic, dumb people were in panic etc. I believe we will see a replay with the censorship issue... Good luck Poland!

Yes, you've got some strong and true points there.
That's why we've decided to leave Poland and work and study abroad.
My parents couldn't stand I was sitting in home next to computer all days (they were telling me that my money are virtual and don't really exist, lol, besides they were always nervous about that I spend so much time in front of the computer) Shit, I was already an adult person, I finished my studies and theoretically I could do what I wanted... nope, not in Poland... instead of my web work they found me a job where the dude (fucking fat bastard) was paying me about 150 pounds a month for a full time office job and was treating me like a dog shit ... can you imagine that? That was legal and very responsible job... (shit, I took this shit, perhaps I needed some change, or a bit of rest or I just wanted to show them that I can do other things) Anyway, after 6 moths I left the job and country, staying there would mean no tomorrow for me and my future wife and perhaps, who knows my future kids. I don’t want to always fight for making ends meet… and when I finally will retire I will get ill and they will say in the hospital that they have no money to treat me (yes, that's true - 90% of hospitals in the East of Poland have finished their this year budgets and they are taking now only patients who are literally dying at the moment) and I will have no money to afford a private doctor.

Yup, Polish traffic probably like Chinese is not converting very well but that’s not a point lol I don’t block any suffers on my websites. Though, I always look at the bright sites, more surfers more chances they will post my links somewhere and I will get more visibility and better ranks. If anyone of you don't want Polish traffic then just block it (.htaccess)

And yes in Poland rule two things corrupted politicians and sowing seeds of hatred father director Rydzyk. Fuck them

This all makes me so sad... because I love and hate my mother country at the same time. I miss it every day, I miss my friends, I miss my home, I miss my city, I miss my dog, shit I even miss Polish environment (trees, animals, the air etc) however, I can’t go back in the next 5-10 years because that would mean no future for me and my girl

In 2004 in Poland the police investigated charging a heavy metal band for "religious offence" (which is punishable by 2 years in jail) and the police ended up confiscating the live video footage of the concert.

i don't think Polish traffic or any traffic is worthless, even that so, it will give a bad example to other countries, so this kinda shameful law should never pass.

i m sick of seeing conservative mofos keep putting their dirty nose to other's businesses and really enough is enough.

they will never learn from the lesson, Iran is a good example to them, Mollas keep getting big fuck You from Their own citizens, thats why these last elections gone nuts, but You know, it is hard to tell scholastic brains...

Nothing to worry about yet, this hasn't been passed into law anyways.

Come on, I don't take it so seriously but you have to admit this situation looks kind of interesting. And BTW your link shows the same thing (in terms of GDP) - just click the countries and don't look at colours - dark blue doesn't mean higher GDP than light blue...

Anyway, I just want to bring some optimism here. Some shit is still happening but it's not THAT bad as people said above. You CANNOT compare country with 20years of capitalism with US and Western Europe countries. Compared to other Eastern Europe (f.e. Baltic States) we're doing just fine.

Back to the topic. This is only a simple proposal. Nothing is happening yet and it probably won't. If it happens it's not like they're going to block porn...

Dark blue means euro region. I know gdp is down in many countries, but in may its also +, on your pic only Poland is in positive numbers. But Europe is fucked anyway, I just wish the dollar/euro value would reflect that.

It's not like australia. They aren't trying to block porn altogether. Shit, i can go to a gas station 500m away and buy porn dvds
Right, same going on here, but only an idiot would think that this will "end" cp ... most big cases against cp are bases on p2p or other data trades.

Could be a plus for us if sites like rapidshare, etc. would be blocked. I'm personally no friend of censorship of any kind, but business-wise this could be "good" ... known cp/terrorist/etc sites ... ok, as i already said, it won't make a big difference, but they can try ...

Well, in fact it is, try shutting down a server in xy (insert any 3. world country here) ... good luck

What he said ... freedom of speech in the US is an illusion ...

It's not about beeing legal. But in many countries there are so many problems it takes years to make a move against cp hosters - just because they've to solve the 1000 murder cases per day first ...

Oh, yeah, you're right - dark blue means euro region. But anyway:
1) My stats are facts. Yours are prognosis.
2) Both show that Poland is the leader in EU in terms of GDP growth.

Yeah, the dollar/euro is the pain in the ass :/

Actually, I think all Europeans are pesimistic compared to Americans.
