well as for the resume, i've decided to write that i promoted dating affiliate programs like someone mentioned above. i don't know about you guys, but half my friends have lost their jobs b/c of the economy. i kinda see this as my lead in to the real world... "was doing well for a bunch of years and then when the recession came things went south." this is a common story these days.

as for the change in lifestyle as opposed to job, i just don't think i can do it any more. i find myself not showering for days b/c i don't really need to leave the house. then when i do leave the house i feel more alive then ever...i could get an office, but i would sit in there alone, i could go to the gym, but it would only be for an hour or two. (i am aware of my unhealthy habits and am slowly trying to change)

all in all it's affected to0 many aspects of my life, hell half the girlfriends i've had over the years never even knew what i did. also, i used to not mind telling people what i did for a living, but now i just skirt around the issue and they totally pick up the vague-ness. i want to do something i'm a bit proud of...may sound funny, but it's how i feel. i would also suppose that if you ask the guys who have been around the industry for years and years and have made a boatload, they will tell you that "money can't buy happiness" (i realize that some w/o a thought process do think it can buy happiness and sometimes i wish i could be as naive as them)

all in all i want to be a normal member of society again....fingers crossed that it will make me a better person mentally and physically.

-thanks again for being considerate and thoughtful of my post....

Thanks,

Just some random guy.
Just wondering, why are you leaving?

the guy has 16 posts in 6 years.
probably wont be back to read this.

did he even make a mark/difference IN the industry?
he should have left years ago..
Not everybody verbalizes everything they do like a slick car salesman.
Some more honest people let their actions speak for themselves.
wtf is wrong with you???

yeah, i have... and it's worked to an extent, but the main problem with that/them is they can only take up so much time in a given day. an evening class is only 2 hours, then back home and sitting in front of my comp after.

when it boils down to it....i'm naturally a people person. i get my energy from people. working from home gives me no kind of feedback. for example, i have to give myself a "job well done," instead of actually hearing it from another human which brings/gives you confidence.

i just spend too much time and home and have never been able to get my daily structure down. some people can get up, shave, take a shower, put on an outfit, and work all day, but i'm just not one of those people. i personally need structure.

my view had always been, "suck it up, it's good money and anybody else would kill to be in this situation" well... after so many years of "sucking it up" i'm ready to hang up my boots.

Yo I went and worked in the real world for two years while I finished my degree. I thought the same way; I needed a routine, a structure - some way to root myself into the real world to get that one goal accomplished.

As someone else mentioned I could not relate at all to anyone I worked with. They were all young in mind and there was a quiet distinction between who we were as people. How we thought, how we acted... - from how we approached work itself to how we looked at life.

There is a genuine difference between entrepreneurs and regular people out there in society. I know I couldn't cross that bridge.

Good luck.

There are plenty of pro. office buildings with interesting people. Dont think that if you got an office, you would "just sit there, alone".. Thats defeatist. Go hang out with the people from the nearby offices. Order in a big sandwich and invite people in. Shit like that.

Or if you must, then get an application from your corner store or grocery store. Somewhere you go anyway where they've known you forever. Work part time, get a taste of it.

I used to LOVE the people aspect of my old career, but the higher ups started to get too much pressue and apply it down the line to where helping the customer was only a quaint notion. Thats when it wasn't fun any more. Was just surreal.

Just expect the cycle to repeat, thats all.

Yeah your isolated.
Get a part time job something that is sociable where you are making money. or teach others it can be very very rewarding.
Start a healthy lifestyle.
Get some goals and start pursuing other interests and hobbies.
Success can be a tough one and an isolating one for sure

Your not gonna do this over night it took you 8 years to get to where you are and really just lost yourself. Dont think running around with a bunch of chicken heads in a corporate environment is gonna fix your isloation problem.
Find the root of the problem and fix that not the symptom.
