could be a crab spider, especially since you found it on the ceiling - not dangerous

I'm assuming its the house spider based on its color.

Just use some card and a cup or something flat and a container and then remove it outside.

I also would not be spraying any bug spray if your that worried about the baby. Look around and see if you can see an egg sack. Typically looks like a small piece of cotton caught in the web. Or better yet after you remove the spider just get a paper towel that is semi damp and just remove all of the webbing. Throw that away outside.

We get those in webs that go from the tree branches up to the house here. Walking around the yard at night is NOT recommended lol. Although they are pretty harmless. I leave spiders where they are for the most part. I'd rather have them eating mosquitos personally.

Be glad it's not one of these. I snapped this pic after I killed it and posed him all nice and purty for the camera.

It is a brown recluse. We got them everywhere down here where I live in NC. Got these fuckers too. Cowkiller ants (which actually aren't ants at all, they are a breed of wingless wasps) Sting on these things is incredible so I've been told. They can kill elderly and kids lawl. Things don't die either. You can SOAK them with raid and they keep on truckin'.

This fucker scared the shit out of me a week ago as I was cleaning a bathroom downstairs. Went to move the shower curtain and seen it move inside the tub. Took quite a bit of raid to kill it. Usually we get wolf spiders in our window wells as they are 3.5 ft deep and they can't get back out, but never have seen something like this inside the house.

The picture was taken from the other side of the tub as it was at one end. Not zoomed in etc.
