..and giving up drugs to drown yourself in the arms of alcoholism isn't okay either. I can't stand seeing a drug addict get "clean" only to get completely trashed drunk every chance they get. THAT isn't cleaning your life up.

Give up alcohol for a year and you'll really see the light. Most people just accept it because its legal.

Alcohol abuse is worse than any drug, and any of you in here pointing the finger at an addict and you drink booze might want to look in the mirror first. An addict is an addict, so be us all.

i talked to my interventionist about this and he says terrible idea.

The guy is out of town surrounded by his industry peers looking to get business done ..... do it some other time and place if at all.

Anyone with a drug problem needs to have those who care for them (or in this case a group of strangers) - to humiliate and draw to their attention that Nancy Reagan was right - Just Say No !!

My father if he caught me smoking would stack up on the kitchen table carton's of cigarettes and force me to smoke them to stop me. So if it takes bending a shitload of spoons and using dirty rock salt melting near the 5 last spoons to make them sick and not ever want to do drugs again, then I'm all for it.

I think some recent business practices only show how far this person will go to fund their addiction.

I just got off the phone with Scott. He asked me if I'd like to participate in the intervention, now knowing who this person is, I have to agree that it needs to be done. Most of this persons closest friends, will be in Phoenix..and good and bad, this person needs to know that they are loved and surrounded by people that care. They need to stop with the drugs as its taken over their lives and is about to lose everything....almost has really.

This is a great thing you are doing for a friend.

I have a pretty good idea who you are talking about, and you could not honestly call yourself their friend if you did not go through with this.
Sometimes you just have to do things for others, even if you know it might not have a good outcome for yourself.

i just called the hotel to see why they would allow this to go on. i told them to have extra securities around and ask sleazy, (gave them his name), if he needs any help when he checks in. you can never be too safe. they said they were going to notify the sheriffs department and have some more undercovers in the hotel to make sure everything goes smoothly. i guess if you're gonna do this, do it right. i know this person needs help so why not, fuck it, you got my blessing now.

Knowing who this is it pains me to think about how far they have fallen from grace. Some of you may not agree with this, but this is probably the best chance this person has to be surrounded by so many people who care about them and that they respect enough to actually listen to.

It is a tough call and initially I thought this was a bad idea till I was able to reach Scott and find out who it was and how bad the problem has truely become.

When all is said and done I have a feeling that many of you who have disagreed will change your minds and understand a little better what we are trying to accomplish here.

I'm glad somebody is finally doing something about this person's drug problem. However I'm afraid they might have already figured it out since I know for a fact that the person visits GFY on a regular basis. I hope he/she still shows up for the Phoenix Forum.
