![]() Apparently, a few users of Comcast have noticed the company is interfering in their attempts to use file sharing software by making the connections appear to be dropped ... but to think customers suing for (obviously) illegally sharing files?
Interesting to see where this goes... Full story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071115/...discrimination |

It moves the bandwidth burden away from webhosts and onto ISP's. In my opinion, Comcast is just trying to stifle this technology for that reason. |

obviously??
I use it to get some of my fav web-isodes of stuff, linux distro's and many other things that are perfectly legal. I'd be pissed if my ISP blocked torrents or any other form of download. People can download illegal software using FTP... should that be blocked as well? |

I also get my latest Centos OS from torrent seeds ... legally. As for ISP, here I had unlimited up/down with Videotron. Now they capped at 100 gigs/month. I am looking to change ISP, ot at least pay less since I get less .

It would be hard to filter only some of the p2p software, also I download my movies with the same application I download linux so that would obviously affect legit traffic as well, which is a no no. When an ISP starts to regulate traffic they're getting themselves into some hot waters because you either regulate everything or not at all. |
