Back in the day pre 2000 people did pay when there wasn?t as much free hardcore out there etc. but they still canceled because the reality of this biz its a impulse buy. they wack off then they get upset they had to pay for it. guilty feelings I guess.
Members areas had more Porn then you new what to do with. But the paysite owners back then realized no mater what you have people will still cancel.

I don?t know anyone who likes to pay for porn no matter how good you think yours is. Even when I purchase a movie in a hotel I feel like shit once I?ve taken care of business and ask myself why I just paid for it.

When/if i open my own sites i'd rather build up a solid recurring base of customers rather than try and get what i could in one month. If your system is based on that your members area must suck. People are recurring less than ever..why? Because they can get much more porn for free than paying 40 err sorry 100 bucks a month for it. Would people be going to such methods to avoid paying for porn if they didn't get fucked on subscriptions over and over again? Who knows, its possible.

I wouldn't call it a scam, but the FTC may. Universal Media Group (owber of High Society, and I think swank and other magazines) got a $10,000,000 fine for this same type of billing option. I met with them on a deal a couple years ago and they refuse to deal with websites because they were so gun-shy.

I have to agree with you. Although the execution changes, the dollar amount put into the industry stays the same. people will always buy porn. When rebills slow down, you have to switch your plan of attack and do something different like pre-checked cross sells etc. There are always people who like to say the sky is falling. Maybe it's not as brainless as it was to make a living in this biz, but it is still there if you use your head.

All i am saying is these people have those views because it benefits them. The end. And me parking domains ( which i don't often do) doesn't end up costing someone 100 bucks when they think they are signing up to something that is free or at most, 40 bucks. I have no problem with cross sales, hell i don't care if programs use pre checked crosssales, the only point i was trying to make was the only reason these people agree with such methods is because it benefits them.

There is no denying that pre checked cross sales rely on those who forget or don't see them. No one (or a very very small percentage) is going to join 3 sites at once, 2 of which they have never seen.
