What are the most common ways to pay a model for a solo site. Which ones are most profitable and work best for all parties involved?

Pay upfront for content and give a % to rebills?
Pay money upfront for content and give them nothing in rebills.

Please explain what you think is best and why?

from what i hear, shoot as much as possible first

interaction would be a huge plus for keeping members and growth, but from what i've read around here it looks like a lot of models are flakes (want too much too fast, impatient, lose interest, etc)

so get what you can first and maybe offer a small % for interaction & new sets once the site starts doing some volume.... that way you have something to offer her instead of x% of 0

If you find a really cute girl but she doesn't seem like the type who enjoys hard work, then you pay to shoot her for about 2 - 3 years of content and be done with her. Price the site a little higher because the retention will be a little lower, put some upsells in the members area.

If you find one that is really cute and understands what it takes to run a site, you draw up a contract (important), shoot her enough to get the site up and running with enough back up content for updates. Pay her something upfront for the initial photos etc (which you own and will always own, see contract), then pay her a percentage of the site, plus bonuses here and there to keep her happy & active with the site (shooting, candids, appearances, diaries, chats, auctions, autographs, etc.).

I'm assuming the girl your solo girl is around between the ages of 18-22. They don't understand anything about hard work or what it takes to run a site.

Best to do is shoot a shitload of content upfront, atleast over a years worth. And dont trust her is she says she dedicated and will shoot forever. Most models (especially the 18yr old ones) are unstable, change their minds, and have no clue what theyre doing. If you are really nice and she is interactive on the site (webcam, journal, etc) you can pay her a percentage as well. But Ive seen with this is they get automatic money and stop doing their work and think they willl stil get paid. So it may be best to pay her by shoots etc and then a small % (if you want to go that route) and make it clear that it will go away if she stops being interactive. And thats where you backup content comes handy.

Just shoot enough content up front to launch and sustain a year's worth of updates. Then bring her back to shoot even more and do live shows or whatever else you need to make the site successful and pay her outright. I would never pay any model a percentage of my business. It's way to complicated to figure out, especially if you do other things with the footage. Would you want to start having your records audited and explaining your business decisions to a model?

I think the message is clear about getting as much content with a girl done right away. What seems like a reasonably good way to go is to offer her flat rate per set (or per day of shoot) first and tell her that if she keeps regular journal updates say every second day and regular webcam show once a week for 2 months without screwing you over, she will be eligible for percentage from total net profits.

In other words, give her a chance to prove herself and if she does, she'll get a cut from net profits. Chances are decent, that if she is serious about taking this route, she will do anything she can to make sure her site is alive. If in 2 months time you see flakiness, inconsistency, broken promises and difficulties to deal with the slut, that will be a clear sign to not go any further from there. You just have to make sure you have enough content in your hands to keep the site going for a good year or two at least - to justify the cost involved in setting up the site and getting it going :D

You can keep a model involved with the goal of making the site successful without giving a percentage, which is a very open-ended, potentially large, and possibly problematic reward.

Just give the model some more flat fee paydays to show up again, do more shoots or live shows or whatever. Why take on a stranger as a business partner?

Tying up solo girls to sites is very messy and would not want any model as a biz "partner". Tried almost all options on this and rarely do they work. (Sure, it can depend on the girl, but the chances of getting talent to actually work and be consistant is remote - plus, personal backgrounds change etc.)

The only deal now would be... Contract is based on shooting her to death over a period of time (like two days/week for a X months) and pay whatever the rate is. Then a deal to turn up X times/month for either addtional shoots or live and get paid the standard rate. Once that contract is broken - and it will be, you should have enough content garbage to rollover the site for a few years without them - and you can use the content wherever after that.

From a model angle - you are providing work and paying them for the initial shoots - then a roll-on after that which gives them X days of work each month. If they are still with you after a year - maybe another deal could apply.

there is no one way that works best for all parties involved - i know a lot of girls who don't even make $500 a month when they are paid by %. remember midwestmandy on here a few years ago - girl wasn't even making $250 a month - she quit of course - so paying by % often leads to pissed off models. I think they best way is to pay them upfront for the modeling then as long as they keep active and do the camshow and forum thing pay them either a salary or a % of profits.

i have a girl i'm talking to now - somebody has filled her head with information about this business and she told me she will only do a solo paysite for 50% of the GROSS revenues - hahahaha - i told her whoever she's talking to doesn't know what he's talking about. I will pay this girl by % if that's what she wants. If a site nets 10K a month i have no problem with her getting 3-3.5K of it as long as she is doing her part.

I'm thinking of most of the top solo girl sites - seems like most of them are being paid by %.

Exactly the problem

There is little point to a model wasting X days in shoots for websites and and getting eg $250-$500 in return. The net is the cheap gutter end of the market for fees and any good model can earn that in a day elsewhere.
