I am being non-judgemental here. I want to hear YOUR opinions, and I want to see your votes.

The concept: Since 2006, it has been shown that AFF (a) Uses toolbar products to drive customers to their sites, in a manner that could cost affilates sales, (b) sponsor torrent sites that provide access to content stolen from other adult programs, and (c) sponsor torrent sites that have CP and other illegal material on them, and other issues.

Clear proof has been provided at each step which should these things to be apparently true.

Has AFF's goals and business methods become a negative for online porn? Does their presence as part of the "porn" business raise a major conflict of interest? Is AFF sucking the adult industry dry, profiting from the illegal distribution of copyrighted material? As such, should they leave GFY and other adult boards and move off somewhere else?

I hardly promote them at all, but I just love that everyone invokes the cp word about it. I reported the mentioned links to torrentspy and they were removed within hours. This to me says everyone saw the links, but decided to whine about aff having an affiliate that put their ads on their site. Instead of reporting the links like I did. So the big question is, do the guys that were brining up cp really care about it being there, or just want to use it as a tool in their aff hate arsenal?

Sticky, I do both - I report the content, and I ask the sponsors why they would want to be part of something that is so poorly managed and controlled that CP is easily distributed. Would you react differently if it was a CP TGP or a CP MGP?

Understand this very clearly: These torrent sites make their money by (a) stealing everyone elses content, either directly or through third parties, and (b) selling memberships to AFF with the traffic that results from this illegal or stolen material.

CP, site rips, pirate software, passwords, credit card databases... it's all there. Is there anything on a torrent site that AFF should be involved with?

Again torrent sites are a tool just like anything else it can be used for good or bad. The underlying problem is people not securing their own content, then they cry about aff instead of spending that time trying to find solutions to secure content while allowing users full access. Yet there are many vod sites that do not get their content ripped, and movie on demand in mainstream that also successfully keep their content. Adult used to innovate before mainstream did and they followed us, not its the opposite cuase everyone wants someone else to provide them a solution.

If you thing drm is protecting your content, you need a double slap in the face ... But while we are on the subject, even tough you do not operate a paysite, please explain how to " secure their own content " ....

Leave money on the table? Take off the rose colored glasses for a second. You are saying essentially that the movie business shouldn't get upset at AFF if they gave away pirated DVDs with every membership to AFF - or if gas stations stole cars from dealerships and gave them away free every time you needed gas.

How about AFF can go to New York, and go to the guys that sell the pirated movies on the street, and ask them to add in some AFF ads on every movie... maybe a "free trial" coupon or something. Perhaps ask the crack dealers and escorts to give them out too, pay them a commission on every one.

Outlandish? Just somewhat extreme versions of what is going on. The mainstream movie industry wouldn't allow the pirate movie street vendors to be part of an industry group, why the heck should we tolerate AFF on the adult boards? They should spend their time on the torrent admin boards getting traffic, not here pissing people off and being arrogant pricks about it.

Stickyfingers, without much effort, you can find the material from almost every VOD site on the net online. Most surfers don't bother to rip VOD sites, through, as they have already ripped the same DVDs that the content came from, so why bother doing it twice (plus they get better encoding using a full DVD iso rather than a VOD file).

If you make a file, it can be stolen and redistributed and hacked if secured. Encouraging and paying a black market to exist and prosper certainly isn't helping things out, and AFF and AVN are leading the way in making sure that these torrent sites are not only present, but well rewarded for their crimes.

What the heck should paysites do (and don't say "DRM" because I won't be able to take you seriously after that)?

As for fox, well: Why rip the day after stream when people have already digitized and torrented the original right from boardcast the day before? It is already way too fucking late in the cycle at that point - and if fox is giving it away for free, who the fuck would BOTHER to rip the stream?

Adult rentals use Windows Media digital rights management, and it have been proven a few times that it can be ripped. Right now, the way most rips from streaming cpntent are done are by using a addon on your Mediaplayer that exports the played content to a MotionJpeg archive. Its flawed, but people will still use it. Its still better quality than some of the Telescreener and other screener people share today

So people that shoot their own custom content for their sites, and dont use dvd rips should just hand over their content ahead of time to newsgroups and torrent sites? Why do you keep coming back to its already ripped, or its already available? Go rip a movie off of adult rental and show us how you did it, go rip a show off the fox vod setup and show us how you did it. Content CAN and IS protected, its just not being used in adult enough yet. If a company comes out with a proprietary flash video delivery system that is done differently for each site enough that they would have to jump through hoops to rip each site they wouldnt bother.
