i don't work for godaddy but do use them and have a suggestion that might be right for some.
if you can get the number needed to transfer you can transfer to godaddy for 6.95 with 1 year extension. If you cannot get number to transfer then as a last resort you can go to godaddy and place a backorder on that domain and when it expires the godaddy system with register it for you... last I looked the fee was about seventeen bucks. Jace, not sure Icann or anyone else can do anything for you, short of lawsuit, at least until registerfly goes under. |

I found the EPP codes for 4 of 11 domains. The others were blank. But the transfer failed because they were LOCKED! Now that pisses me off.
Luckily non of the expire within the first months, so I hope registerfly can get their shit straight soon.

Then let them expire. For the others that are worth keeping I would suggest hitting up Chris at Moniker and letting him know the epp codes for the domains you want transferred over to them. You can find them under Manage Domains > Domain Contact Information - near the bottom. If not there, put in a ticket and pray for the best. Good Luck.

So that statement was from a few days ago. What a battle that is going on. So now this other dude Kevin 'Snake' Medina has control again. Good luck to everyone that has domains there.

why the fuck isn't some registrar jumping in and saying "hey, transfer here for free", why does everyone have to charge for the transfer
can you imagine all the new business a registrar would have if they allow all registerfly.com customers to transfer into their system for free? thousands upon thousands of new domains they didn't have before |

Lol, if only it were that easy. I've been transferring out dozens of my domains over the last six months. I've still got around 75 at Registerfly, many won't transfer because there are no EPP codes or I can't update my whois on a particular domain, in either case the transfer fails. The problem seems to be all of these different third party registrars they used prior to 2006 for their registrations. Those companies must supply the correct EPP codes to Registerfly in your domain whois and some just don't do it.

Click on a particular domain within the domain management and then click "domain contact information" - configure If it has protectfly enabled, click the small link in the text below it to disable protectfly on that domain. Go back into domain contact information and click configure again. Below your whois info at the very bottom should be a code, its usually jumbled letters and numbers. If all it says there is AUTH CODE with nothing else, then you have a problem and your EPP codes arent supplied. If the code is there, make sure your domain is unlocked, protectfly is disabled and your whois email is correct. Supply that EPP code to your new registrar and the transfer should proceed without a hitch.

Wow. That is beyond fucked up. Makes me very glad that I didn't register my domains with RegisterFly.

I only have one domain with them but its a very valuable name. I've had an unanswered support ticket with them for over a month now. The who is info on the name was changed and its locked so I cant change it back. Not only that but the epp code was deleted. So Im up shit creek, theres no way for me to transfer the name.
Anyone have an idea as to what I can do about it? |

It's unclear what, if anything, will be done for the people who owned domains that have already been deleted and registered by others, or for names that were apparently fraudulently transferred from their rightful owners to Registerfly. ICANN dragged its feet forever in doing anything about this, but are apparently finally taking some steps to preserve stability of the registry. Who knows how it will all pan out.
