<<<<<<Registerfly is COOKED. GET THE FOK OUT>>>>>>>>

They gave the company back to Kevin Medina, registerfly.net is a phishing site! Yikes!

Get your names out!

"I apologize for having to be the bearer of bad news but I'd just received word back from the court hearing today in Newark New Jersey and the Judge gave the company back to Kevin Medina. Yes, you heard that correctly.
I appologize for having to be the bearer of bad news but I'd just received word back from the court hearing today in Newark New Jersey and the Judge gave the company back to Kevin Medina. Yes, you heard that correctly... Kevin Medina will soon be in full control of your names once again.

BAD NEWS
The bad news in all this is that a judge who understands nothing about the internet or domain property, today issued a decision to leave Kevin as CEO of Registerfly. What does this mean? Well, means you'd better get out of registerfly and get out fast.

Rumor has it that Kevin Medina does business and accepts credit cards through Humboldt credit card services and has a charge-back rate of over 55% so they are in the process of shutting Kevin's credit card services and we're waiting to hear what the ICANN response will be. The news is out... Registerfly.com is officially done! Registerfly.net is a phishing site."

Voodoo 03-08-2007 04:16 PM

Yikes! Good thing I don't use them.

Jace 03-08-2007 04:17 PM

DeanDick 03-08-2007 04:17 PM

I would also cancel any credit card you have on file with them. Tell your cc company you lost your card and get a replacement number. :thumbsup

if this Kevin character is as shady as has been implied above i doubt that deleting creditcard data now would make a difference... if the guy is a hood i would assume all of this data might be backed up elsewhere for safekeeping at this stage. conversely, deleting creditcard information might cause problems w/ any domains expiring in the near future on auto-renew... sucks all around..

You may be right, but what domains are you going to be keeping there on auto-renew anyway???? :1orglaugh :error

I don't think registerfly will be honoring any upcoming renewals

true enough friend... i would think running to the phone to cancel creditcards might be more effective than deleting it from their admin though, i just hope noone really loses domains over this debacle..

WiredGuy 03-08-2007 05:05 PM

Can anyone figure out how to transfer domains out of RegisterFly? I've been trying to and I keep getting denied on the transfer. Support is well, good luck...
WG

Trax 03-08-2007 05:26 PM

This is the problem.

No EPP code, no transfer. It's as simple as that.

People have been trying to get their names out but with no EPP codes to do it the domains are essentially being kept hostage.

I have over 100 domains with registerfly that I can't transfer.

cones 03-08-2007 05:34 PM

holy shit I have 300 domains there

this is a fucking nightmare

WiredGuy 03-08-2007 05:40 PM

I've been getting more support from NameCheap trying to figure out how to get EPP codes issued than from RegisterFly ever has. Sooooo... does anyone have any idea where to get EPP codes issued from RegisterFly?
WG

Viper2K1 03-08-2007 05:50 PM

I was able to transfer my domains out of there right after enom's mail.

I found the EPP codes on the registerfly site, they were at the bottom of the page when you want to edit the contact info for a domain ... it didn't say EPP code: xxxxxxxxx but it's that string of code at the bottom :)

Mickey_ 03-08-2007 05:52 PM

Ouch. Good luck on the transfer outs...

vvq 03-08-2007 05:53 PM

i've been trying to get a few domains out as well. no luck. :(

humboldt bank doesn't play that game. 55%. not likely. he'll be done there soon. not sure why they would need to wait for anyone to term him. they are a very reputable bank.

he won't be processing shit much longer.

you should take legal steps. that goes against every business practice. they have to let you transfer the domains.

I only had 11 domains with them and getting the EPP codes was a bitch. Two months and I'm still trying to get EPP codes for the last three. :(

Anyone know how other registrars can help with domain transfers away from Registerfly; something special that go beyond my efforts?

Simple. They'll expire, go into a redemption period, and then be deleted from the registry. At which point, they will be available for anyone to register.

LiveDose 03-08-2007 06:25 PM

They need to put into service a court system just for the internet cause these government fuck wads and talking heads have absolutely no grasp of the internet... Ooops I mean interwebs.

porno jew 03-08-2007 06:28 PM

good to see the ceo back in control. maybe the company will get back to normal.

wow, thanks for that response

what if we have 200-300 domains with them that don't have any traffic and worth the $2000-3000 to transfer them away? can you provide a solution or are you just here to play chicken little?

pornguy 03-08-2007 07:07 PM

ouch... would be a nice thing if other registrars stepped up and waved any fees to transfer FROM registerfly to them...

Tempest 03-08-2007 07:25 PM

I don't know anything about registrars but someone on another board indicated that ICANN will ensure domains get moved to another registrar if one goes down. Anyone know the real deal with how ICANN handles these types of situations?

I've managed to move 96 of 100 domains i had with registerfly. 20 something enom transfered to them without cost. Rest i managed to see the EPP codes at the bottom of the whois so i could transfer them out myself.

Rest that i have left there has no EPP codes. Whois data is blank as in that i don't own the domains in the whois. I can't edit those at all, support don't exists and ICANN nor Verisign could do something about it.

I've now planned these 4 domains as a loss :(

bdld 03-08-2007 08:09 PM

i have over 30 there i cant move out yet since i registered them in january. i have 1 other one that's "stuck", registered in '04 doesnt expire til '12, cant edit whois, cant edit dns, cant get epp code, i've taken that one as a loss already. the others i'll be moving away mid-late march.

sorry, didn't mean to come off as an asshole, but all I have seen the past few months are chicken little types screaming about how the sky is falling, and no one is offering any viable solutions other than "transfer them away!"....

I just spent thousands of dollars registering domains, now I have spend the same money AGAIN to transfer them out? yeah, right....I would rather just let most of the expire

the few times I have tried to move just a couple domains that is the experience I have also

so, for those of us that can't transfer, and those of us who have hundreds of domains there, what is the solution? I hope what someone said earlier, about how icann will move them to a new registrar, is correct, that would make me sleep much easier
