Selling Content ???
Hi Peeps... A question... ?
I am shooting a lot of girls who initially I am thinking wont have solo model sites... the main reason to shoot them is new content for both WeGetNaughty.com and DurtyGirls.com So I am thinking of selling licences for the content to other webmasters, I am thinking of a maximum of 10 licences for a batch of content... obviously 2 of those licences will go to the above named sites... but that leaves 8 to sell... The content will come with full model release and 2257 id... The content licences will give the webmaster the rights to use the content on named sites... but not the right to resell the content... My question is how should I price this content, it will not be sold beyond the 10 licences, so guess that makes it Semi Exclusive... so what would be a good price for content and would you work it out... by the number of pics/videos ? Discuss ?

well thats a hard game to play as no one knows you. i'd recommend brokering your content thru Dave perhaps at web-lebal arsenal computers and other providers like this just to see if people like/will pay for your content. of course the photo rights are still yours.

You should do well with this, but the pricing depends on numerous factors:
- did you shoot video, what's the quality, and how long are the scenes - is the video edited and encoded in various formats if you only have pics, good luck, very, very tough sell for any kind of $$$ If you do have both high quality pics and video, I can help you sell them, hit me up on icq

price the stuff to cover production and make yer profit from the members area. would be the easiet/simplest way to go. say cost $800 to shoot so price the sets so that 8 licenses cover the cost at $100 per . .

a $100 regardless of the amount of pics, sorry dude but that doesnt work...
This shoot produced 13 sets of 1800 pictures... there isnt no video with this girl, but normally there would be video too... The girl I shot with reselling licences of the content in mind, this was her first shoot, so sure I will build up to that for the next shoot... So back to this first content shoot... as I said 13 sets of images, with 1800 pics in it, I heard if selling exclusive people charge in general $2-$4 a pic (I know some are even dearer) so if I was to sell exclusively even at the bottom end it would be worth $3600 (and yes I understand thats if I find a buyer for them) But I do understand the price for semi exlusive is less, remember I aint suggesting selling this in a content store where it can be sold 100 times... this is to be sold with just 10 licences available...

OK here is some time for the hard truth.
How good are you with a camera? What was the camera, lighting and lens? How good are you with a model? How good are you at porn? How good is the porn you shot, no one wanks of to the number of images. You shot 13 sets of a girl, over how many days? If it was one I am pretty sure you have nothing to sell. Sorry but don't tell me what you can do. Been there done it and got the T-Shirt. a girl and shooter dry up after 5 sets. no matter who or what you're shooting. Individual pictures might be good, but the "Sets" after 6 will be poor to crap. Exclusive sells for $150 to $300 a set. IF brokers take it AND we can sell it, long term you will make more money. Can you wait? Just because you have a camera and a naked girl does not mean you have porn. I have a typewriter and an idea. Does not mean I can write a book. |

Hmmm Paul I wont try and second guess you I know you have made a business out of shooting and selling content... so thanks for your input...
However I do see potential for my content to sell... to be honest a lot of the same old Eastern European content I have seen shot, in the same 1970's looking back drops doesnt do it for me... I aint shooting PORN... I shoot teasy softcore content, up to playboy nude. I shoot a lot of girl girl tease content... and I think it would make great content for filler or girlfriend content... trust me my 13th set was as good as my 1st set... infact proberly better as the girl was warmed up by then  I think offering 13 sets with 1800 pics in for about $250, and limiting it to just 10 licences is far better than selling it 1000 times... yes there will still be exposure of this content, it isnt exclusive... but it will be semi exclusive, as I wont sell or allow the re sale of the initial 10 licences... And as for my work, again dont make out to be a supert dooper pro tog... makes me laugh when the established guys get twitchy cause some one is going to offer a service... I shoot with a Canon 10D, I use Elinchrome 600S lighting, I shoot at my own 4 floor townhouse studio in Milton Keynes as well as locations around the UK... but as I said no proffessional... Your content is not bad, but leaves a few things that are the diffence between converting a surfer to spend $30 and making him hit the back button.
I don't like the lighting but for amateur it's fine. But the images are not amateur. Very pretty girl, but where is the emotion. She is just fixing me with a stare. The finger is the emotion of the shot, the girl is pretty. But she is saying little. Nice shot and perfectly caught the pose, but again the girl is looking at me, where is the tease? Same problem, little actual TEASE. You might want to check with Hustler that you can use their T Shirts. Probably fine, but best to be safe if you'se selling the content. Bottom girl is great you have caught the tease. top girl is thinking about what? Shooting couples is a nightmare to get them both looking at the camera at the same time with a good look. Best to only have the good one looking at the camera. Not bad at all. Got the sultry tease. Check with Playboy about the hat. Totally missed this one. Tip, do not get anyone but GREAT models to look out of the side of their faces. Good ones. What is she saying to me? |

What always amazes me is how easy people think shooting porn is. Shooting naked girls is easy, shooting porn is hard. What's the difference. Struggling along with every other clown and making a good living.
People ramble on and on about the importance of text. Then use images that will instantly turn a viewer off. ESTABLISHED FACT. The first impression counts over everything else. So if you have images that don't deliver then telling a surfer the girl is the hottest, most fuckable, sexiest and demanding your cock NOW. He surfer thinks you're lying. He saw the pictures and thinks what the fuck are you smoking. Then he thinks, "Yes I've heard that 100 times today". Why do people put more importance and stress the need to get a gallery right and ignore the fundamentals of porn. Which are. It has to have a fantasy behind it that gets a guys dick hard. These are nice amateur pictures that any guy with some pretty girls could shoot. but not porn. If you think the 13th set was as hot as the first I shudder to think how bad was the first. A girl should be warmed up by the second set and tired by the fifth. That's her job, that's my job, that's what creating porn is about. You are looking to get some emotions, message and imagination stimulant from the models, the softer the content the stronger the tease message. If you are working properly you will tire after about 5 sets, the model will tire, the whole thing goes down the tubes. You can do the whole thing on auto pilot, but then you end up with none of the sets being right. Shooting porn is 20 times harder than making a gallery, shooting a picture of a naked girl is 20 times easier than making a gallery, just costs more. That is why good porn content is king, simply because it's tougher to do. OK now you can tell me how scared I am that you will come and take away all my business. |
