I need to know your personal experiences with the outsource companys floating around.

On a side note, yes I am shopping for an outsource company to do some bs work I need done montly, BUT and this is big.. You might want to read this.

yeh i had an experience with one about a week ago. a website designer, it took him a wholes days pay to come up with a website for me, i said ill have it, but he hadnt even done the html, i wasnt happy one bit. he said 3 more days at $50 it may be ready. they are called ProAdultoutsourcing!

But i mean they were nice enough, but im not going to fall in a bloody trap.

most of those posting here (those companies) are bullshit, amateur and unprofesssional... particularly those who offer some webmaster or whatever for a monthly rate. UNLESS you are just looking for simple design work, they should be avoided in my opinion.

typically, when you start talking to them you will see right away that they are much less concerned with your needs, whether or not they can fulfill those needs or if they can really help you... than they are with trying to sell you right away on something you might not need, before they even really have a serious conversation about it.

its annoying... some of these guys have zero business experience or business sense... they are just cowboys who like the whores in the philippines, want to live there and realized as an after thought that programmers were cheaper there and that they might be able to turn it into a business.

BTW... i'm a dick anyway, so take it all with a grain of salt. ... but the simple test is always just to ask questions and see how concerned THEY ARE with understanding your needs and how hard they are trying to. Even then, you are still basically hiring a person that you know nothing about... and being expected to pay for it without the benefit of a resume', referrences and an interview - which is crazy... even if its cheaper. wasted time and money is still wasted time and money.

Just find a local college student who will work for cheap and you can hunt down in person if necessary.

I've never worked with an outsource company, but my experiences from working with consultants / outside hired help wasn't that great. Mainly because they charged too much and it took way too long to explain what needed to be done.

their english sucked and they didnt work the same hours as me. this was outsourcing canada/us -> durkadurkastan etc. us -> canada used to be a decent compromise but not with the current exchange rate.

I had one from Durkadurkstan as well... Great for a month and then the shit started. I have bounced around through a few of them, may use one again to submit galleries... maybe not. Was about to pull the trigger on one and my friend started having problems with them so.....

I have a wide variety of positions including system administration, programming and web designs.

As with any employees, I have had some turnover, but have always been able to get new employees fairly quickly.

Im sure the service you would recive vs the service someone else would recive.... surely you get my point.

On a side note. I LOVE revshare hosting. The idea and concept was ahead of its time. Salute on that.

Question. What are you doing with your upload streams? If you have the amount of BW going out that I belive you do, what are you doing with the stuff that could be going in?

Virtual pc storage could make you a fortune if you do it correct.

I use ProAdult... Personally I think any outsourcing company tries to slow the schedule down a lot to keep you longer. So tell them it will be an ongoing relationship.

I've used xxxoutsourcing previously. I found them highly professional, Greg runs a tight ship and will always work with you and your worker. I think what a lot of ppl think is that u can just start from fresh and expect your worker to be running 100% from the get go. This is not the case and you do have to work with your worker for some time to get what u need from them, and basically train them to do things the way u like to do them but I am sure this is the case with all outsourcing corps. Anyway, thats my experience, very good customer relations from xxx and I was lucky to have a hard working worker at the time, so that helps I'm sure.

before when I only had a few sites, all was fine, but now that I am closer to 100 sites, it has become alot of daily work & I am considering outsourcing some of that grunt work..

from reading his posts, and his replies, you can tell alot about his personal character. His character traits from what I have seen on this board are that of an honest person, one that has high ethical standards, an excellent sense for business & loyalty to his clients.

No, i have never hired them or used them, (yet), but bet your ass that when I am ready, 100% sure they will be the ones to earn my business....

I hired one place through elance to do a simple windows software inteface, I gave them a software that I wanted it too look like, was the worst experience of my life, not only did they not understand the original concept after 2 weeks of trying to deal with them to understand the simple thing I wanted, they got even worse, the language barrier was ridiculous....the manager could not even spell the word money.

dealing with DSL outsourced support, I got even further aggravated, these fucking morons reading from a book telling me my browser is corrupt when I can't connect to the net... what a joke...

Anyone who outsources gets what they deserve.. GET FUCKED OUTSOURCE TODAY.. if you think the few bucks will help your business grow, you're missing the 150,000 people who might be using your service but now think you suck and if you are not in a monopoly start filing for chapter 7

i had the xxxoutsourcing guys do me a Flash banner...i gave them fairly general instructions & told them i was going to sleep (2am) and needed it finished when i woke up in the morning (8am)...

i had an email at 5am that it was ready, and the quality of their designer/flash guy was top notch!

I hire and fire 1-2 outsourced employees every DAY, which is no BS and pretty much a standard biz day thing for me. If you need professionalism, you are much better off with a domestic coder, or you will turn into a nervwreck in 2 weeks. Like someone already said - their biz experience, level of english and ways of organizing things, is often beyond ridiculous. If you find one good employee for every 15 you hire - consider yourself lucky!

i had one with iwebmasters, the worker was great but i dont think he was treated very fairly, which caused him to go and get a job somewhere else so i gave up. if you get a worker use a remote desktop program to monitor him. the shift manager i had was pretty crappy, but the remote desktop helps u monitor, and also you can see work and tell them if theres any changes easily.

i've had a wonderful experience working with StaffOffShore.com .... i had a great designer with them for several months and unfortunately he bounced on them (and me) but they got me back up with a new one with equal skills within about 3-4 weeks... they've made adjustments in my rates for lost time so i never feel ripped off. i'll be picking up a couple more key workers from them soon. definitely people u wanna work with

I have known Greg the owner of staffoffshore/xxxoutsourcing for sometime now and I have been watching him work while he was living in Bangkok and I must say he must be one of the most proffesional guys in this industry. I paid him and his staff a visit in Manila 1 - 2 weeks ago and they run a tight ship. Fingerprint scanning at the entrance, good equipment and good working envirorment. I havent got any staff with Greg or any other outsourcing company at the moment just some freelancers but I am in the process of getting some staff from Greg now.

I've been using these guys for about 4 months now and I'm basically really happy, though its been a bit of a learning curve. As stated elswhere, don't expect anyone to working at 100% the day they start, and do factor in that you'll need to spend quality time briefing your worker - I have to admit, I've found that aspect hard. In my case the time shift works in my favour, I get up early and have a chat on ICQ with him before my regular business day starts.

As briefing is so important, we started out with the repetitive tasks he could crack on with every day if I wasn't about to add input and built up from there; The guy we hired to build and submit galleries is now writing some simple but very nicely coded PHP. I'm happy and hopefully he is too.

Don't expect miracles and choose the tasks for them carefully would be my advice, but theres no doubt, they're an asset.

BTW one of the hidden benefits was how Greg handled staff turnover - We're on our second guy but the new one was hired and brought up to speed so that hand over was utterly smooth, try doing that when your local college kid helper just ups and leaves!

I didnt use iwebmasters, I used another company and the guy seemed solid. After I got to know him, he filled me in on what they paid him for the stuff I had him doing. Pure nothing really. Guy went and got another job.
