This includes ANY and ALL tours included in the competition. Graphical and Flash alike. Both categories. However, no databasing whatsoever, and ZERO hotlinking!!!! With the one exception of linking urls from GFY itself for voting purposes.... any other form of hotlinking WILL be detected and you will be nuked from the server immediately, your tour deleted, and you will be eliminated from the competition. (and with Len's cooperation, banned forever from GFY!)

I would like to put up a page with the "Official Rules" for this... and I have no problem with that, but it seems like a conflict of interest for me to me deciding all this shit......

and I really wanna compete..... so we need some impartial people.....


but the final voting should be all of GFY I think..... (just my opinion)

What about an essay type vote?

Critique the tours with a breakdown of what's good, what's bad, what's clever, what's brutally amateur, etc....

best critique wins best tour.... 2nd best critique wins 2nd best tour..... etc...

that sounds workable to me, except then we'd hafta vote on the critiques too.... :(

I registered the name gfydesigncontest.com and I will make subdomains for each contestant. you'll each have your own html bin and we will put a poll script up for the voting and have it go by cookies so everybody can only vote once.

holy fuck... not that i can win it being OS.. but holy fuck all the same :)

what about this rule:
all the designs that are submited will be 100% anonymous. No GFY poster(voter) would know who designed what. they will all be numbered, and that would be the only way to identify them.

why you ask? well, we all know some people on GFY are more liked then others...GFY'ers have their favorites, and I think that will come into play in the voting. if 2 designs are somewhat close to each other, and the voter has to choose between one, he is more likely to pick the design that is submited by someone he is more familiar with or friends with. This way, we make it more impartial.

the more impartiality, the more fair the contest will be.

well, I dont think itll be very hard to do amp
the simplest way is to have a screenshot of all the paysites on one page...all of them numbered....the voter goes to this one page, clicks on all the screenshots, views them all, then goes to the voting option(where that is located) and makes his/her vote. the voting option wont have the contestants listed with names, just numbers.

only people who have to know who is who is the contest official(s) and the person who is submiting their page.
