not bad considering the 2006 C4s runs neck and neck with the 2005 911TT

If anyone wants or has the money to buy a super car then Porsche is by far the best. I had an 81 turbo in the UK which was amazing hardly a single problem in 6 years of owning it. My present 968 although out of production years ago is a great car for nipping in and out of traffic in San Diego and still looks as though its traveling fast when parked in my drive..

i'd stick with the CGT. the 911TT has always been and is always going to be a consumer sports car. the CGT is a true exotic and much more of a car.

I agree there,it's something to be considered.650hp rwd.The car can bite you hard if you screw up.
I like my current 993TT and the Gallardo because of the AWD.It makes a slightly better than average performance driver(me) better. From what I have learned from current CGT owners,a large degree of talent is required to really get the best out of that car.
Doesn't mean for a moment,I have made up my mind.A performance driving school is an option I will do if I do decide to get one.

i guess it's all about what you are looking for in a car. i see alot of 911 because they are easy cars to make deals on. the CGT is an awesome machine but it's not easy when you are around pot holes and speed bumps.

A Ferrari 360 a few years old is the same price as a 911TT. Plus it will stay around that price long after the tt is worth 50% of what it was retail.

That is sweet but a 60K Corvette is like a poor mans Ferrari with the new body it looks like a Super Car. Save the $ and the monthly tune up cost...............who am I kidding if I had $ to burn who wouldn't want a Ferrari

True,a 3 year old 360 is about the same cost as the new 911TT.But consider that the list new on the 360 was around 200k+ they've already lost 45% of their value.

All that being said, buying an exotic car is not about making sound financial decisions. It's about because you want it.

hehe, yep. pretty much the perfect turbo. did you check out the flash presentation on the Porsche website? they are saying 3.7 sec 100 km (man) and 3.4 sec to 100 (tiptronic), and Porsche is always very conservative with their numbers. i'm pretty damn excited.

Finally. Been waiting for the new TT's.

Though, if you are considering a used CGT, I'd also consider a new F430. Top Gear said it was one of the most amazing cars ever. Apparently a little better driver can get it around the test track only a second slower than the Ferrari test drivers.

It looks hot too.

you're right, it's the price of love.

I manage highline automobiles and i laugh every time someone says that they are investing in an automobile.

I've made investments in aircraft and automobile positions, but even those are very risky.

Just look at the Vesuvius Range Rover. #3 sold for $120k on ebay back in mid 2005 and there's 15 people in line right now at the local dealer to get one for $75k. If they take delivery of the car they are in it for $82.5. Meanwhile there's a guy on ebay that just sold one for $80k. He still lost money on it even if he did sell it for $5k over sticker.

The smartest guy in vehicle investment is Nellie Jackson. She makes money no matter what it is sold for.

For every buyer there is a seller and the true value of anything is what someone else is willing to pay for it.

I haven't driven a 430 yet.But before I bought the Lamborghini I did drive a 360.As good as it looked,it was not exciting.No punch at all.It was to gentile.

The looks of the 430 is very subjective.I much prefer the lambo in that department.

The main reason I am actually considering a CGT is because it was a one shot deal.Probably the finest car that Porsche will ever produce in my lifetime.A local friend has one,and is going to let me take it out and get a feel for it as soon as winter turns to spring.

I hear the F430 is totally different than the 360. I am just going off what I've read though. I'd check it out though if I were you. I don't know if you are anticipating a price drop in a used CGT or not, but I imagine a used CGT would still dwarf the price of a new Ferrari Challenege even.

Look at the Enoz/SLR/F40/F50. Those cars don't exactly depreciate. I can see the CGT holding it's value for a long time to come.

I don't know if you are an aftermarket guy, but the new RUF looks off the wall.

Look at the Enoz/SLR/F40/F50. Those cars don't exactly depreciate. I can see the CGT holding it's value for a long time to come.

I don't know if you are an aftermarket guy, but the new RUF looks off the wall.
i have check out an F430 (slightly used) here in Vancouver. 285K CAD they are asking. amazing car, but i'm leary of all the mech/upkeep issues with owning such a car. i'm just more of a Porsche guy i guess.

I almost thought it was a steal. Then I remember the US dollar has lost all its value :/

Yeah, but at those prices, it's expected that you can afford the upkeep. What's the upkeep on a highend porsche like though? Couldn't exactly be cheap.

Edit: Too bad that racing Elise isn't for sale on the top of that website. 400HP in an Elise... Scary

You're right about CGT prices. They have only come down a little bit in the last year. One of the two Madison owners just sold his.And it went for just a shadow under 400k.
I just got the Lambo a few months ago,so for the moment my car appetite is nicely satisfied.I won't get serious about anything new until fall of this year.

Only car deals I have going on in the very near future is a replacement for my M3(daily driver). It just turned 3,so it's time to say goodbye.

Well, the new Audi S4 is out. Could be a nice replacement.

Just out of curiosity. What kind of issurance do you put on an exotic? At my age I don't think I would even be able to insure one. Is it a collectors type of insurance?

I am going to tone down my daily this go-around.Right now,it's a toss-up between the A6quattro and a MB E500.

I have a fleet policy.Because I have quite a few vehicles.
I am with Sentry insurance and they insure all of them for about $800 ea.I carry $2000 deductible on them. Before them I had basically the same deal with Aquity Insurance.Sentry was able to beat their premium.
