Joe: welcome back from Mars. didn't know you were there for so long. Israel is in those territories because these territories were used as platforms to attack us in 47, 48, and 67. The Arab states declared war on Israel and lost some territories. The Israelis gave back territories it captured in return for peace (see the case with Egypt and Jordan). Israel WANTS to give back the west bank as well in exchange for PEACE. this is why there was a peace process for almost 5 years! During these years - during the peace process - Israel already gave back much of the territories (in the recent week being re-captured) - in exchange for peace. At the end of this process there was supposed to be a peace between the nations and the entire territories were to be returned. Israel's sole condition was that these territories will not be used any more to plan and carry attacks against it. In reality, Arafat stopped the peace process by not only not committing himself to this demand, but by sending suicide bombers to carry the message. This is why there is a war over there now, and this is what the Israelis are doing there.

As for the state not being there, mr. genius, in 1947 there was no other states there as well! Syria and Lebanon were French mandates, Israel and Egypt were British mandates. The UN has voted to divide the land of palestine between Jews and Arabs. The Jews accepted it (mandatory israel) and the Arabs didn't. They started a war against the newly borned Israel. And lost.

Almost all countries in the world (including the US) sit on land captured at war. Israel is the ONLY such country who wishes to give back the land it captured for peace. The problem is, nobody is offering peace.

Being the child of euro immigrants I have ancestors who were affected by the holocaust..... I will say perhaps this is not the best place for this "light a candle" post, but all of us AMERICAN's should remember that pretty much NONE of us are native to this country unless you're 100% native american indian. Sure, who gives a fuck about other countries and *their* problems....... but have you gone back a few generations in your family tree lately???

I myself have french, spanish, irish, dutch, italian, and lots more ethnicities in my blood. My grandmother was born in algeria, africa (ha ha I'm african american too), and fled to this country from france in 1959 post war after living in hell for years and witnessing the horrible things the nazi's did such as witnessing them cut open and rip a fetus out of her best friend.

I just think of how lucky I am to be American, and to live in this country. Being American is just that. Israel is in those territories because these territories were used as platforms to attack us in 47, 48, and 67. The Arab states declared war on Israel and lost some territories. Israel WANTS to give back the west bank as well in exchange for PEACE. this is why there was a peace process for almost 5 years! During these years - during the peace process - Israel already gave back much of the territories (in the recent week being re-captured) - in exchange for peace. At the end of this process there was supposed to be a peace between the nations and the entire territories were to be returned. Israel's sole condition was that these territories will not be used any more to plan and carry attacks against it. In reality, Arafat stopped the peace process by not only not committing himself to this demand, but by sending suicide bombers to carry the message. This is why there is a war over there now, and this is what the Israelis are doing there. As for the state not being there, mr. genius, in 1947 there was no other states there as well! Syria and Lebanon were French mandates, Israel and Egypt were British mandates. The UN has voted to divide the land of palestine between Jews and Arabs. The Jews accepted it (mandatory israel) and the Arabs didn't. They started a war against the newly borned Israel. And lost. Almost all countries in the world (including the US) sit on land captured at war. Israel is the ONLY such country who wishes to give back the land it captured for peace. And yes, we have aborigines here that were fucked over just as you have native Americans who were fucked over. And its true that that sucks. Sure, who gives a fuck about other countries and their problems....... but have you gone back a few generations in your family tree lately??? I myself have french, spanish, irish, dutch, italian, and lots more ethnicities in my blood. My grandmother was born in algeria, africa (ha ha I'm african american too), and fled to this country from france in 1959 post war after living in hell for years and witnessing the horrible things the nazi's did such as witnessing them cut open and rip a fetus out of her best friend. I just think of how lucky I am to be American, and to live in this country. Being American is just that. This is a free country and especially with all the shit you see on the news you should at least have a little respect for other countries and ethnicities, and just be glad your ancestors came to this country otherwise you could be living in the same fucked up shit you see on tv.
