Have you had to deal with a suicide?

I had another friend commit suicide. I'm sick about it and not sure how to deal with it, this is the 3rd person I have known to suicide. I don't get it at all. Have you ever had to deal with a suicide? I hope this is the last one I have to deal with.

Thats aweful. They chose not to live, its unfortunate but we all have that ultimate choice. Its not easy to deal with and I am no exception.

I wish you well.

I have had to deal with a few suicides during the duration of my lifetime as well. It is unfortunate that people take the "easy" way out. It is a selfish act usually brought on by severe depression. If it is hard to cope with I suggest you go to some couseling sessions to deal with your pain. Good luck in your edeavors

I did, a couple years back. A family friend has 3 kids. Justin (the eldest son/middle kid Age 13) was very hyper, active etc... his mom (single mom but dad stayed involved) didn't neglect any of the kids & actually spoiled them allot. Mom works, eldest child (daughter) was in one of the higher grades in HS so she hung out with friends after school etc... They came home late one night, Justin wasnt there, they figured he was out playing with friends etc... when mom went to the washroom she found justin had hunh himself. He & his girlfriend had got into a fight & he didn't know how to deal with it.
Very sad & no one would have ever expected it. The kid could get crazy sometimes but he was always a good kid for the most part (all kids get into a little trouble)
Ceremoney was great since the mom was activley involved with the school etc, the whole school went, (he had changed schools since he moved) & even almost the whole previous school came out, teachers etc...
He'll always be missed.

Dont understand why he would do that though

I am sorry to hear this TurboAngel I have dealt with suicide as well. One of my very dearest friends took their own life on July 6th. As you know, nothing can prepare you for that phone call. The feeling of complete helplessness and guilt quickly manifested. Naturally i also felt anger at my friend for taking the selfish way out.
I am still dealing with alot of these emotions, and for me it's a daily process. Very cliche, but getting these feelings out and off your chest is mega important.
If you want someone nuetral just to chat, hit me up on icq.
Wishing you some peace.

I have had to & my wife has had to. It leaves you feeling empty inside and terrible about the torment that person must have been going through to actually do it.

I had a friend who tried in high school but he was discovered before he died. He used a pool hose from his tailpipe to fill his car with exhaust. Someone came home early and found him before he died.

My mother took her own life.
My best friend for 20+ years now is in real bad shape, mentally due to drugs etc.

He showed up unannounced last week and I had to explain to hiim the hole my mother's death left in this family because he was thinking about doing the same thing.

I have dealt with 3 as well. Some family, some were good friends.
There is no rationalizing it. It's horrible to go through and guilt gets passed around emotionally. Only thing you can do is try to live life better, refuse to make the same awful mistake, and keep an eye out for the signs in others you love.

I must say I am lucky to have never had to deal with suicides yet but I know, eventually, somewhere, someone I know will and I think it will be my mother. I don't look forward to it.

I am very sorry to hear that TurboAngel.
The father of my two sons commited suicide 2 years ago.
I can't beleive he did that to our kids.

We will leave with it for the rest our lives. He was very sick and depressed and he tried everything to get out of this, but doctors kept on giving him medications that was making him worst.

It's not easy and it never will... Hang in there.
What's important is that you are alive and that you know more than ever that fighing for your survival will worth every moment that diserve to be lived

All losses are hard to deal with. Professional help is the best way to go, and just feeling that you need help to cope with it is the best sign to seek out somebody to help out. It'll do you a world of good, I'm sure. Your friend had to be going through a lot of pain to make a choice like that one, and one has to accept that for some people, it just gets too hard, sadly. It's not something "selfish", it's not something somebody does in an attempt to be "selfish". It's very easy to see the shore when you're on firm land, much different when you're the one drowning. Take care, okay?
