Be prepared to get turned down and to be well recieved and accept both. Smile (It's contagious) and say something cocky witty & funny and hand them a snappy business card.

Over the past year, I've found some of my models through onemodelplace, and i've also placed ads in local college papers.

Had success in both places, but the quality of model -- and eagerness to go far enough -- vary by model.

Q: Where should I be looking for new explicit nude models?

I don't need hardcore fucking-sucking -- just explicit nude, solo and toys.

That is, where would you concentrate your recruitment dollars in an under-served market like mine?

Should I just use a Philadelphia/New York agency and fork over the dough?

Or shoot new, young models who don't know any better?

Newspaper ads are good but take alot of time to weed through the applicants. Online chat boards are great cause alot of them let everyone post pictures. Strip clubs are good, but be carefull not to step on toes without asking permission. Give finders fees when someone refers you a model, word of mouth is your best advertising.

Some good info Peter. I too shoot original content, although I am nowhere near as prolific as you are.

As in any business, word of mouth is the best. Probably 50% of the models/performers that I have worked with came to me via referrals (I also offer a headhunter fee).

The most famous first-timer model that worked with me first was Annie Cruz. Annie e-mailed me after reading the "Models Wanted" section of my site.

Once you have booked a model, the single most important thing that I would emphasize is paperwork - make sure that you have a signed model release and that the first frame in your camera (still/video) is the model holding her ID proving her age.

He said he was going to talk about model recruitment. I happen to own dormangels so I've done a little bit of it....but it's always cool to share some lessons and tips/tricks.

So I wanted to get a feel for how he does his model recruitment... word of mouth, ads, online scouting, etc.... asked for his %'s ... i was going to do a follow up ... once he told us all how he tends to find his models. and the answers were ...

Scout 24-7 depending on what works best for you. There is no rule of thumb except that whenever you don't scout - you miss those girls as models 100% of the time.

It's nice when somebody offers up their time to respond to questions from a large group of people. and it's rather insane to try to answer them. But if you open yourself up... you should try to give decent answers. He said he was going to talk about model recruitment. I happen to own dormangels so I've done a little bit of it....but it's always cool to share some lessons and tips/tricks. So I wanted to get a feel for how he does his model recruitment... word of mouth, ads, online scouting, etc.... asked for his %'s ... i was going to do a follow up ... once he told us all how he tends to find his models. and the answers were ... % that you approach on the street. (100% of the ones interested) % that respond to ads (he doesn't really advertise) % that you solicit online/email (whenever i have time) % that email you from your sites (a bunch, no real numbers) those responses really didn't answer the questions asked... nor did they help anybody in figuring out what is a good use of time and a bad use of time for model recruiting... cept maybe you could infer that he doesn't like the results of print ads
