Ditto. Angry customers spread bad vibes faster than happy customers; why feed that downward spiral?

I had a member who rebilled for 2 months(after a trial), then he told me, he forgot to cancel and wants a refund for those 2 months. After few emails I gave it to him and told him, he is banned from my sites from now on and Im happy he is not my member anymore.
This was his reply:
"hey? who the hell are you? always talk to your customers this way? whose
your boss? you have no right to talk to people this way punk. i will sue
your rude ass"

LOL

If you were having speed issues, I would assume you'd refund his money. Just basing off of what you said. Then drop him a line when it's all fixed and I'm sure he'd sign up again, along with a friend.

In all seriousness we had a member send us an email that was down right rude to the nth degree calling us scaming fuckers since the video he saw was not available in the members area. Little did he know that if he would of checked the news area of the site we listed 4 videos that we were re-encoding due to them somehow getting corrupted and they would be back online in 1-3 days (we do not offer trials). I ignored his very rude remarks, sent a letter back of apology explaining the situation, told him I was refunding his membership and as a sign of good faith to show we were not scammers and that everything would be fixed shortly I also gave him an account with 30 days access.
This once irate new join used his free 30 day account, promptly resigned up after it expired and has rebilled seven times now.

Yeah I know what are the odds of that happening again? More than likely very rare though I would rather go out of my way whenever possible to prevent one person from spreading bad advertising regarding the site than get concerned with the small amount of money I will not see by doing a few no questions asked refunds.

If you know your having problems and from what I understand STILL are...

Then I think you shoulda refunded him...Obviously if its slow enough for you to know there is a issue then its your own fault your getting a email....

He'll simply charge back and fuck you harder...You deserve it

Let's see... an $x.00 membership or refund, or a couple of hundred in legal fees just because of a frivelous lawsuit. Let me... nah.. no thuoght needed.

I've never had a circumstance like that (i.e. threats of lawsuit) but I've had the membership chargebacks, and request refunds because they forgot. Although we pass on the nasty e-mails, we give them their 'pay off', and just ban them from the sites.

It's more than fair. Here's your money and payoff. Don't come back. No need for the lighter fluid to some nobody on the net. Who knows, or cares who they are. Just be done with it.

Jesus,

With some of the responses I've seen in this thread, I can see why the ENTIRE adult part of the web is perceived as scammers..

The way you treat your customers has far reaching reprocussions on the way the whole industry is looked at..

If they guy wants his money back because of YOUR service, it's easier to give him back hi $xx.xx and be done with it.. It's cheaper than a chargeback, AND it might make him remember that you're one of the "stand-up" companies who does the right thing, and come back later when you have your shit together..

ah... we had a minor server problem that was fixed fast... I ain't credit him for that simply because I don't feel like I have to and simply because I don't want to. He gave me the feeling he's a typical parasite who can't afford the site or who's gf found out about it... it's not like the site was not accessable for a week.

Last week I had a guy ask for a refund because he signed up by mistake... yeah sure
another guy downloaded half the members area and complained that his friends had "major problems accessing the site, getting weird multi login errors and shit"
guess what he wanted... a refund...

yeah sure

I should add to my previous comment that my support did indeed check the logs on his account and he has been very active to say the least. I don't refund him because I am in need for his 30 bucks, he read in the members area that there was work on the server done that day and thought he could get his money back easily. That's it. Don't be so whiny. "legal fees", please guys... get real.

I think most of us see the logs. Just as I have seen multiple IP's from some of the people who got what they wanted, then go post their shit in the newsgroups, boards, or something like that, then want their money back.

Regardless, you can run your business however you choose mate. I personally would just give it to him, then ban him and his credit card from all sites wiping my hands, er.. ass with him and be done.

If you don't want to give him his money back, that's your call, and more power to you..

My issue is the way you handled it, and basically telling him ( if not literally telling him ) to fuck off..

With emails like that, you do nothing but harm to the entire industry..

But hey, I've only been running sites for the last 10 years, so what do I know...

exactly... what do you know. You haven't seen the logs, don't know what I wrote him in detail and just assumed the worst which pretty much means you know nothing. I am not going to argue about what I do or don't do. This thread was meant for entertainment just like posting the mail from the guy who signed up by mistake.

But I can tell from the way you responded in this thread, and by the way you worded your 1st reponse, you have no idea what customer service is about..

true... but I am not in this biz to do customer support anyways

I only do "customer support" when my support guy has a, lets call it "funny" problem for me. I then take the time to answer those personally

When I asked the guy who signed up by mistake how he downloaded more than 4 gigs in the first 24 hours by mistake, I got no further reply from him. Strange eh?

Im sure your speed problems were a bit different or else you would have answered something else to that member...

what makes you think this is the case??
In the reply my guy said we had "temp technical problems" and were working on "the speed issue".
When I logged into the admin the day I noted a speed difference which is why I had the host look into it and have them fix it which they did. I did my own tracerts, pings and download tests, at all times I was able to surf and download, it just wasn't as fast as before. The numbers I wrote above weren't made up. I was downloading in the range of 50-60k myself.
