If Hillary runs, it will be Republicans in the White House until 2016 at least. Let's hope she runs.

she might run, but I'm not sure she could get the party nomination. If she did get the nomination I think she might actually have a shot at winning. But for that to happen several things need to happen.

1. GW Bush needs to really fuck up. I think he did a terrible job his first 4 years, lets see how the next 4 play out. If he has a low approval rating that will help hillary because people will be wanting a change. If he has a high approval rating it might hurt her. But history, in the area, is on her side. If you look back after 8 years of the same party in power, typically the people are ready for a change.

2. It will depend heavily on who the repubs put out there. If they get a strong candidate she will have trouble. If they have one of those years where 20 people run and the one that wins barely eeked it out, that will help her.

3. She would need to mobilize women. Historically speaking women will not vote for women. I don't know why that is, but it is. If she can change that trend and run a " women empowerment" type of campaign she could have a good shot.

But it's still 3 years away until all this happens. A lot of things could happen that would change any or all of this.

No way she will get the nomination.

The Dems are going to have to do everything in their power to win back conservatives, and lets face it.. no old man is going to vote for a woman president.

Bitch all you want about it not being fair, but lets come back to reality for a second ;)

I'm with Warchild. I think she will run, that is pretty much 100% certain given her sudden "shift" to the right and all the PR she is out seeking. I also think that the odds of liberal Senator from the NE getting nearly the vote that the last one did is 0%. The reason why Kerry got as many votes as he did was not because people liked him, it was because people hated W. Now, all of a sudden, people seem to be changing their tune with W, so HC has pretty much no chance of being elected. Even if W f's up in a major way, I still say she would never win the presidency. That's not because she's a woman, it's because she is terrible and not likeable, especially by people from the South.

Not in the last 50 years or so. Other than Bill Clinton, how many Democrats have been president in the last 25 years? Before Ronald Reagan, how far do you have to go back to find a Republican President?

If Demorats want a Democrat for President, they need to decide on a core platform and then find a candidate to best represent that. Preferably he'd have a southern drawl. They'll need to come a little closer to the center, too.

Rallying the party behind a candidate is not nearly as effective as having a candidate that represents the party. Republicans recently went through this with Reagan. Before Ron, Republicans were getting soundly trashed. They took a step back, decided on what their party values and face should be, then used Reagan as the face. With the exception of Clinton, it's been all Republicans since then.

here is a great list.
http://www.laughtergenealogy.com/bin...o/history.html
it shows all the presidents, in order of when they were elected and what party they were under. Now look at it. You can see the trend. It seems to rotate. Once one party has been in power for a while, it seems there time comes to an end and the people want a change. This is not true 100% of the time but it is true much of the time. In the last 100 years if count from Theodore Roosevelt in 1901 to Clinton the repubs have held the white house for 52 years and the dems for 48 years. Each party has thier time when they have a decent run, but the one thing that always holds true is the people want change. Right now the repubs are in a strong place. They had reagan and then bush. You could argue that bush won as much on reagans popularity and a dislike for dukakis as he did on his own agenda just the same as you could say Kerry got as many votes as he did in the last election not because people liked him, but because they didn't like bush.

As far a recent history, GW Bush is a great example of taking advantage of the peoples want for change. Clinton was a popular president when he left office. The economy was strong, for the most part the world was at peace ( as much as it ever can me ) and things were looking good. GW was a terrible candidate from a typical point of view. He was a guy that handed everything in his life. He failed at everything he ever did and was one of the worst govenors in the nation. And yet he still won and the election was very close. By all rights he should have gotten destroyed in the election, but the people wanted something new and were willing to give him a shot.

I'm not saying hilliary can win or will win. But I think, given the correct environment anything is possible

this is true. the repubs formed an across the party agenda and platform and then went with it and as a group put that platform forward. And it has worked. The dems need to do a similar thing for them to win the whitehouse back.

and as a direct answer to this question the answer is 1. In the last 25 years we have had 5 presidents 2 dems and 3 republicans. There was carter and clinton for a total about 10 years ( this going from 1980 to 2005, 25 years ) and there was Regan, Bush and GW for about 15 years.

as for how far back before reagan do you have to go to find a republican president? I guess techincally 4 years because then you have ford and nixon before him, both republicans.

Hillary wont run. She has skeletons in her closet that make screwing fat interns look like boyscot badge work.

Her 2006 election will force her to move to the far left alienating the people in the red states. She will get louder and more obnoxious. Rush and Hannity will have their tapes running.

She loves attention to much not to run in 2006.

To be honest, the republicans are hoping that she will run. Either way, it will be fun watching her try to turn herself into a conservative.

I cant wait to see her rolling around in the mud shooting at deer with a shotgun.

If the Republicans even think near nomination time that America is keen on the idea of first woman president it will seal Condi's nomination.
