You can make good $ at selling cars or shit like that ... but @ sears ? That's just a fucking looser

WicKed NinJas 09-07-2004 06:05 AM

no way I am reading this whole thread....ok yea I will, but I havent yet but what i wanna know is how in the hell do you know he isnt happy? Did he tell you "Hey man, I only make 20K a year and I am a loser and I hate my life." If not then maybe he is happy. Maybe he has a wife and kid that are very happy and well taken care of and thats all he needs. Im guessing you dont have a wife and kids cause of you did I think you would understand that at that point its all about providing for them and maybe that job affords him extra time for them as well. Point being, you have no clue who is happy and who isnt so before suggesting that he put a bullet to his head figure out what it is thats REALLY bothering you and fix that cause this sounds much deeper.

and yes, that is a nice ride you got there....LOLOLOL

If I was in his shoes, I would put a bullet in my head. What is life if you spend it doing nothing? Wasting so much time that you work at Sears, not even a fucking manager! Just a regular grunt.

He probobly makes 20-25k a year...but if it makes him happy, then who am I to say he has lived a wasted life? My opinion? I will never settle for ordinary, and I dont believe that anyone else should either.

Get an education, get a good job, get a life worth living!

This is a random rant because I'm buzzed...getting to be drunk though, quite soon :). just a few more drinks..

it's better that he is working and has been working for that long then not working at all and then living off of unemployment, welfare and complaining.

remember this always, as fast as you make your money you can always lose it faster. don't be judgmental because one day you may be (hopefully not) in that position and i am sure you will not like someone else judging you.

get off that pedistal you're on before someone knocks you off.

I always have respect for a working man, at least they don't go post pics of cars they don't own on the internet so everybody thinks they are rich.

God, the arrogance of youth. Reminds me of when I was mid-twenties and thought I was hot shit and knew exactly where I'd be in 20 years. I must admit I said a few things that make me cringe now.

don't worry, we all have (well, those of us who are smart enough to realize what we have said and not made the same mistake (s) again).

Geez, you sound just like rhino, read the thread and learn what he did. How is hawking biz cards over the net any less of a loser than selling tvs at sears?

Lucy 09-07-2004 09:50 AM

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you in this. Some people just didn't have the opportunity to get good education, in that time were happy they got this kind of jobs, were taking care of their families when they were already teenagers, was completely different time. For example in my country the university are free but still you need to pay travel fees, books, acommodation and not so many just had money for that. And especially in USA where you have to pay for your university.

But of course some people are happy with those jobs, because they don't feel like to get a good career, they are happy what they have, that's their life and their business!

Well I used to work as a sales rep for Sears in their electronics department. It was a lot of fun! We got to play with all kinds of cool electronic stuff and talk about gadgets all day long.

Plus we got tons of discounts from everything from travel to clothing, it was great! It was like having a "hook up guy" for everything you could imagine ;)

There are tons of old schoolers at Sears because they are a very good company to work for. Great benefits, great people and they treat people like gold! I'm sure the guy you met is making a great wage plus benefits and has a kickass pension plan to boot. Also after 10 years service he gets like 5-6 weeks of paid holidays a year. After 15 years he gets like 6-8!!!

I don't know why you feel the need to beat this guy down, just because he isn't making the big bling bling like you ;)

Looks like the Sears salesmen just quit his job yesterday. Maybe he had a hard time finding clients for his Amway triangle?

Basic_man 09-07-2004 10:09 PM

Yeah, that's a damn poor job !

maybe he finally saved enough money and retired early to spend time with the grandkids he loves dearly. if so, he's still a better man than you'll ever be.

Working at Sears and being happy are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Being self-employed isn't always the greatest thing in the world. When I'm having trouble sleeping or stressed out about business-related issues, I often think about going back to being a cog in the machine. Sure, I had a boss when I worked for the man but my life was much simpler back then as well. I put in my 8 hours and that left 16 hours in the day to spend my time however I wanted. Being self-employed, it seems like you work 16 hours a day and have a lot less free time. The more succesful you get, the less free time you have and the more people you have taking up your time.

So who is more happy, the man with lots of money but no time to enjoy it or the man with enough to money to take care of his family and plenty of free time to enjoy it?

Yeah, that's what you want to believe...you guys are all so hillarious.

How you all get so worked up over a man you have never met, yet assume he lives so happily working at Sears. Buncha adult webmaster clowns you all are.

It's because you smelled like a rotten pile of goat cheese. Admit it, you are a good for nothing salesmen whos life is headed in the wrong direction. :)

Maybe you can ask AaronM for some details on finding clients for your Amway job though...I'm sure he knows A LOT of people looking for food products.

i do not want to waste my time on someone like yourself. you may think i am headed in the wrong direction. but it is you my friend who will never head anywhere with that attitude.

By the way, if this salesmen knew he had such a big fan club, he would probobly start to accept donations from you guys.

Not only are you naive you are also a classless piece of shit. What makes you so much of a better person than him that can waltz around saying shit like this?

I'm tired of arguing with you dim wits...it's pointless. So please, shut up.

Shoplifter 09-07-2004 11:25 PM

The thing is that most people don't know better. They don't understand wealth as they have never seen it. They waste their time in low paying jobs because in their experience that is the way things should be.

I think all the truly wealthy on GFY would say there has to be a moment where you had that epiphany and it all fell into place. I can still remember the moment when I had my real education about how things should be, and I have never looked back. If I had never had that though, I would probably be a programmer somewhere.

ilsoph 09-07-2004 11:47 PM

one of my assistants is taking this week off to attend the funeral of a friend who had killed himself at the ripe age of 30... his suicide note (among other things) read that he was taking his life because he had "achieved nothing in life"... he was working at walmart..

there's nothing disgraceful about working hard to support your family..

as for your attitude.. you'll either grow up, or get your ass kicked.. either way works for me

I heard the guys who work there selling big applicances do very well .

CDSmith 09-08-2004 01:53 PM

Look for ways to show respect to people, not disrespect.

And, fact of life: everyone in the world is not going to be wealthy.

Deal with it.

If you can't deal with it you are an idiot.
