How Could Anyone That Has a Company that Earns $1M+ a Year...

Support the Democrats?!?!?!

I don't support Bush but I am a staunch Republican and have been for years. I disagree with most of what G. W. Bush has put us into but hasn't let it sway my opinion of the Republican Party. It amazes me that so many people don't even know what the fuck they're talking about and then start a political debate! I was debating this gentleman earlier this week and he didn't even know what GOP meant!!! WTF!?!?!?

Please educate yourself on the principles before you decide on your party and stance.

I don't see what having a company that earns over $1 million a year has to do with this. Explain.

I understand that there are differences between the parties but it appears to me that most of the hatred for Republicans stems from a form of Pavlov's Dog conditioning. People are trained and conditioned to hate Bush therefore hating the entire Republican party. They salivate and sneer at anything that supports or relates to Bush...i.e..the GOP. Just a FYI, Not everone that is Republican agrees with Bush.

Arnie is a Liberal Republican...doesn't that sound like an oxymoron? How could a Republican be Liberal? It's true and that's how the world works. Things aren't always what they seem.

Not all Republicans are conservative. Not all Republicans are Asshahahahaha. Not all Republicans are Bush. We're not bad people. Get to know us and you just might like us.

In my area it was mainly huge video chains due to a new attack using zoning laws instead of obscenity...as well as top of the line strip clubs etc.

Let's not forget the mom and pop shops which most people are here.

During the 80's porn was almost virtually wiped out of the D/FW area. You could still find a few locations in Dallas...but there was one outlet I visited in Fort Worth because that's where I lived.

I walked in one day and they had hardcore porn..and the next day shelves were empty and what was on the shelves were censored versions..basicallly hard R.

I asked the owner about it, what had happened...I never saw someone get so upset in my life. Denied ever having hardcore porn in the store at all...I guess he was concerned I was undercover.

I guess that IMO you have to look fairly at both sides and see which way you lean more comfortably. I list the standard "platform" of the democrats and there's a lot of it that I don't agree with. I'm MUCH more fiscally conservative. I'm also more socially conservative. Not so much about gays and freedom to do what you want in the bedroom, but more about welfare and federal aid here and abroad. I'm also not 100% on board with their education plans.

But then I list the things that are on the standard Republican platform and there are less that I can agree with. I can't stand the influence of the religious (not so very) right on the current administration and republicans in general. That drives me the most crazy. I'm also a live and let live kind of gal and they don't support that. They seem to want to regulate everything even though they scream about big government.

In my lifetime (born in 1967) my experience with Republicans is that they leave office with my life worse off each and every time. They all talk about lowering taxes, but I always end up paying more. They talk about smaller government, but always seem to create more debt and more agencies to tell me what I can and can't do. Not cool.

This year this supposed "War on Terror" (insert dramatic music here) bullshit has me crazy. We are sending our children over to the Middle East to be killed on a goosechase! We were lied to and taken to war on a big old pile of Texas bullshit. Not bad intelligence, blah blah blah.. isn't the world better off without Sadam, but a big pile of steaming stink. We went to war because Sadam wouldn't turn over his WMD's that didn't exist. He told us they didn't exist. He even (finally) let the UN come in and look for them, insisting they didn't exist. We invaded and blew tons of shit up and guess what... They don't exist!

Our world is a mess. People out there seriously hate us and we're not doing anything to nip that right away. That makes more and more people wish us harm. That's some scary stuff! I read or hear little blurbs about people who are pissed at us (like Pakistan, who have lots of nukes) but that doesn't make the news. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! I am the great and powerful Oz.. er Bushy.. er Mr. President.

saddam fucked around the UN and the UN said he wasn't 100% upfront with them.

the states knew he had those weapons because they gave it to him. who's gonna take his word that he doesn't have them anymore?

A very interesting question. As a Republican I will support my party therefore I will vote Bush in '04. Although I don't agree with a lot of his policies I will still vote him simply because I don't want a pacifist liberal running my country. I feel that another 4 years of Bush will be A LOT BETTER for this country than 4 years of Kerry/Edwards.

Kerry has only promised to raise taxes on "people" who earn over $200,000 e.g. salary.

He hasn't said he'll raise company taxes.

C'mon, Dre. You know me better than that. I try not to watch propaganda films that explicitly try to sway one's opinions to the far, far left. Mr. Moore (I use the Mr. title very loosley) does absolutely nothing for me. I choose to think for myself and formulate my own opinions rather than having someone force-feed them to me in the form of a Motion Pictures. The same Motion Pictures that Moore is making hundreds of millions of dollars on. Where I'm from we call that EXPLOITATION.

Ask Mr. Moore how much money he made from those movies actually went to A) The families of the Columbine victims B) Families of the 9-11 victims C) Vanity products like soap, shampoo, or cologne.

Heh, I like that even though George has brought catostrophic failure in everything he's been involved with from the private sector to the white house, people will allow him to continue to drive America into the ground because they think Kerry doesn't want to invade enough countries. Yeah, that'll show them them liberals, drive that deficit up, keep fighting a non-army in Iraq, piss off the UN some more. Make the middle class the highest taxed income group (if you don't know what kind of catastrophe this does to an economy, do your homework). The country's fucked, take that you hippies!

You must be very poor, because as HighOnAcid has explained, only poor people support democrats and rich people support republicans. It's that simple.

for myself first - but if only me, who am I?

It horrifies me that peope would trade freedom for a tax break, whatever it adds up to.

I would go live on the street in a cardboard box and beg for food scraps - if it meant that we could have a society built on science, and keep irrational religious-based taboos out of our laws - if it meant that everyone had adequete access to health care - if it meant that freedom of speech would never be challenged and the facist concept of censorship would forever be banished from a civilized nation.

So is the ideology of the Republicans. In fact, the differences between the two parties are so insignificant (gay marriage? abortion?) that elections have become nothing more than theater, with American boobs actually choosing and fighting for their favorite figurehead.

The people who hate Bush so much on this site are business and life failures. It's also likely they are 17 year old surfers who have no understanding of basic business. I just add them to my ignore list.

The ideology of communism is not a problem, just how people warp and abuse it. Because of the human factor...thats why it dont work.

BTW I would be considered Republican in my views if I lived in the USA but there is no way on earth I would vote for Bush.

It is not as simple as rich vote republican poor vote democrat. I grew up in a very rich suburb of NYC and there were many Democrats who make deep 6 figures in personal salaries.

The people with money voting democrat are usually concerned about religious freedoms and a little thing called the constitution.

There are many things I do not like about democrats. I have never taken a hand out and don?t believe in giving them but look at our options. We only really have 2 choices in November and we need to choose the best one for our industry.

Also to say that if you make 1mill a year you need to be republican is ridiculous. Look at what you loose if they win. More and more legislation making this business harder. Is it worth it to save even 10% on your taxes if you have to hire an entire staff to manage the new 2257 regulations. The current ones are easy enough to manage but the proposed changes will only continue to grow. Not to mention the loss of traffic from gallery builders if they can not display hardcore without id's.

how much would it cost to defend a typo or error in your records before a court? Certainly more then your taxes will increase. How much would it cost if the American public gets gun shy of buying porn because they are afraid the gov't will come after them?

They have already raised the fines and jail times associated with 2257 compliance. They have set up a division that has 1 purpose and that is to inspect records. How long before they nock on your door and you have to stop updating your site or running your business to show the gov't your being a good little boy and following the rules? Today it is graphic depictions how long before showing pink is graphic? Were does it stop?

So many big guys say oh well this will just weed out the week and small mom and pops. Is that what people really want? Look at the stats posted by so many affiliates in the last week. After the top 20 or so many affiliates are only earning a few hundred a month. Losing 200 affiliates earning 400 a month is a huge hit to most programs. Everyone wants to say we don?t need the little guy but the top 100 lists prove the exact opposite. This industry was built on the mom and pop. Many of the huge programs started as a side project or small venture back in the mid 90's and have grown to huge corporations.

If your concerned about protecting your finances there should be no question deal with whatever tax increases come in exchange for being allowed to run the types of sites we all do. I much rather spend 10's of thousands in taxes to protect millions in earnings.

I?m voting Kerry because he will let us run our business. If bush wins it will be 4 more years of not sleeping at night worrying about who is going to be the program they decide to make an example of.

It is a myth that Republican administrations are good for business. Historically, more GDP growth has occurred during Democratic administrations in the 20th century. I believe people misunderstand a pro-big business attitude does not translate to economic growth.

(12 Clicks: I'll gladly break out the GDP charts vis-a-vis administrations if you like since I have it bookmarked on my bedroom computer.)
