Webair spam filter ugh...

Webair have introduced spam filters, great the more spam that gets blocked the better. However, they emailed their customers after they turned it on.

For several days now I have been in confusion about missing emails and have clients screaming at me. The problems is no spam filter is perfect and with the webair filter you have no option to see what email they deleted. In addition to using blacklists they are also blocking certain file extension which is also causing me problems.

They say you can opt out and I did and got the confirmation but when I tried a test email with a .exe file attached it came bouncing back.

So a great idea and service to their customers but badly implemented and has probably cost me a client or two now and this is my beef with Webair, they seem to forget that their customers are also running businesses.

You should not send .exe outside of a wrapper, .zip .arj i think outlook even bitches and calls you a moron but still lets you do it.

Well 2 days on and my email is still being filtered.

Who said Webair gave good support?

I get one reply a day asking for more information and they try and close the ticket.

Be aware that if you host with Webair your email is being filtered and you have no idea what you are missing.

How do I get Webair to help me? I just want to opt out of their spam filter.

why don't you just call them if this is really a great problem? Working great for me, but I was concerned the first day until I got the hold of Sagi that calmed me down. As long as they don't screen for words I'm happy, but they should have emailed all of us before they implemented it....

global dialers: they don't screen the emails for words like that..

I'm out of the States now so calling is not an option due to the time difference. Why the hell can't they just opt people out like they promise?

I see a thread on another board with people having problems with the filter.

As one guy said his isp tried for 1.5 years with a filter and at the end of it just took the filter off and left it to the customer.

The spam filter works well for me; I'm down from 900 mails to 100 daily.

That sucks. I noticed one of my ISP'S introduced a spam filter recently but luckily it was optional otherwise I would of dropped them like a hot potato. I hate spam as much as the next guy but I will be the judge on what is spam or not when it comes to my email.

They put it on then emailed their customers.

I have been trying for 2 days to get out of it.

They said I had been removed from it but when I tried a test email to myself it bounced back!

Please e-mail [email protected] to be removed at any time. Please include the e-mail addresses or domain names you would like excluded.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Currently filtering based on several black lists & extensions.

Webair Mike,

I opted out, had it confirmed and yet you are STILL FILTERING MY EMAIL.

Please sort this out, it is NOT working the way you think it is.
