Have affiliate demands gone too far?

Are affiliates going too far with what they demand from sponsors these days?

I'm constantly getting hit up for more content (then we already provide), free hosting, free banner hosting, free assword to our members area ("to grab content for galleries"), etc.

I really don't mind it. Hell,we'll do anything to get your traffic: free hosting? got it free domain egistration or use oe of ours? not a problem more or specialized content/banners/galleries? sure thing. The problem is, after bending over backwards for people, they often seem to "forget" to send the traffic.

My favorite thing is giving someone free space and content to promote our sites and they "forget" to promote our sites but "remember" to promote the sites of other programs with their bandwidth/space they've been given.

moral of the stroy: most sponsors wll bend over backwards for their affiliates, but it seems affiliates just remain fickle.

on that note: if you an send traffic and are serious about building a mutually profitable relationship, hit me up and let's discuss what it will take to EARN your traffic. We value our affiliates highly and know the more money they make, the more moneywe make. If you need content, hosting, banners, custom adverts, traffic tips and tricks, etc. I'll bend over backwards to ensure you get it, and all you simply have to do to make more money is...USE THE TOOLS.

If you want free hosting, free hosted banners, exclusive content, domains registered for you, etc. and don't feel like putting forth any building efforts or have any intentions of even using the tools provided, then please go sign up with another sponsor and let's not waste each others' time.

I can only give you the tools to make more money, but you're still going to have to provide the labor and effort.

It's not even so much about loyalty as it is about making a ton of demands and then nothing happens.

I really don't mind creating custom promo materials for affiliates... since I need to be doing that anyhow and the new materials eventually get added to the regular arsenal. And I'm always glad to help out affiliates that have already started sending traffic.

HOWEVER, when affiliates constantly ask for TITLES for their promotions and basic subject lines for their emails/newsletters that's getting a bit lazy Of course, it's different when they are asking if something is compliant with the changing laws... but to ask someone to come up w/ your sales slogan is pushing it. lol


But then, maybe I'm just feeling stingy right now... 'cas I know I wouldn't buy hookers for an affiliate... lap dances, drinks, no problem... if you're sending traffic!

I'm probably one of those fickle affiliates you're speaking of.

I do demand access to members area for content ... There's reasons for it though:

1) Content that is available to all webmasters, is often heavily over used. It makes it difficult to get good listings for galleries with heavily used content

3) I think sites sell better, if after clicking through from the gallery the surfer can see the exact same sorts of content that have them already interested. Tease them with what we now know they're interested in.

2) Member retention is just better with your content. People are signing up for your sites, based on the free samples I am providing. If they don't find the same sort of content, and in many times the rest of the specific movie they're looking for, they aren't going to stay. This doesn't matter to me on PPS, but should matter to you always.

As far as free hosting goes .. I think it's silly, for the most part, to demand this. Just get a good pay out, and handle your own hosting. This is what I always do. I get my own 404 traffic, and most importantly, control over all my domains.

All of this being said .. if you have some high converting reality sites, I'll try them out. Let's chat on ICQ (97374780).

I really do appreciate our affiliates and understand loyalties are fickle and I truly love nothing more than going that extra step for our affiliates, but I've gotten a little grouchier about showing the love to those who can't even so much as submit a couple galleries or send a couple token hits.

the worst is getting to be the begging for free passwords to "get content to make galleries" which I don't mind at all, but if you're going to pilfer our member's area, at least put SOME effort into it. We feel we provide more than enough content in our affiliate area and new sets are being added all the time.

On a positive note, I'm seeing a lot of eager gogetters who are new to the game and just need a couple traffic tips or gallery critiques.....

I'm not into busty chicks...but I have seen the back end on EGC's big tit site and I tell you man they are really going after this fetish and hard...the site converts and retains...if you have big tit traffic send it to them.

I understand the need for passwords, etc. my complaint is with those who demand them and then "forget' to promote the sites after they've been through the sites.

I'll hit you up. let's talk traffic. Again, any affiliate who is serious about promotion, I'll bend over backwards. Who knows, maybe our sites won't do well with your traffic, but all we can do is provide the tools and ask affiliates to give it a chance.

I think the strangest request I ever received was a person new to the business that asked us to design all original sites for him, submit for him, host for him, purchase a stats tracking membership and meet with him from 7-9 every night online teaching him about the biz. (Oh, wait, I'm sorry---he said he could give me Sundays off, so only 6 days a week).

The hardest thing for me to get done right now, is new templates. I hate being told "Oh yes, this site converts well" .. making a new template, and finding out it was all a lie.

If any sponsor wants to pay Eroswebmaster to make movie gallery templates, for my use only .. I'll send their program traffic for sure. If it converts piss poor, I won't stay .. But I will send a few thousand well filtered clicks. If the conversion rate is even bearable, I'll keep sending.

I've known TheDoc for a few years now and he's one of the most honest guys I know in this biz and out of it...very helpful as well and always willing to teach you something about this biz...Chris when he puts out a product he makes sure it's quality and the numbers I've seen that he's been so kind to share they retain above average.

BTW, have you noticed that same sort of behavior with surfers/members? The ones who email a lot before they join or make constant demands are hardly worth the time. I can have 500 members content just logging in & downloading the updates, but there's always a handful that will email just about every day with some kind of question/request/complaint.

the ones who complain about shaving have usually only sent 2-3 joins as it is (even if a sponsor were shaving, it's not going to be someone only sending 2-3 joins per month), the ones who complain most about missing checks generally haven't made the minimum payout in the first place...
