Building a Paysite is harder than you think!
Damn...I didn't realize how much time it takes to build a paysite...it looks easy but it takes up alot of time...from designing the site, optimizing all the photosets, resizing all the photosets, thumbnailing all the photosets, creating galleries for affiliates, organizing all the content, zipping photosets for galleries, etc....

one thing i dont understand, the thumbs for most paysites are utter crap compared to what tgps/mgps use. The same effort should be put into thumbs on the inside of the paysite.

I would be willing to bet that 90% + of the websites out there don't comply with the laws... Which leaves them wide open to be screw with by law enforcement... Just my Denny

It's definatley not easy. Add filming content to the list and your free time dissapears. It takes me about 40 hours to run site properly and we are building 5 more. Needless to say I had to hire a full time staff of people. I find that updates and keeping affiliates happy are the two hardest, yet twop most important things. Without them you're fudged. 1/2 my time goes into just that.

Hehe, funny reading this thread....
The longest process for us is shooting the content and then processing the video. We can shoot and get online about 2 full series a day (videos/pictures/trailers) To build a paysite front end and back-end (after we have the video content) it takes about 1 week. Most of this time is upload time. 2 days to put it all together. It takes me 10 minutes (or 1 hour a week) to update our sites. This includes the new pages for new girls. I have one person that shoots and process video and an admin. The rest of my staff doesn't work on our paysite side of the business. It takes about 25 hours a week total to do updates, process updates, webmaster and customer support, update tours, hosted galleries/banners/content, promotion of the program and self promotion of the sites. I out source hosted galleries, some design work, banners, and about anything else that takes to much time.
