oh no, I think I have corpal tunnel
Last night I woke up and my wrist was killing me. Today it's hard to type. I can hardly find a comfortable position for my hand. This sucks. I know it's not broken. I can move my fingers and force the wrist into motion it's just very painful.

I have corporal tunnel and cubital tunnel... (that one is in the elbow). Soak it in hot epsom salt water for awhile, that should relax it, and get some Motrin....... those things will work, but you should see a Dr. It hurts like hell I know... and in some cases will need surgery.. and no I am no Dr, I just have it in both wrists and my damn elbow and have had for many years.......... also wrapping it in an ace bandage will help you out alot.

What helped me a lot when I started getting what you are feeling is
I got a good high quality keyboard tray and mouse holder, with the gel rest then I went out and got a nice adjustable chair with adjustable arm rests I saw a tv show, telling people that it is really important to adjust your chair height so that your wrists are straight and relaxed, not bent at an angle I did that, and laid off for a couple days, and it worked another thing I would recommend is to get a chair with adjustable arm rests, so that, your arm rests are taking some of the weight of your arms, and you are not holding your arm up at the wrist good luck |

I read all kinds of literature on carpal tunnel -- I tried just about everything -- what helped me the most was swimming. Swim some laps (seriously) every day and your problems will be gone probably in a week and you'll feel a lot healthier ;) Also if you do a lot of mouse work (you graphics people) -- get a drawing tablet -- that really helped me more than any fancy trackball or other gadget. You can hold the stylus very lightly and it's much more accurate and efficient than using a mouse.
I was at the point where I couldn't even do one pushup or pullup -- even opening doors or using a screwdriver was painful -- same for picking up plastic grocery bags -- don't fuck around w/ carpal tunnel -- it can disable your entire body if it gets bad enough and after a certain point the damage is irreversable -- unless you get an operation, but then if you don't heal properly you can have problems using your hands! -- never in a million years would I get that operation -- I saw some pics on the net of how they cut open your wrists and it's the worst fucking thing I've ever seen -- I'd rather give up computers entirely than get this operation. Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor so don't sue me. ------------------ -- thefly.net |

Fly... no way... I'd never have the operation either....... I guess I probably seen the same pics as you did... LOL NASTY!!!!! BUT some people have great luck with that sort of thing..... I am just not one to go under a needle for any amount of damn money.
Swimming really helps? Ok, but what if you are a fool like me and don't know how to swim? Then you drown? LMAO..... I did some physical therapy and they had me hold my arm under this whirlpool thing and dipped it in hot wax... all that seemed to relax it too.. but damn that was high... I just wrap mine and soak them when they start up. It usually takes a few days but it helps some. ![]() Tam |

thanks for all the info. I was told to put heat on it and take motrin just as tam said. I can't swim, so swimming is out of the question.

My mother had the surgery done to her left wrist about a year ago. She swears that that they will have to drag her to get the right wrist done.
